Website and hotel.com listing showed option for a king size and pull out couch but when we arrived we’re told that option is not available. Two queens were offered but this was not ideal. I paid extra for an upgraded room. Usually stay here when we visit Greer but will look elsewhere from now on.

Easy to check in, very friendly staff, great food and adult beverages!

Great place to eat for lunch! Definitely needs an update when it comes to the rooms. A little pricey for what you get

Great place to get away. Loved the area

We loved the location & views. The woman in charge appeared very capable & helpful. It would have been convenient to have an ice machine we could use. Our room had a seating area, a mini fridge & microwave which was nice. Although the German themed food was good, options for basic American cusine would have been appreciated.

Poor hallway lighting. Tub setup needed better grab bars for seniors

A far as we could tell, they were staffed by 2 people. When we checked in they’re put us in an occupied room. It would have been really odd if the people were there when we opened the door. The place was dirty. We were excited when we saw the restaurant menu and looking forward to having authentic Hungarian food, but after seeing how dirty the bar area was, including an over filled trash can we decided to eat elsewhere. They didn’t have bottled water or air conditioning, and nobody was there to let know we were checking out. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend.

It’s a very relaxing atmosphere with beautiful surroundings.

No one at front desk when we arrived at 6pm, called the number provided on counter, but no answer. Bartender eventually came and checked us in. She collected $25 from each of us as an extra housekeeping charge. ? No breakfast provided, not even 'continental' as advertised. TV didn't work. Housekeeping never visited our room once, despite the extra charge. The king-sized bed's mattress sagged on both sides, from previous guests, I assume. Our room amenities listed a 'hot tub'... no such thing. No bath mat in the tub, which was quite slippery. Not even a box of Kleenex in the room.

We rented a two bedroom cabin. It was old but reasonably well kept. It was clean and warm. The outside veranda was very nice.
The owners were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was plentiful. The restaurant was excellent for dinner. The food was amazing and delicious.
We plan to return.

The Greer is beautiful. We had a wonderful weather and views were gorgeous. We met very friendly people with many dogs which was wonderful, but the quality of the hotel was not very good. There were no informations about places to eat or what to see. The food in their restaurant did not measure up to the prices they had. Our room did not have a night lamp and they forgot about coffee filters. There was one person who was doing everything - front desk, restaurant etc so when we had a question it was very hard to find somebody with the answer. We drove for 5 hrs to get there and pay $50 for a dog, which was half of the total price so we expected better service.

a quiet, spacious lodge on the southern edge of town. nestled amongst the forest, with direct access to a walking track along the east fork of the Little Colorado River. if you enjoy waking up to the sounds of nature and taking life at a relaxed pace, this place is perfect. as a bonus, the German restaurant menu is delicious

The advertised breakfast was almost nonexistent. Cold cereal, old bread. Went the 1st morning. Didn’t go again. Comfortable bed. Would check for other arrangements next visit to the area.

Our check in person was lacking customer service. Could not find key. The key did not fit when she found and had to go back again. Did not have something to start fireplace with. Person did not go over property and amenities that were attached to place.

Staff said 2 words to us upon checkin after I had to call them to the desk because nobody was there. On top of all this there was no power at the property and it was 20 degrees out. On top of that they charged me an additional $40 saying it was for the wood I had to use that they provided for fireplace in the cabin. All this was blown off and no help was issued at all I would not recommend this property for anybody to book with if I ever am asked.

Newer property, with a great location in the heart of Greer. Not exactly a Resort as their Name indicates because this property is set up with a limited staff and services. However, they do offer a limit continental breakfast, plus a bar and German Restaurant each afternoon and evening with good beer and delicious food! Nice folks, too! This is a good value for Greer! Thanks!

The staff were very nice and the food served in their restaurant was wonderful!!

Lack of communication with staff was a little weird, who ever lives on the third floor makes a lot of loud stomping until about 10:45. All in all it was ok for the stay but don’t expect to speak to staff with issues. I saw one person momentarily on check in.

Nice and quiet in German style.

