My family of 4 (2 adults, 10yo, 8yo) rented this cabin as a weekend getaway. It was fantastic. The place is small but fit the 4 of us just great. We spent all waking hours outside by the water. It was 4th of July weekend which you'd think would mean lots of boat traffic but I have to say, it was pretty quiet on the water compared to many other lakes we've been to. An occasional tuber or jet skiier but more peaceful than many lakes, especially close to the cities. We canoed, kayaked, and brought our own stand up paddle boards. The lily pad was great for the kids. The fishing off the dock is exceptional. Large northern can be caught casting straight out from the dock, load up on those nightcrawlers! And the kids were catching loads of sunnies. We intended to check out the park nearby based on other reviews but ended up keeping ourselves too busy fishing and on the water. Would love to stay here again.

Nice casual cabin for family to enjoy lakeside relaxing

Invited our family to share Wild West Days with us. We all found this perfectly imperfect cabin to be on a sandy bottom lake, with easy fishing, and fabulous views. The comfort of grandpa’s cabin in every aspect. It was like grandpa was at home and lended you his cabin. It was stocked with the swim trunks you forgot to pack. The shallow lake gets warmer early, go swimming!! The dock is perfect for fishing. The canoe and 2 man paddle boat were perched waiting for us to slip them into the water. So, we did! Grandpa would have wanted us to anyways.
Kind of want to keep this nugget a secret so we can bring the grandkids back every season.

Perfect little rustic cabin ... with an updated bathroom and kitchen. Reminded me of Summers at Grandpa's Cabin as a kid. Enjoyed it with my two adult daughters and Grandson (9 months). It was perfectly setup with everything you need (plus). They had a nice Pack-n-Play for my Grandson and a walker that he could easily scoot around the cabin in. I'm looking forward to bringing my husband there in the Fall for some fishing. The hosts answered questions quickly ... thank you!

While traveling to a wedding my family of three and my mother-in-law rented this rustic little jewel on the water. It was the perfect little getaway from the Vegas heat! Amazing views of the lake just wish the windows were one nice big picture window, but nonetheless we were able to enjoy the lake from afar due to uncooperative weather! Really wish we had been able to enjoy the deck and dock a little more! The kitchen is well stocked with everything and then some that you could need while on a short getaway. The owner mentioned they will be putting a welcome book together which will be helpful for those visiting the area for the first time, we left a few extra pamphlets behind as there are some amazing parks about an hour's drive away on the MN/WI border. The fall colors were amazing. We loved the decor, it is a little man- cave'esk. If we ever head back to the area we would cerainly stay here again!

Wonderful property with amenities and restaurants close by. Was exactly what we needed for a long weekend. Communication with owner was excellent.

We rented this cabin for a little relaxing getaway before our children started school. We were hoping for some good ol’ family bonding and good fishing. It did not disappoint!
We pulled into the cabin late. Even in the dark we could tell that this cabin was not like the cabins surrounding it. This is a true cabin nestled between beautiful new lake homes. But it’s ok, your not here for a fancy lake home.
The cabin has some nice updates, everything you’ll need in the kitchen and a nice bathroom, but it still has that cozy cabin feel. There are lots of amenities to this place that you don’t always find at a rental such as supplied soap, towels, shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and even food items.
Let’s head outside, THIS is what you came for! Although the lake is a recreational lake and it was a holiday weekend, it was VERY quiet. We saw a handful of pontoons, a few fishing boats and two jet skis. We didn’t bring any water toys but that didn’t stop our family from enjoying the lake. You’ll have use of a Lilly pad, canoe, kayak, paddle boat and other beach toys. The paddle boat is a little difficult to steer but just go, take it out, you’ll have a blast struggling to figure it out. Paddle straight out from the dock and start casting. You’ll likely reel in a few northerns and a bass or two. If you don’t have the patience for that just put a small chunk of worm on a hook and drop it to the right of the dock. Before the line settles you’ll have a sunny hooked. When the sun goes down, you’ll start reeling in catfish.
Between taking pictures of all the fish you reel in, you’ll want to be ready at about 7:30 to get all those family photos as the sun sets behind you. It truly is breathtaking!
Finish your day with a fire, pre set up by the host OR go into the cabin and relive your twenties with a dart board tournament! If darts aren’t your cup of tea, there’s also a large selection of games including 90’s trivia, cards, dominos and candyland.
A hidden little gem we weren’t expecting was a nice, easy 2 mile walking trail about 4 blocks from the cabin. It provided a good break from fishing.
Stop on your way to the cabin at Tales and Trails in Zimmerman for minnows or grab some worms at the Holiday station. You’ll need them!
This vacation was just what we needed and we look forward to visiting again, maybe this winter for some ice fishing. Thanks for the fun Lake Fremont!

We had a great time at the lake cabin.

We really enjoyed the view of the lake from the deck & fire pit. Dock was safe and water was clear.

Upon arrival, everything was organized and clean. During the day our boys loved playing with the lilli pad and kayak, and my wife and I enjoyed the canoe. In the evening fishing off the dock was fun and the sunsets were beautiful. At night we enjoyed playing board games and their beds were comfortable to sleep on. We are excited to return next summer!

As you approach you may feel a little hesitant but step inside it will be just fine. Well stocked kitchen with dishwasher including canned goods and condiments. Area to relax with TV when need to escape inside. Beds are stiff but serviceable and there’s an air mattress but we didn’t use it. Nice deck and steps down to the water including a fire pit. Kids loved to Lilly pad and played in the water. There’s a shed next to the property that includes the water toys and a bike. Inside there are fishing poles and bait on the deck. No Wi-Fi that we could tell or receive. We had brought our own bike and explored the trail system as well which is maybe 1/2 mile from the house. Had a nice relaxing rural time at the lake, would definitely return again.

Place was tiny, very old, neighbors were strange and very nosy. Bed was uncomfortable. The front door opens easily from the inside and with small children it was a safety hazard. There isn’t much of a yard. The Wi-Fi was terrible and wouldn’t connect. Not a very peaceful stay.

Pleasant surprise.
My family (husband and four kids) stayed here for a weekend. When we opened the door (the outside looked in need of a paint job) and saw the house we all agreed it was perfect. We had everything we would need and more stocked in the kitchen. Two bedrooms for my husband and I and one for the older children. They had an air mattress for the little kids which worked well for them. Their is a window air unit which was great since it was really hot outside during our weekend stay. Sitting room for many. The kids loved the canoe and the lily pad- we really enjoyed fishing from the canoe! We had two boats we brought and there was room for parking both the vehicles and trailers. The boat launch is five houses down so that was convenient. The lake is full of bass and northern and it was a blast catching so many fish. We caught sunnies, northern and bass from the dock! The island and sandbar was awesome! The fire pit and seating around outside was great as well. There is nice shade off the deck. Our family didn’t want to leave on Sunday; we could have stayed a few more days! We would stay again!
