This hotel is in the airport terminal, no soundproofing at all so you hear every announcement and have to listen to music from the different eateries in the airport.
Dinner and breakfast were dreadful and lukewarm at best.
The only good thing I can say about this place is that it’s handy for an early flight!
3.7
Nice and convenient stay at Addis Ababa Airport
3.7
Perfect spot for a long flight layover.

We arrived and were booked in, a large notice on the reception counter announcing there was no hot water in the entire hotel. Then we had to return to reception because our key card did not work. Then the toilet seat was no longer attached to the toilet, and the plug in the basin could not open and close. The twin room for 2 was only equipped with towels, cups, glasses for one. So we had to request extras. After reading them the riot act, we were moved to a new room. Same thing. Only equipped for a single person. By the time we got all the mess sorted out, we just went to bed. This hotel is advertised by Ethiopean as being "Ultra Luxurious". I think not.

Friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately the AC was not working so it was a very hot, uncomfortable night, made worse by the fact there was no hot water in the shower or sink.

Although the hotel is wonderfully situated at the departure gates, this is one of only a few plus points. This was my third stay here. There is never the correct amount of linen in the room. Every time i have to contact housekeeping to please bring an extra towel, extra glass, extra this, extra that. Double rooms are meant for double occupancy, surely? The air conditioning in the rooms is a perpetual nightmare. Even after getting someone in to attend to the settings, it never works. The possibilities of this hotel are enormous, they must just be realised.

As a frequent traveller am so happy this hotel exists because I dont have to leave the airport when in transit.
However, I had the following issues:
1. We booked a double room and got to the room to find only a setup for one person. 1 towel, 1 water etc. I informed the front desk and never got the towels, I went back and forth only to be met with a rude staff. This individual should not be allowed to deal with guests. You can imagine how irritating this is when one is tired during travel.
2. There is no room information
3. For the price one would expect at least 2 bottles of water per person....we only got 1 bottles for 2 people
4. The staff need more training
The hotel is nice but the management must do more to ensure customer service is a priority.
3.7
A perfect hotel to stay between your flights. However if you plan on sleeping, ask to get a room that NOT face the gates in the terminal. Otherwise you will clearly hear all the PA calls for the departing flights. And if you want a wake-up-call, don’t trust the reception to wake you up, the totally forgot my wake-up-call. So set your own alarm. Otherwise the rooms are really nice and modern.
3.7
if you get the wrong room - facing departure hall - you will have to listen to announcements until 12pm and from 5am again. no chance to get a good night sleep

Very helpful and friendly check-in.

waiting

It was convenient if you are transiting and can get a good rest.
3.7
No longer providenthe same amenities that they used to like slippers. Concerned about cleanliness ofbthe thick carpets
3.7
It was good, the staff were very professional and privided explanations regarding mynstay and their services/obligations to me. The airport prickup was timely too.
3.7
It was simply amazing
3.7
Best choice by far to spend a restful night between flights. You don’t need to leave the airport, deal with visas or security
3.7
Very convenient if you are in transit and have a long layover. Rooms are ok but the carpet needs updating.
3.7
It was a beautiful experience. We just had a difficult time at the beginning with the payment problems. I had prepaid but the hotel said I had not paid. Eventually it was resolved and I was really tired.
3.7
RECEPTIONISTS THERE ARE TOO HARD AND VERY IRRESPECTFULL. THEY MADE MY STAY THE MOST HORRIBLE IN MY LIFETIME
3.7
It’s clean and modest, but some of the essential consumables were not found
3.7
This is a convenient, safe option to overnight in Addis while transiting.
3.7
Really clean, good staff
3.7
We were assigned a room without external view. The reservation did not say that the room is interior. Bad for my money!
3.7
We booked 2 rooms and requested connecting rooms with double beds..reply from hotel was that we had to pay 50 usd for extra beds. Once arrived none of the requests had been planned and we ended up with single beds. Immidiatly next to the room cargo was handled and the noise and vibrations made sleeping impossible. Beds were trembling... Staff was really not caring, manager ot available while the replies clearly indicated that staff is aware of the noise problems in several parts of the hotel, but many complaints haven't lead to a solution. What seems to be a comfortable option (sleeping in terminal) is actually a nightmare...instead of hotelroom Ethiopian should better advertise 'bed in main cargo loading area'. My claim was simpky wavered of by the desk lady, perfectly trained to dodge unsatisfied customers. Avoid this place or waste your money...you have the choice!

