Just an overnight stay. Won't be coming back. Checkin was at a kiosk talking to a guy, who knows where he was at. Only one employee seen while we were there, he was cleaning our room. Only good thing was the bed was actually comfortable. View out the window was the abandoned part of the hotel, all boardedup.

We stayed here for almost a week, in this week we didn’t get room service once. Had to reactivate the keycards every single day multiple times because of “system issues”. entirety of staff smoked so the entire building smelled like smoke. Unsafe part of town, Ubers are very very spotty. Unsafe, drivers and driving conditions around property no food or amenities nearby within walking distance. Staff is unfriendly and on some occasions, rude. Honestly, only recommend in emergency situations. It will give you a bad and a place to sleep, but it will not be an enjoyable time.

Property undergoing management change so it has to get better. Currently in disrepair and unclean. Kiosk checkin with person living in Asia was strange and impersonal.

Hotel was clean and quiet

We have been there several times. It is clean and affordable which are most important to me. We had to have help to get the tv started ( only waited 10 minutes), but then the volume was stuck at a very loud setting. Also, the air conditioning couldn’t be turned down. it was 58 degrees or turn it off.

Rooms were nice and comfy. Outside of hotel was sketchy and check in by kiosk wasn’t difficult but wasn’t working. So took a little longer

First time to check in via a kiosk. Did not see one member of hotel staff during our brief stay in part due to this.

Room wasn’t in the best condition. Floors had trash that should have been swept. Tub was dirty and toilet smelled like urine. Manager had her boyfriend there kicking it so she had to put on clothes to come down to speak with me. Bed was filthy and the couch mattress was nasty..

Check in was ok. Gentleman helping us virtually was nice. There was an issue with our key and someone had to come help us. She was rude and not helpful. Room was awful. Bed was so uncomfortable . You can actually see the imprints in it where everyone has slept. Room was Damp, moldy and musty smelling. Husband and I both woke up ill. Breakfast was to be out at 6:30. At 7:15 nothing was there but yesterday’s bread. Not even condiments for coffee. Tv and internet went out shortly after we got there and was out all night. While I was showering, the knob fell off the shower. Property area was dirty and several homeless people hanging around property all night. All in all I do NOT recommend staying here.

My son and I were very disappointed with this motel,
1) There was no clerk on duty - only a video screen with a person monitoring the area. I have no idea if he was onsite somewhere or not. There were no instructions about what to do - just a person eventually calling out if they could help us.
2) The FREE breakfast was almost non-existent, so I guess that's why it was free. There was some cereal, but no milk. There was a waffle maker with no instructions and a broken timer so it was challenging to make a waffle. There were no yogurt, fresh fruit, or rolls available.
3) Room was clean, but there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel, and 3 wash clothes in the bathroom even though there were two of us and we had the room booked in advance so they knew we were coming.
4) We booked for 2 nights, but our keycards expired after the first day. They issued new ones, but when I tried mine, it didn't work so I had to go back down to the video screen to get a new one.
5) All of the other motel building were boarded up and run down and a flock of vultures visited the site every morning.
6) When I checked out, I wanted a receipt which they could not print and needed my email address to send it.
I hope you read this before you book. Thanks.

I stayed from July 3rd through July 6th. Check in was through a kiosk. We asked for an extra key (2-bed room) and the Kiosk jammed. We came back about an hour later and got the extra key. Breakfast was served from 6:30am to 9am. I arrived at 7:45 am and most everything was gone. There was a few pieces of toast, not butter. Pancake batter was used up and no one was around to replenish. There was no hot water for a shower at 8:30am. I shower at 5:30am to get the hot water and it lasted for about 4 minutes of my 5 -6 minute shower. The last day there was no hot water at 5:30am either. Shower early and quickly. The smoke alarm was on the floor next to the fridge (wires hanging from the ceiling). there was no dresser and only one hanger. The towel bar in the bathroom was missing from the wall - the right side was attached but the left and the bar was missing. the toilet seat was attached on one side but lose on the other. The TV would not work. I had someone from the staff look at it and she could not get it to work either. She said the manager would come by but I did not see anyone when I was there. I had plans and not able to hang out for a manager about a TV. I was told it was the Wifi was out and effecting the TV. They said it would probably be Sunday or Monday when it would be fixed (I checked out Saturday). I checked with another guest and they were not having a problem with their TV so it is unlikely a Wifi issue.