Very relaxing and the food was fantastic.
It was comfortable and has a great location.
Very nice sun deck to enjoy the views and a cold beverage.
The property looked to me like it was undergoing some needed maintenance.
We were there on week days so staffing was minimal but did a good job keeping up with
customer service. I would definitely stay there again. The room was priced right and pet friendly. (Bonus) There is a user friendly hiking trail right off of the parking lot or a close walk to the village.

We did a little Girls’ Getaway, and this place was perfect! It was quiet, the staff was very accommodating of our needing a new DVD player and locking ourselves out of our cabin and wanting extra blankets, and we had a relaxing evening enjoying one another’s company.

great view from our window of trees, and only trees

Edelweiss is in need of major renovation. It is a tired poorly maintained facility made more problematic by understaffing. Upon entering the building you notice cobwebs, dead flowers and trash cans in need of emptying.
There are no people to talk to about basic questions that should be outlined in a packet normally placed in your room. Since there are no phones in the rooms, questions must be addressed when & if you find an employee. The "rec room" is certainly a "wreck". Dirty and totally non-functional. A good number of the German beers on the beer list are not in stock. Upon noting no hand soap in the common restrooms, we opted not to chance eating at the restaurant thinking that staff would not be washing hands properly. Also, if the beers could not be kept in stock, just how old was the food from the kitchen? The "breakfast"was basically non-existent consisting of dirty almost empty cereal containers, a few packets of oatmeal, some hard bagels and a gallon jug of milk that was past expiration. Also, if you did opt for cereal, there were no spoons. Plenty of knives & forks. Wow!
There are far better choices for lodging. Avoid this one for sure.(ps...since they have a no refund policy you are pretty much stuck unless you want to throw away the money you spent...DO NOT Believe the outdated website!)

Excellent customer services and excellent hotel in Greer. One of few available online to book.

I only saw lodging staff at check in. Otherwise staff were never around and the main room was often darkened and uninviting. Rooms were very clean. TV had no reception. Continental breakfast was poorly stocked.

Crazy. Just crazy.

They advertised breakfast included. Not there. Dusty room. No glass or cup - had to search empty hotel to find. They do not respond to my queries. Several attempts to reach them. Wifi PW was not provided. Key was in an envelope with my name on it on check in desk. One one attempted to reach me in any way. Felt unwelcome. Also was apparently alone in the building all night.

Beds were clean, bathroom clean, floors were not. The cabin needs maintenance! The fireplace did not work properly and the fire alarm went off every 15 minutes unless we had the door open and window to vent. Couldn’t sleep with a fire going. Only hot water enough for one person. The continental breakfast wasn’t a breakfast! It had wrapped muffins (one kind), hard boiled eggs, two stale cereals, stale bagels, and spoiled expired milk! Very disappointed in our stay! Nobody there on check in, you had to call a number for help. Oh and our front door didn’t lock! You could push the door right open! Not going to stay there again unfortunately.

Short staffed during our visit.

No one was at the hotel when we arrived. The front door was ajar, so we went in. No lights were on. We walked all around the ground floor and shouted - no one was there. We walked to the restaurant. A note was posted on a dark door written it yellow marker - stating the restaurant and bar were closed on the 23rd & 24th. We did not know what to do. Finally, while snooping at a counter of the front office (no lights), we found an envelope with our name on it. No temperature control in our room. We were there 2 days and saw exactly 2 people.

Good location and environment. Quiet natural setting.
New management needs help in cleaning cabins.
Plan to stay at Edelweiss again. Positives out weigh the negatives.

Was fairly quiet except sometimes for people coming in & out the front entrance. The housekeeper does their job well, however Room 202 has a weird smell in it that seems like a combination of smoke(of some kind) and sweat(which may've been a dog). The floor was also creaky... especially under the bathroom tub. The Breakfast Room isn't always open between 7am-9am. I didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but I was told by my brother that the sausages were mediocre; however, the potatoes, cabbage, and sauerkraut were great in a authentic German way.
The view is great on the main lobby/restaurant side. They offered free wifi, though it wasn't that fast. There was DirectTV and a good 40in TV in the room along with a coffee maker.
The resort has a lot of potential, but it needs some work and a couple more workers. If I stayed again, it'd be in another room.
