About this cottage rental
Magnolia Cottage is a beautiful and welcoming three-bedroom semi-detached cottage built from local stone and brick. It gets its name from the magnificent Magnolia tree in the cottage style garden that it is truly beautiful when in bloom.
The cottage is located on the corner of Wyke Oliver Rd and Preston Rd (B3155) a main thoroughfare into Weymouth, just 2 miles to Weymouth Town Centre, Harbour and Award-Winning Sandy Beach, an ideal spot for a family holiday or couples alike. Weymouth is situated on The World Heritage Jurassic Coast which stretches for 96 miles along the south coast. It has many attractions to offer during your stay including The Sea Life Centre, Fantasy Island theme park, Weymouth Harbour and the 3 miles of Weymouth's fabulous sandy beach. Why not enjoy a stroll along the sea front and stop for lunch or dinner in one of the many eateries Weymouth has to offer or you may want to take a stroll to the RSPB Lodmoor, home to an abundance of wildlife or to the Jurassic Coast Activities centre for the more adventurous members of the family. Weymouth has so much to offer and there really is something for everyone to enjoy!
When you arrive at the cottage, you enter via the porch, an ideal area to store those muddy walking boots or buckets and spades. The sitting room is cosy and comfortable with a stone fire place and a multi-fuel burning stove, 3- piece suite, smart TV (FreeSat and Netflix). By the large patio windows, you will find a dining area flooded with natural light and views of the garden, a large dining table to seat 6 people and toy chest with a selection of jigsaw puzzles and games. A great spot to relax after a busy day exploring and enjoying the great outdoors. The cosy yet spacious master bedroom with king-size bed is located on the first floor along with a small double bedroom and family bathroom with walk-in shower and WC. There is a comfortable ground floor double bedroom and a modern ground floor bathroom with shower over full-size bath and WC.
If you can tear yourself away from all that the cottage and Weymouth has to offer, why not take a short drive to the world-famous Isle of Portland, Portland castle and Portland Bill. Or to the West side of Weymouth, where you can find the picturesque village of Abbotsbury, with its Sub-Tropical Gardens, Swannery, Tithe Barn, children's farm and tea rooms. Maybe you could venture a little further afield to the Saxon walled town of Wareham where you will find many more eateries, weekly farmers market and a lovely quay. A little further on towards the Isle of Purbeck and Swanage you will find Corfe Castle, the charming Dorset village with a ruined castle for you to explore.
If sandy beaches are the main reason for your family holiday, Dorset has many to offer. Weymouth with its miles of golden sand and safe swimming water is tough to beat, but why not seek out some other sandy havens that are only a short distance away. Studland, Sandbanks, Bournemouth, Swanage are all within a car journey and be sure to catch a traditional seaside Punch and Judy show at Swanage and Weymouth!
