Madrona Ridge is a gem of a home with a fabulous hillside location! Perched slightly above the quiet neighborhood, lending added privacy. This home has wraparound decks on three sides positioned for maximum southern exposure and featuring Adirondack outdoor seating, a hot tub, a firepit, and a gas grill. The home also has a washer/dryer, gas fireplace, and WiFi. There is no ocean view. It's a three-block walk downhill to the Pacific Ocean and the white-sand beach. Or it's just a one-minute drive for those unable to make the return walk back up to high ground. Madrona Ridge is uphill in the Highland Neighborhood of Manzanita, above the Tsunami Hazard Zone! It's two blocks from Manzanita's charming downtown with a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, groceries, natural foods, galleries, day spas, toy store, bookstore, pet store, assorted shopping options, and beach cruiser and surfboard rentals. Trek up to Neahkahnie Mountain for spectacular views. Hike through an old-growth forest to fabulous Short Sands Beach or the hidden treasure of Cape Falcon. Fourteen miles to the north, you will find Cannon Beach, with stunning ocean vistas, waysides, State Recreation Sites, and frequent whale sightings all along the way. Take a step back in time while enjoying your steam-powered excursion alongside the ocean and bays on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway.
Upon your arrival at Madrona Ridge, it's just three steps up from the three-car parking area to the extended covered front porch/deck. In the entryway are coat hooks and shoe storage benches. The living room is light-filled and comfortable, with coastal colors and decor. There is a leather queen sofa bed, occasional chairs, and a cozy gas fireplace to gather near and keep you snug. A 32" smart TV is hidden behind cabinet doors (there are no big screen TVs). The kitchen is well-equipped and bright with stainless steel appliances, classic white subway tile, and butcher block countertops. It has east and south-facing windows to capture the welcome morning light.
The outdoor living spaces are for your relaxation! The covered front deck is protected and has a bistro table and seating. Steps lead down to a perfect sandy firepit for s'mores or hot dogs. Or just enjoy the warmth and crackling of the campfire. The private south-facing deck warms up rapidly in the sun. Even in winter, this deck can be quite comfortable on sunny days. The outdoor dining deck has a gas grill with a side burner and a large outside umbrella table where friends and family can gather and linger. The hot tub deck has a sunken spa, so there are no steps to climb as you ease into the warm, calming water. The mood lighting in the hot tub is incredibly soothing after dark, while turbo jets provide whole-body hot water therapy.
Be sure to bring the family dogs. This is a dog-friendly home, and they will love their vacation to the beach at least as much as you will! For their safety and your peace of mind, there are gates and dog gates to help keep them on their best behavior and out of harm's way. They will love Manzanita's expansive beach, where they can run free! After a fun day out, return and relax around the campfire back at your home away from home, Madrona Ridge!

Great home for a group- lots of seating for plenty of people. Also loved having the hot tub right out the kitchen door. We had a problem with a smoke alarm one night, but these thing happen. There could have been more towels too, and it was a bummer that the dryer wasn't functioning, but all in all a good place.

We have stayed a Madrona Ridge a number of times now, and it is always such a pleasure! Each year there have been new additions to the property that are fun to see and enjoy. Manzanita is such a great town and there are a variety of local beaches and hikes that we look forward to getting back to. We love the proximity to the beach and close walk to the main street of Manzanita. The kitchen is well-stocked and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and cozy living room meet and exceed all our needs. The private hot tub, fire pit, and various sitting spots on the incredible wrap-around deck really set this property apart. We used it all and had, as always, a really excellent, relaxing time together at Madrona Ridge! We look forward to next summer's stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Madrona Ridge. We had a family gathering of 5 people and 2 dogs. The kitchen was very well stocked. The multiple decks around the house were wonderful and were useful for working remotely. We ate dinner outside on the picnic table each night. We loved sitting in the hot tub in the evenings. It’s a great location with just a short walk into town or down to the beach. We highly recommend staying here.

