Amazing staff, location and all!

Amazing stay, the rooms are wonderful, we slept so well. The hotel staff are all jolly and welcoming, from check in to the bar and restaurant upstairs.

Staff was excellent! Room was beautiful and comfortable.

The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly! Beautiful rooms and amazing restaurant! I will highly recommend this hotel!

Great property with a great staff. Excellent attention to details. But plaza del Carmen was a construction zone and in rough shape. Location is central and near all the touristy sites. Pool area and gym are on the small side but otherwise everything was great.

Right in the heart of where you need to see Madrid

The rooftop pool deck is amazing! The rooms are clean and modern. The staff was friendly but not enough English speakers. The location is very walkable but they should have informed people of the massive construction on the plaza where the hotel is located. It was loud, dusty and not attractive. Finally, at departure we asked reception to get us a taxi to the train station, showed them out ticket and they spoke to taxi driver (because none of them speak English) and we were taken to the wrong station (they took us to one 30 min from city when our train departed from the one in city center) and we missed our train. When we tried to call hotel for assistance, no one answers phone at front desk. This left us with bad feelings about our stay.

We’ve just got back home from this trip and we were delighted after staying in this property.
Highlights: Easy check in, spacious room with terrace.
Location is awesome. In between the two main areas of interest and Right next to plaza del Sol.
Downs: our first option for the room was to has city views therefore we’ve decided for the room with a balcony but after realizing how small the balcony is we switched to go with the king bedroom with terrace. On this platform and on the official website all the (scarce) pictures mislead you into believing the terraces have city view. Only after checking in we’ve found out there are balconies with no view at all but a tall wall even though I couldn’t find a statement in the descriptions about the possibility of having terrace with no view.
It felt shady.
Staff training also would be appreciated as the bar man at pool bar seemed to not have much clue of what he was doing and the door man simply answered “impossible” with not much of initiative after asking for a taxi on a rainy day at check out. Eventually another guys got us a taxi.
Hotel is compact yet (not super) luxurious and has a nice rooftop.

Thompson Hotel was a great location. Everything was delightful.
3.0
The location was perfect for walking around the city. Front desk staff were helpful. The room was great and the design of the hotel was wonderful, as expected.
On the downside, the rooftop looks wonderful but was under construction and inaccessible. We weren’t advised when booking. Cleaning staff were somewhat rude. There were also a lot of weird noises at night (doors slamming, thuds, and running water).
If I could, I’d give it a 3.5.

One of the best to stay in Madrid, they gave my parents a 10/10 experience will come back for sure.

It was a great location with friendly and helpful staff.
Place was very well kept and would highly reccommend.
There is a construction site at the time of our stay in front of the building but definitely would not let that affect choosing this hotel

Beautiful boutique hotel, great rooms/suites, well kept and maintained. Centrally located. The in-house bar, restaurants, and breakfast were great. The accommodated a late checkout at no additional cost. The concierge was very helpful finding reservations for dinner and parties New Year’s Eve which was a tall order. They also had a small cocktail party and NYE event at the hotel which were lovely and also complementary.
Highly recommended.

Construction across the street could not get 1 minute of sleep. Hotel should have stated this before booking.

Incredible location, walking distance from Madrid’s city Centre. Hard to access by car/taxi.
4.0
The room was comfortable and clean but for the price I would stay elsewhere. Hard to reach by cab, surround by construction zone, massive crowds on Gran via. Not a great choice

All of the staff are super helpful, they will tell you about places to go eat how to get a taxi there they will call taxis for you, and they always always always open the door for you. The rooms are spacious. The rooms are clean and the breakfast in the Omar restaurant is delicious.

Excellent stay. Best location, quiet but right in the midst of Madrid centro. Friendliest staff and room was very spacious. Love having the room re-set after siestas. Would stay here again.

Front desk staff was great. Lobby bar staff also great. Hijos de Tomas (basement cocktail bar) did not know how to make any of their signature cocktails, which was odd.
Breakfast at Otto was good.
Rooftop bar and pool deck was closed without any reason given, which was pretty frustrating given how significantly it is used in the promo images and marketing for the hotel.
Housekeeping staff could use some retraining - a housekeeper tried to bar entry from our room (we unlocked with a key) when she was cleaning the room when we needed to enter to drop off some items and collect items from the safe. She was relatively rude about it as well, which was frustrating given the cost and positioning of this hotel brand.
The property itself is excellent, the location is excellent, the bed is comfortable, and the room is stylish. I'm not sure if I would choose it over the Edition again though.

Amazing hotel, 5 star experience. Clean rooms, nice bathrooms, comfortable pillows

For a five stars hotel, we felt like service was rushed at the reception and in particular the breakfast restaurant.

I had an amazing stay at the Thompson! The room was spacious, clean, and felt very luxurious. The included breakfast was incredible. The hotel staff were super friendly, kind, and welcoming. Camilla in reception was an especially warm and helpful person during my stay. The service overall was attentive and thoughtful. The location was incredibly walkable and convenient. The Thompson was an incredible way to kick off my trip in Madrid. Very highly recommend and would stay again!

Amazing Staff and Gorgeous Hotel !!!

Thompson Madrid is an excellent hotel. Located in the heart of Madrid, this 5 star hotel offers the visitor practically everything. From high end rooms, excellent facilities, a pool and excellent breakfast. The location is superb. Between Gran via and puerta de sol, everything is in reachable distance. Shops, restaurants, attractions - it’s all there. We were there for 6 nights as a couple and our 7 months old daughter and it was an amazing and positive experience. A word about the stuff - very caring, smiling and professional stuff. From the reception to the breakfast team, and not to forget the great guest service desk whose employees are always there with every matter you might have. Special thanks to Andrea who fixed us with the best dining options! We really felt like a family for the time spent there. We will definitely go back to this hotel. Hopefully soon :)

Nice ambience for the hotel, roof top swimming pool was great.

Great new designer hotel in the centre of town. The area next to the hotel is still under renovation but doesn't impact the hotel experience. Great breakfast and the swimming pool / roof top bar is a plus, especially for an evening drink (too hot to use during the day).
