A wonderful cottage for up to six people and two dogs with free parking and a very short walk to the town, the market, churches and the Convention. It was a bit of a military operation for so many people with just one shower/ bath, but there were two toilets. The stairs were a bit steep for some. The staff at Keswick Cottages were close by and excellent, patiently listening and responding quickly to our requests and suggestions

Lovely cottage, great location. One or two things needing attention such as the kettle didn't work, neither did the tin opener. Also the heating controller was flashing some sort of error so we couldn't get that on. Really enjoyed our stay though and we'd go back.

This was our first time staying in Acorn Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited over the Easter break and the weather was v mixed so it was so nice to come back to somewhere cosy and warm. A little welcome pack provided (tea/coffee/biscuits) and some washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, oven gloves, tea towels also supplied. A good porch for dirty walking boots etc. Plenty of room in the living room for 6 people with 2 large sofas and a chair and separate spacious dining room. The bedrooms were lovely with comfy beds, a small bathroom but perfectly adequate and plenty of hot water. The kitchen is also small but well equipped tho could do with a bread knife, and is generally in need of an update. I found some dirty bowls and plates in the cupboards but put this down to previous occupants not checking them when taking them out of the dishwasher, as they were still wet too. We didn't use to the utility area or back yard but useful to have if needed. Location is fantastic as very close to the shops (5 minute walk) and loads of walks from the doorstep. Parking was a bit of an issue for us as there was no space in front of the cottage when we first arrived so had to unload the car from over the street in the wet which wasn't great. Realise it was Easter week so very busy but a shame there isn't an allocated space for the cottage. Despite this however we did have a great holiday and absolutely loved the cottage. Thanks very much.

Pleasant stay, great location close to everything. Property is clean and comfy, stayed before and would definitely stay again. Only issue is with the gate at the side to the rear doesn't close properly and dogs can get out onto the road.

Good size cottage, ideal for two small families.plenty of space for everyone. Nice little welcome pack to start us off. Location ideal for walking into Keswick. Could do with more up to date central heating instructions - we were sweating during the night & couldn’t figure out how to turn it off!

Check-in was a bit late in the afternoon (4pm), I have seen other reviews saying this also. Very large lounge with 2 comfy sofas and 1armchair, armchair could do with clearing out as had lots of food debris caught down the side of the cushions. Kitchen was very small, house is for 6 and it was definitely not big enough for that many in the kitchen. There was far too much china in the cupboards, far too excessive for only 6 people. This meant there was no cupboard space for any food we bought with us. A wooden cupboard in the kitchen has items like a fish platter dish. I think a de clutter of some items in the cupboard would be ideal. Outside is a small courtyard which was very messy with broken hose and dog bowls. Also the exterior of the courtyard had rotten wood on the exterior. This we felt could have been tidier. The bathroom was also very small and I think if you have slight mobility problems you would struggle to get out of the bath. The 2 main bedrooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable beds. We hunted for the hoover so we could clear up properly before we left, the information folder on the shelf in the dining room advised it was in a cupboard in the dining room, It wasn't there but in a cupboard on the 1st floor. This needs to be updated. Also the hoover smelt a bit foisty and damp. We did also find the little notes up on the walls advising what not to do was a little intimidating. All in all we enjoyed our week in the house. Just a little de clutter in the kitchen would be our main gripe. Being so close to the town is obviously a big advantage and being January we had no problem parking out side the house all week
