Check in process felt a little weird with having to send selfies, pictures etc…and a little confusing to get into the building. However the agent I called stayed on the phone with me until I got into the building safely. I see many people with a bad experience regarding deposit refunds. I got my full deposit back in the time frame the contract indicated. If you follow the rules you’ll have no issues getting the deposit refund.

The check in was horrible, I had to practically beg for the code to get in. Then the check out, you’re required to remove the garbage then bring the parking fob back up to the room once you’ve exited the garage. Not practical.

As most people have said, the check-in process is a bit confusing. After that, though, things were smooth! Great property, great location. Would book again!

First, the check in process was the worst I've ever dealt with on any platform. They make you do things like send your photo holding your ID next to your face and all your guests. Next, I had to change my guests from 3 to 2 and they refused to refund the extra cost despite making the request within an hour of the booking.
Second, there was a water problem in Calgary and the host demanded that I DO NOT SHOWER, WASH THE DISHES, FLUSH THE TOILETS. Despite also sending a notice that I will be charged if I do not load the dishwasher and run it.
Third, parking instructions were terrible in the whole situation of picking up the key fob running up and down the elevator.
Fourth, there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. Staying during Stampede week when the weather was in the high 30's and you're cooking in the room.
The “support staff” just argues with you and sends you nonsense documentation that have nothing to do with your issue.
Bed pillows are super flat and they can't even provide appropriate drinking glasses where every glass was different sizes and kinds. It was a horrific stay on every level.
Only pro was the view was nice.

Location is brilliant. Easy to walk to stampede grounds and downtown area. Simple 7 minute drive to the zoo. Gorgeous view. The only down side is some of the homeless right outside the building. The view is stunning. Little wear and tear in the unit but very clean.

When we arrived at 5pm , as many others have noted, the door was locked with no way to get in. I called and the lady I spoke to insisted it should be open ( it was not) and really offered up no solutions for me. Thankfully someone let us in and we were able to get to the unit. I’m speaking with the security guard the door is always locked on weekends and after 5 as a result of the major problem with homelessness and drug addicts that sleep / hang around the front of the building.
Once we got the unit it was filthy, floors were dirty, bathrooms were filthy, toilet was broken, linens were dirty. When I mentioned it to the global team they said they would not it ( so sleep in dirty linens I guess) after calling Expedia direct they were able to get Global to send a maintenance man who did a quick clean and fixed a few things- and I have heard nothing since. I travel to Calgary every month for business and this is by far the worst unit I have been in.

No running water
Tedious check in process, required submitting government ID picture by email.
Had to wait over 30 minutes to get access to building, comms back and forth with Global Stay by phone and email and kept being told to wait another 5 minutes. Finally the security guard at the front desk let us in.
Furnished with IKEA furniture, not as pictured on site.
No parking available despite how the unit was advertised.
Feb 13th 2024, sent communication to Global Stay advising of no running water in shower, vanity and kitchen sink. Video attached. No warnings of water being shut off. Clearly failing to comply with Alberta Health's Minimum Housing and Health Standards. Asked for refund due to Global Stay breaching its obligation to me as a short-term tenant.
March 9th 2024, Par, Manager of Global Stay Team, advised that "building management is obliged to provide all amenities that are in charge of theirs, such as parking availabilities, water supplements provided."
March 10th, 2024 - I requested the contractual documents and policies that obligate the building management to be directly responsible to Global Stay’s short-term renters.
March 21, 2024 - reply from Kristy, Manager Global Stay Team, "We consider this case closed as per last message by my colleague"
April 2, 2024 requested again the contractual documents that obligate the building management to be responsible for issues encountered by Global Stay short-term tenants.

I don’t like that you must be 25 to stay here. My deposit was increased to $1000 because I’m 20. As someone who had even stayed in an apartment building and doesn’t go to the city this was very confusing, even with the extra google doc. The man at the front desk helped me even though the google doc said the front desk wouldn’t help. That was very nice. Now that I figured everything out I would stay here again. The apartment is very nice, it had everything you’d near, even a dishwasher. The view is nice and some excellent ramen and sushi is only 10 min walk away.