Rooms are fine. The website referenced the skylight as the most luxurious hotel in Ethiopia.
We spend significant money on two rooms that were directly above the departure terminal.
Unacceptable as the intercom at the airport kept going till 1145PM and started again at 0615AM.
There was no way to catch up on some hard earned sleep after a long flight.
3.7
So easy being able to stay inside transit. It is our ‘go to’ when needing to be in Addis Ababa (ADD) overnight.

First you need to understand what "in-terminal" means and how it relates to the nearby "not-in-terminal" Skylight hotel.
In this case, "in-terminal" means the "airside" terminal (not citywide") so you go through transfers to the departure gates and then into the hotel. You do not go through immigration and can't get your checked bags. If you made the mistake of "short checking" them to Addis only I'm not sure what they would do. The Expedia description is very confusing because it largely refers to the other Skylight hotel as follows:
1. Says has airport shuttle but there can't be a shuttle in a place with no roads or cars.
2. Says 7 minute drive to airport. But it's in the center of the airport!
3. Maps shows it on the extremity of the airport but it's in the very core of the departure gates.
The main thing is if you want an airside, in-terminal hotel this is your only choice and it's pretty good. So take it.
If you want a hotel near the airport then the other Skylight hotel is also good. It's about 1/2 mile and technically you could walk it but no one does. The shuttle is frequent. A clean sound safe deal but you pay for it if your only using it for a daytime transit hotel. There is an early check in charge equal to half the night's rate. So keep that in mind if you land early in the morning. Whereas I think the in-terminal hotel is 6am to 6am so works great if land early and leave late that night. Hope this helps!!

Easy to find. They give vouchers to business class flyers on long layovers. Be sure to state that you pre paid. Probably saved me 45 minutes in line.
3.7
It was extremely convenient to be able to walk to the hotel after a long flight and know I have a place to rest up before another long flight ahead.
3.7
WiFi hardly worked, AC unit did not get room cold.
3.7
Very convenient for overnight stay inside terminal building. Clean comfortable room. Dining room was shut by time of check in 11pm
3.7
The check-in process was very fast, the rooms were very clean, and the staff very friendly.
3.7
Très calme
3.7
Great option for overnight stays because of transfers. Very quiet, clean and nice. Amazing shower!
3.7
got there 11 P.M. 1 towel for 2 people, made 5 requests for towels. Finally at 12:30 A.M. got a towel to shower.
was awakened 2 times by fire alarm, then again at 4:30 A.M by a phantom electronic wake up call. NEVER requested!
2nd visit toilet was stuffed, not by us and unable to flush.
Big mistake
to go there!

Booked in-terminal hotel, bussed to downtown . Shocking! Scam of note! Don’t ever deal with these people!!! Tried to communicate with them for two days prior, no reply at all!please refund my money!!!!

After flying in from the states, exhausted and ready for a bed, we had to stand in a “check in” line for nearly 2 hours. There was only one staff member checking people in. The inefficiency and apparent lack of customer care was shocking. When it was finally our turn, she couldn’t find our reservation. This process took an additional 1/2 hour. After over 2 hours, they finally gave us a key card and upon entering our room, there were other guests in the room! Then the next key card for new room didn’t work. Back to front desk. Then the next key card didn’t work. Back to front desk. Then someone lets us in our room with a master key. We never did get a key card that worked. Then the room only had one towel for 2 guests/2 beds. Then the bathroom walls are all glass. Not ideal when traveling and sharing a room with your business partner! Then the fire alarm went off. TWICE! 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM. You can’t make this stuff up. It was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in cosmetically, run by some really nice people that seemed to not have a clue or a care. I hope to never return. I paid $200. It was worth $20.

I have book a room in In-Terminal Skylight Hotel. Why would you place me in Dreamliner Hotel? Without no explanation? That hotel has no warm water and the food is not what I was expecting to have.
I had a blackout only in my room.
That was a terrible night.
3.7
The property is new and well maintained. It is within the transit area within Bole International airport. The rooms as well as the restaurant are spacious, and the staff courteous and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel.

A little to expensive