There are many good things about the hotel such as cleanliness inside, sweet staff, a spacious room and a super comfy bed.
There are a few really bad things as well, such as pretty expensive especially for a week stay at over$445. That there is no pool which for a property this size is crazy. They are under construction and I sat for 15 mins waiting for a person to check me in only to be told that you have to use a kiosk where you are talking to a person on a screen that checks you in which I didn't like at all.
One of my main issues is that the free breakfast that was shown on the website, which is one of the reasons I chose here, has nothing that is shown as the breakfast on the website.
It was supposed to have sausage biscuits, oatmeal, fruit, juice, etc.
I was there for a week and the only thing that they have is the tired waffles, cereal, milk, toast and coffee.

The TV didn’t work. Didn’t feel was that clean. The room next door had people living on it. The housekeeper kept checking on me for some reason asking me if she could help me. Yet, she could barely speak English and not sure why she kept asking me. The lamps didn’t work and were unplugged. It definitely is not a place you should pay over $50 a night. It should be listed as cheaper. It is more of a place that should rent their rooms by the hour.

Clean and comfortable but the air conditioner needs repaired because it’s making a loud noise. Area near door lock was battered as if someone had previously tried to break in. TV remote was missing. However When I stayed the previous week, none of there problems were existed on another room. Only other thing was breakfast extremely limited and the waffle iron wasn’t clean

Need a better breakfast selection.

For Carbondale to be the intersection of two solar eclipses, this place did little to encourage guests to return. The grass was not cut, the parking lot needs repaving, and various other things could have made our trip much better. It’s like they don’t really care about their establishment with the boarded up windows, and such. Very disappointing.

At 3 am there was a lot of noise down the hall and it was just a monday night. The breakfast was hot, and not continental, which was nice but definitely was just provided for the morning of the eclipse and we stayed 2 nights so the following night was just continental. Other than that it was a good stay!

It was just gross. We ended up staying because we had no other options. I do not recommend at all.

Electric outlet didn’t work in bathroom. Bathtub wouldn’t drain and no hair dryer. Breakfast just ok.

This was a b-rate hotel with windows that actually opened out on the street
Won't stay again.

By no means a fancy place, but for what I paid it was worth it. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. It was very quiet, likely because the university is on break. The location worked well for me too.

Easy check-in. Friendly staff.

I paid half price for my stay so it was especially nice for the price. The room and halls were very cleaned and well maintained and furnished. I am very happy with our stay. There was no gym or pool so this works if you are not needing a lot of amenities.

Really friendly and quick with service

Every time we stay it seems they are working to make the experience a little better. Whether it’s adding more to breakfast or quick friendly check in/out.

The hotel was clean but the problem started with the check-in process. The kiosk is not the answer. Next the door does not latch without applying extreme force which may be a result of the humidity level in the room. The ac works but there was a cool mist in the room. Finally don't do the deposit with a credit card it's been 5 business days and I still have not seen my refund.

The place is comfortable, quiet, and has great customer service!

The odor in the room was overpowering. Smelled like a combination of mold/mildew and industrial-strength neutralizer. Had to keep the window open (it was in the 90s) and bring in multiple air fresheners just to make it tolerable. Everything else was fine and as expected. The common areas were pleasant and did not have an odor. Maybe it was just our room. (We were there over family weekend at the near by university and the name brand hotels didn’t have any vacancies.)

Having to check in with this Kiotel machine, Whatever happens to face- to- face in person/human contact. For the room we booked we were seeing the window facing the back staircase while under- construction and the parking lot torn up and such. We understand that you are remodeling or trying to update some interior design, finish the and clean it up. Don't leave them undone,it looks tacky and uninviting.

STAY AWAY! When I pulled up to the place it looked deserted. I went into the building to check in and it was like a scene off a movie from 1970s scary movie. There were multiple bug traps hanging from the ceiling and no one was at the desk to greet us. There was a telephone to call. I instantly asked for a refund and walked out. They later lied and said they never spoke with me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I can bet had I stayed I would've brought home unwanted pets! Not worth your money.

Hotel is dirty and poorly maintained. Bathroom door would not close completely because of prior water damage to frame that was never repaired. And the “free breakfast” offered your choice of crunch berries or wheat toast, nothing else. Absolutely would not stay there again.

This was a rough stay. Checked in around 11pm and they sent us to a room that there were people in. I opened the door and saw suitcases and piles of clothes. The lights were out but TV on. I quickly closed the door. When I told staff at the front desk they asked me if the people were scared or said anything. I don’t know. I didn’t stick around to chat!! She sent us to a new room and it was unoccupied. The room had been remodeled but was dirty. The floors were dirty in the bathroom. There was a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower bar. There were two spots of hair on the shower wall. I worries our car might get broken into as there were people just walking around at night. Beds were comfy. One sheet had what seemed to maybe be a paw print of dirt on it. We’ve wondered what this hotel might be like each time we have come to Carbondale. Now we know. We wouldn’t stay here again.