Manzanita is a jewel of the Oregon Coast. And Madrona Ridge is just a wonderful place to stay there. This home has everything -anyone may need. It has been thoughtfully and beautifully furnished and decorated throughout. Lots of natural light & well chosen paint colors make this a beautiful, bright, yet cozy space. An amazing, incredibly well appointed cook’s kitchen includes a large table for many to gather together for meals, games etc. The living room slider allows easy access to the many ample outdoor living spaces. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished, with quality bedding & very comfortable beds. Nice, clean bathrooms & great washer and dryer. The outside living areas are above and beyond, with a covered porch, huge decks with seating for many, a fire pit, hot tub, and top of the line barbecue. It’s dog-friendly and just a few minutes walk to the beach & into Manzanita’s charming downtown . We love this place and will return again and again. Thank you!

The place is clean and situated just a two block walk from the beach and the main street of Manzanita. Dog friendly place which was great. Hot tub, gas fireplace and grill were all great and worked well.
Great stay for a family or group of friends.

The property was beautiful and loved the deck. Over all it had everything we needed and was close to the beach.

The home was perfect for our needs... two adult sons, a girlfriend and 3 dogs. We also had family in other homes in Manzanita... this place was perfect for hanging out on the deck when the weather cooperated! Thank you for the magical week! Loren

Recently, my extended family and I reunited in Manzanita, and luckily chose to stay at Madrona Ridge. We are thrilled we did! It was such a wonderful home, clean, and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed and more. There were lots-of extra towels, blankets, sheets, pillows, and throw blankets for inside or out. There were many sleeping options, even some roll-a-way beds. There was plenty of hot water for everyone's showers and baths. The home's location is in a very quiet neighborhood, and above street level, so it was very private. It was above the tsunami hazard zone, and just knowing that was rather comforting. The hot tub was privately located and a joy to relax in, especially with the water jets and lighting. The kitchen was very attractive, had new appliances, and was well-equipped and organized. There were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.
It wasn't exactly perfect beach weather while we were there, but during sunbreaks the living room was flooded with light, and we were able to enjoy the warmth of the sun deck, even though it was December. Otherwise, we gathered around the cozy gas fireplace. We had a fantastic family reunion, and all agreed: we'll return next year, but hopefully sooner!

Comfortable, nothing fancy. It had all the necessities for cooking. Very nice deck..Hot tub. Gas heater. If you request extra nights, be sure they update the security code for the lock or you will be calling the property manager.

This is a great place to stay! A short walk to the beach and conveniently located near restaurants and amenities in Manzanita (and above the tsunami zone!). Great sun exposure! The furniture, appliances and bedding are new and excellent quality but cottage style and appropriate for this setting. Decorations are tastefully done with a beach theme. Nice mattresses and pillows. Plenty of extra blankets, towels, etc. Cozy living room with a propane fireplace. Several pleasant independent areas outside including the fire pit, barbecue/dining area, a sun deck, and wonderful hot tub deck with Adirondack chairs. I was impressed by the thoughtful safety features, including handholds, railings, retractable baby/dog gates, easily accessible fire extinguishers, etc. The owner has gone to great lengths to make this beach home convenient, safe and pleasant for guests. We will be back! (My sons say they would give it a 10 star review if they could).

We stayed here for a staff retreat. The kitchen was very well stocked with appliances, utensils and aside from food, it had everything we needed. The home was warm, cozy and decorated very nicely. It was clean. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Just perfect for us and our 2 dogs. Really like that this is a pet friendly home. Good location about ⅓ mile from the beach, although we never walked it. Hot tub is a very nice feature but we never got a chance to use it with so much going on. One of the dog gates was not working but we contacted management so it maybe fixed by now. These gates help keep your dogs on the massive deck area as long as they aren't jumpers. There was a problem with really small ants, but only if you leave food out, otherwise you won't see them.
10.0
Gorgeous house, with a massive wrap around deck. The hot tub is built in to the deck, and was wonderful for a soak. The house is like any other beach house, expect some creaks and croaks. If you're a light sleeper, I suggest one of the two upper bedrooms. Great water pressure in the showers. The living room is on the smaller side, which might be a consideration. However the kitchen table is massive, and great for group chats and board games. Only an 8 minute walk to the strip, for coffee, pizza, or groceries. 10 minute walk to the beach.

