Run as a tight ship!

The room satisfied our overnight needs. Unfortunately had we known about the steps leading down to the bedroom, then back up to the bathroom, we would have booked a different room. We had to have a light on so we could see when we got up in the night. Due to the age of the property, there were wooden beams which were low. The one over the window is really low, and my husband bent down to put his shoes on, only to stand up and bang his head, very hard. I thought he was going to pass out. I had to drive home as a precaution. Our friends room’s window was higher. If we returned, which is a possibility, we would request a different room. Ear plugs were supplied for the noise from the clock tower.

Nice room, good shower, convenient location in town near the river. Nice pub in decent condition. Continental breakfast only

The stay was comfortable and quiet. The only problem we had was we were not given a key fob and was given a code to open the door when they were not open. The numbers given did not work and therefore we were locked out at 2100 hours in the pouring rain for several minutes and only gained access when another guest arrived who had been supplied a fob. This should not have happened and was a bad slip by management.

Have stayed here a number of times. Well maintained to modern standards, though it is an old building, so it has some quirks, like a low door frame and unexpected steps. Staff welcoming and efficient.

Room was spacious, and clean.
Bathroom was a nice size room and clean
A bit noisy but that was expected as our room was above a pub bar, but it all quiet down when it closed.
A continental breakfast was offered…..

After a 5 hour drive to get to the hotel we were greeted with the news that they were going to shut at 7.30pm on the day of our arrival due to the football. We had booked a meal for ourselves and friends from the area at 6pm but were told we needed to change to an earlier time then had to leave as they weren’t going to be open ! No prior notice was given and we were looking forward to an hour or so chill and freshen up before our meal.. obviously this couldn’t happen as there was no time.
We had to fill out a pre order form for breakfast as the hotel were getting this delivered from a cafe up the road.. we arrived in the restaurant 5 mins before breakfast was due to be served.. 20 mins later still no sign of it so we then had to walk up the street to find said cafe and order it there .. it was lovely food at the cafe - but all a bit farcical..
Room was clean & ok, bed was very low to the ground and the clock over the road strikes every 15 mins and chimes the hours.. so you need to use the supplied ear plugs. Staff were very friendly but whoever the manager is needs to prioritise the customers needs, had we known before we arrived they intended to close early we would have booked somewhere else.

The room was great. I was really suprised to get both bath and shower and room was much larger than I would have expected. I loved the touch of bathrobes and slippers.

All in all a very pleasant weekend stay. Room was beautifully decorated with a fully equipped fridge. All staff members were very helpful and friendly. The only disappointment was the breakfast. It wasn’t supplied by the hotel but bought in by nearby café. I went for the full english on the first morning. Unfortunately luke warm fried egg and trimmings were served in a cardboard box with soggy toast. I decided to try the porridge on the second day but it was in a disposable pot and was basically tepid milk and inedible. It’s a shame because everything else was lovely. I would definitely recommend this hotel but I would pop in the nearby café and have your breakfast served hot and on a plate.

The only downside for us was the fact the bed was too low, making it difficult to get in and out of the bed

STAFF WERE VERY GOOD

The Ship accommodation was lovely only thing I would change in the room was the pillows and the lack of dressing table or access to a sock and mirror.
The breakfast from outside was in a box, a cook breakfast doesn’t travel well and was cold.
They would be better to offer a continental breakfast to serve yourself.
The staff were great place great

The Ship Inn is a lovely pub/restaurant in Burnham. We stayed one night after we had dinner there with old friends. The food was fantastic and the rooms are really nice, very large, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast is pre ordered and brought in, at the time you stipulate, from a small take away cafe up the road and it was really good.

The room was wonderful and the staff really friendly. We ate in the restaraunt and the steaks are fantastic.
I would love to give 5 stars but there is one thing that I had a problem with: I realise that there are Health & Safety rules but the light in the fire exit sign is so bright that it illuminated the entire room and I found it very difficult to ignore and get to sleep. I would definitely stay there again but I will bring a blindfold - or some Duck tape to stick over the light.

If you are travelling for business, ask for the room with the table/desk.

Loved the bathroom and the furniture. Some areas of the bathroom could be cleaner, such as the hard-to-reach areas. Warm and cosy room. Breakfast was ok but I’d have preferred juice AND coffee, not just coffee.

Excellent hotel for all of the above.
The only disappointment was having a full English breakfast delivered in a box. Same as the bacon sandwich. Not ideal