Their check-in system is broken. They are tons of preliminary steps which I was okay with. Upon reaching the hotel, their remote access system was broken and they blamed the company which handles their phone lines.
I was stuck waiting in the lobby for over 2 hours, from 12:30 am to 2:30 am, after which I could finally access the apartment. Would definitely not recommend it to anybody in the area, please look elsewhere.

The suite was perfectly adequate, a clean decent size one bedroom apartment. However, the kitchen/eating area is very dark, needs more light. Instructions on how to adjust the thermostat would have been helpful as it was uncomfortably warm in the suite. Opening a window helped some but very noisy. Also, having your cleaning staff use unscented laundry detergent to wash bedding and linen would be a benefit to those people who are very fragrance sensitive. I would have thought that anyone renting out an apartment would do this as a matter of course. The building concierge was very helpful. All in all, a good place to stay for a few days. Oh and have someone adjust the very large clock on the wall (not everything automatically changes for DST).

The instructions provided for checkin that I punch in # at the apartment screen, then the provided code. There was no pound sign and I was suppose to ignore the invalid room prompt the screen was saying, then it worked. So I stood at the screen for 10 minutes clueless. The room was not as clean as desired. The room size and kitchen was great. Homeless people loitering around the liquor store on the main floor.

The biggest downfall with this condo was, these three things. The first was gaining access. The second was cleanliness, and the third was the deposit.
- You need a fob to get into the entrance of the building. Once you’re in the entrance you can put the code in to get the fob. Do you see the problem here you need the fob to get in to get the fob so we ended up waiting for a resident that would let us in so we could get access to the keypad so we could get access to the fob. So we could have access to the condo. It wasn’t straightforward or easy. It took probably a little over 45 minutes. We were just lucky we didn’t have at tight schedule.
-when we got access to the condo we were happy with how everything looked. It was how it was described in the ad BUT when we went to bed there were crumbs in the sheets and we noticed the bed stunk like perfume on the pillows but not other places and the sheets definitely had perfume smell and cologne from previous occupants, the bed was not clean the sheets had crumbs in them!
-the third problem we had was the deposit they take their sweet time getting you your deposit back. It would be nice if it was a keep your credit card on file and charge you if there’s problems, like most hotels, but it’s a charge deposit that they take well over a week to get back to you still waiting on getting my deposit back. We actually left the apartment cleaner then we got it so I will be really disappointed if we don’t get the full deposit back.

Communication and customer service was awful from the beggining. The amount of info and pictures they needed with unclear and misleading direction made it a long and frustrating online check in process. One bedroom had a smell that was almost unbearable. Along with the bedding and pillows. There was cleaning supplies left on the ground and we had to put away dishes that was left in the dishwasher. Lights and plugs throughout were not working. Only one elevator was working so it took 10 minutes just to get down to the lobby. But the views were amazing!

The pictures for this apartment are misleading. Its advertised as modern its far from that but as it was holiday week i had limited alternative options. Seems like they don't always do a good job cleaning between customers as the dryer still had stuff in it. Dishwasher was still loaded and one of the 2 sink basins had dried pasta under the sink strainer. Location was good and convenient. It has potential to be a good place just needs some TLC and higher standards for he money they charge.

Horrible to work with. Communicated once with me via phone than could only ever get information via email. Didnt communicate that the parking garage has huge height restrictions. Wanted all of our photo id's without providing a privacy policy, do not understand why because it is self check in. They say it's professional cleaned, but it isn't. Was not willing to refund me the 3rd guest charges, saying they can't change the reservation, but they had me change the guests name twice. They have stopped communicating with me now. SO YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Yes it looks nice from the photos but the upkeep has been poor. Because of the issues I was having I felt it was best to just document everything and bring it up at the end, but they use every excuse in the book to not have a conversation with you. Read the review, every negative review says we will bring it up with the management team. To paraphrase we have your money go F*$K yourself, we dont care anymore.
And guess what, they hold all the cards once they have your money and you realize that you missed the deadline to cancel.

The instructions to enter the property should be a little more detailed. The apartment itself needs to be updated. The carpet looks awful and the beds are not at all comfortable. Lighting especially in the kitchen area is not very good.

As a travelling business man it was nice to have an actual home over a another hotel room to relax in. Being able to eat in and not another fatty restaurant meal is always appreciated. Only issue was that I was not able to watch live sports on the TV.