Myself, four family members and our pup had a wonderful stay at the given property. The house has everything you need to be comfortable and the outside amenities cannot be beat. The home offers a 5 minute walk to the beach and town as well as easy access some of Oregon’s most beautiful trials and beaches. Hope to be back again!

Positives: quiet neighborhood, house was clean, modern, comfortable and well kept, new hot tub with wraparound deck with ample outdoor seating, 10 minute walk to beach and town.
Negatives: Furnishings were mainly Ikea or equivalent. Most uncomfortable mattress (Ikea) we have ever slept on. There was no window covering, curtain or shade on the west facing 8' sliding door in the living room which made it almost impossible to sit and talk in the afternoon let alone watch TV prior to sunset due to bright sun coming through glass sliding door. Both TVs were small screens. Amenities were minimal. Low cost small tubes of shampoo, conditioner and bar soap. No puzzles, games, playing cards or books anywhere. In general it felt like owners/management were into penny pinching. This would all be OK for Motel 6 but not mid-high end vacation rental. These issues could all be resolved by spending a few bucks on upgrades in all these areas.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Madrona Ridge. My 3-year old grandson enjoyed the sand toys and under porch hide away. He had his first s’more at the fire pit! The only glitch was the wireless service. It was not at all efficient or an easy router to reset. The Sunset Vacation Rentals staff are top notch. The Manzanita community is welcoming.

Overall a very charming updated cabin within 5 minutes of town and the beach. Nice touches for our dog including water and food bowls, sheets and towels to dry and cover furniture. There was no cable with local TV which I expect at this price point but streaming services available. House was mostly clean but a few important exceptions. There was sand between sheets in the bed (really bad) and visibly missed cleaning several places like window sills, baseboards, etc. Looking forward to deck and hot tub being completed, may give it another try if cleaner.

The Madrona property did not disappoint. Wonderful walking access to the beach sunsets were the best part of this experience. The property was spotless and provided a true vacation like setting while feeling like we weren't too far from the comforts of your own home. We would stay again, and again, and again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay in the madrona Ridge property. The house was impeccably clean, which was very reassuring due to Co-Vid 19. The house is stylishly furnished, and very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked all our meals in. We especially liked the fire pit and used that each night. I highly recommend, we would stay here again!

We had a great time at Madrona Ridge. This house has been recently updated inside. Very clean and all the amenities needed to have a relaxing stay. There was even firewood under the porch. Who can ask for more. Definitely recommend to anyone. We will be back for sure.

The four of us plus 2 dogs enjoyed our relaxing stay. We barbequed on the delightful patio and sipped wine before dinner. We bought firewood to use in the wonderful firepit, then laughed when we found plenty of wood under the front porch! The rooms were very comfortable, and the house was great with our 2 older dogs...loved the dog blanket and towel basket! We are very familiar with Manzanita and really love the Madrona Ridge area. It was a lovely, relaxing get-away!

Wonderful!!! Sunset Vacation Rentals is great. This house is beautiful decorated as a beach retreat. With new state of the art appliances and comfortable furnishings. It was very clean and conveniently located. An easy walk to town or the beach. The front porch is awesome for relaxing in an Adirondack chair and feeling the ocean breeze. The beds were very comfortable which made for a great night sleep. We will be coming back!

Very cute and updated home. Cozy and comfortable. Loved the little fireplace and the stove was great for cooking.
The house doesn’t provide spices cooking supplies so bring your own!!
Only recommendation would be to have some games/cards around for those rainy coastal days.
