Excellent stay, very friendly and very traditional pub with great features!! Really enjoyed memory lane!! Excellent value for money!!

You are never sure what you will find staying in a pub. This is a gem. Great selection of beer, proper cobs and pork pie and, despite being a busy pub, the room was very quiet and supremely comfortable. The staff were all so friendly. I tried hard to find a single word to sum up breakfast. Stupendous? Splendid? I settled on magnificent!!!

Highly recommend staff are great, always a cracking breakfast well worth the money

The young lady who checked us into the hotel was a real credit to seven stars. Efficient, friendly lovely welcome.
Hotel was very clean.
Breakfast was huge, even my husband couldn’t manage it all.
We have stayed in a very expensive hotel that way and we preferred seven stars
Would definitely recommend

Brilliant Victorian era midlands pub, retaining many period features. Staff very friendly, huge breakfast and extensive selection of beers.

Compact comfortable room above a real ale pub.

It was exactly what we wanted.
Very local and not any whiff of premier inn.
Staff very local including their two large collie.
Any observations would be that helpings of food were too generous for us. We left alot of food on our plates.

Very pleasant 2 night trip. Room really spacious, huge bathroom (excellent shower)
Although above the pub not at all noisy. Parking was available and at the front of the property. Breakfast amazing and staff so friendly

Room very nice , food good, plenty of cask ales , only about 10 spaces for parking which is ok if nobody has stopped off for a pint . Can’t comment on breakfast as it’s 8.00 am , which is too late for people who are working . This happens in too many hotels and should be put on the hotels . Com before booking and then people can decide wether to stay or not

Amazing place - a really warm welcome, fantastic room and a huge tasty breakfast. Highly recommended.

Fantastic stay. It was a last minute booking and fortunately I managed to get in here. Really enjoyed my stay and the range of real ale was fantastic. Very friendly pub staff and I even ended up sat chatting with a couple who were celebrating a birthday. I was made to feel welcome by everyone.

Much better than the other hotel I have used in the vicinity, except for location, which is on the whole not bad.

The room was very comfortable, modern and clean and even though it’s on a main road it was quiet. We had a view of the beer garden and houses at the back which all have pleasant gardens. Downsides -
Check out time says 10.30 on the booking and yet it states very clearly on the bed side table on a chalk board that we MUST check out at 10. Bit rude and ‘in your face’ I thought. When we checked that it was ok for 10.30 the night before (my partner had a business call at 10 that he wanted to make from the room) we were told that was fine. However we had a knock on the door at 10.10 to ask us if we were leaving. Not appreciated. Also we have eaten there before and hoped to do so again but they are under new management and as yet the new chef hasn’t arrived. This is something that hopefully will be rectified soon. The pub has a cosy feel especially during the winter when the fires are lit. Would stay again if check outs were clearer (and maybe a tad later) and hoping the food will be just as nice as it has been in the past :)

Really enjoyed our stay here. Lovely comfy room, nice tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and a huge bottle of water supplied. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Just a shame the kitchen was closed during our stay. Fabulous pub though, the choice of ales is superb. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

A perfect choice for a solo traveller or a couple needing to be in the Stourbridge and surrounding areas, the room was comfortable, spotless, and appeared to have been recently renovated. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot and with good pressure, ample good towels, good coffee, biscuits, and water supplied. The pub is really nice with an excellent selection of beers, and the location right by Stourbridge Junction can’t be beat. A bonus is an excellent coffee shop 5 mins walk away. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to the area

It's a lovely old pub, modenised but still keeping the original Victorian features. The staff were very friendly, the food was good and it was lovely to be able to dine in front of a log fire.

Turned up at 1pm, no problem with an early check in. Nice welcome and a nice tray of refreshments was on my bed. Would highly recommend this place….the pub downstairs is a bonus!

Amazing stay. Phoned beforehand to see if we could check in early and it wasn’t a problem at all. Extremely welcoming from the minute we arrived and the breakfast was amazing. Would highly recommend. Thankyou
