About this house rental
Come enjoy our family home on an amazing acre of forest. Bring the whole family and your friends; with two bedrooms and a large lower level game/media room with bunk beds, you'll have plenty of space to stretch out inside. Enjoy the impressive backyard vista while sipping your favorite beverage on the spacious wraparound deck. Close to Arnold dining, Bear Valley skiing, Murphys shopping & wineries, as well as endless hiking and exploring at Calaveras Big Trees State Park and surrounding.
The open floor plan main level of the home features seating for up to 10 at the Thanksgiving-worthy dining table with additional kitchen countertop seating. Our place is stocked with games and a kickin sound system & Smart TV to keep the good times rolling upstairs, or pop some popcorn and head down to the lower level to fire up a movie on the 65" smart TV. For summer guests, no need to worry about the Arnold heat waves - our Central A/C keeps you cool throughout the whole house. For our winter guests, a wood burning stove keeps the main room nice and toasty on cold nights (we provide fire starters and plenty of firewood) while you play games around the table, relax on the couches for movie night, or curl up in the reading nook. On chilly winter days the central heat & wood stove will keep you comfortable. For snowy mountain fun, you can drive 30-45 minutes up the highway to Bear Valley.
All the beds are made with clean duvet covers so you never have to worry about the cleanliness of any of the bedding. The master bedroom is outfitted with a luxury California king mattress and all of the beds have high quality linens and mattresses.
You'll have access to the two car garage where you can charge up your electric vehicle on the level two 220 volt charger, wash your clothes in the front-load Samsung washer and dryer, or open up the ping pong table to find out who's got the best forehand smash in the family. Summer and winter excursion gear will be waiting for you there as well with sleds, tubes, noodles, folding chairs a cooler, and ice packs. You’ll also find a size large collapsible dog kennel, a dog bed, and a dog dish if you decide to bring a goodboy or a goodgirl along ($60 per pup, max 2). Unlike many Arnold rentals, we provide garbage service for our guests, so no need to haul your trash out.
When you're ready to experience the outdoors, head out to the expansive deck to take in the views from 25 feet up under the shade of the incense cedar. Next take the kids and the dog down to the back of the property to explore the acre of nature and find endless opportunities for imaginative play and some truly epic sledding terrain.

The property was great. The only complaints were the toilet seat in the master bedroom was loose. My son found a half eaten apple under the second upstairs bedroom. It would have been nice to have a screen door in the master bedroom so we could have cooled off our bedroom better. There was a lot more traffic on the road than we expected on Saturday.

I visit Arnold once a year with the family and each time I choose a different cabin. This property is perfectly located nestled in Arnold’s nature and quiet neighborhood. It’s less than a mile away from a shopping center. That is very convenient when you’re traveling with kids and forget something :-) it is also very close to Calaveras Big Trees and just about a 30 minute drive to the snow parks such as Spicer or up a bit more to Bear Valley. I appreciate all the room and space that it had for my family, downstairs alone could sleep 6 with four bunkbeds, and a couch. Not to mention the two private bedrooms on the main floor that can sleep 2 people each with beautiful views to wake up to out your windows. The house is stocked well with linens, towels, kitchen needs and more! Plenty of games and toys for the family. The air was fresh and the nature was stunning! We all really enjoyed our time! Until next year ❤️

We had a wonderful stay. Everything was clean and well equipped. We like to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and the wood stove kept us cozy. We followed the hosts advice and got snow park passes at Ebbert’s Pass Sporting Goods. The wifi worked great and so did the sound system. We couldn’t ask for more!

We had a lovely long weekend at “An Acre of Nature”. Dee Dee was great to work with, she sent us a lot of information about the house and check-in was super easy. The house was very clean and very well furnished with pots and pans/ linens/pet supplies. They even provided firewood. The view off the back deck is beautiful.

We spent another weekend visiting our daughter in the area. We had an issue with the dryer but the owners sent over their handyman and he fixed it right away! Looking forward staying here again!

We were in the area to visit our daughter who works nearby. The location was perfect and very easy to get to. Home is as advertised - the AC works wonderfully keeping us cool in 100+ degree weather. Our dog loved roaming and exploring the property. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

A very pleasant and peaceful cabin. It's conveniently located near Arnold and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Our 12 year old really appreciated the downstairs room as it was fully set up for kids with bunk beds, games, smart tv, etc

We had a wonderfull time at the cabin. It had just snowed several feet and we were able to make some great memories sledding with our little ones in the backyard. We had 4 adults and 5 children and we had more than enough room for everyone to be comfy. Everything was clean and there were plenty of linnens for all of our needs. I'm sure we will be back!

DeeDee was extremely responsive and always got back to me immediately.
Property was great. Very clean! And fully stocked with everything you could need! Including the smallest touches like plenty of bath and hand towels, and so many toys for the kids, books, games, snow sleds. Even a cooler and ice packs for day trips!
If you are considering this rental then absolutely don’t hesitate! It’s a gem!
Thank you DeeDee for making our mini vacation that much better. ♥️

The cabin in Arnold was a nice getaway for New Years. While we were hoping for snow, Mother Nature had other plans. We still enjoyed relaxing in from of the wood burning fire place. DeeDee was very responsive and check in was easy.

Hi DeeDee, We couldn’t have asked for a nicer home for our mini get away. It was also a great house for our granddaughters—downstairs with bunk beds, games and tv. We hope to revisit in the summer!

We had a great stay at this family friendly house. Our kids loved the downstairs setup with lots of toys, games and books. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed and made meals a breeze. The house was clean and had every amenity we needed to enjoy our family time together. We have nothing but great things to say about the house and the attentive responses of the host, we would highly recommend.

Home was beautiful and well kept. Plenty of things to occupy our time though we mostly chose to relish in the peaceful quiet of nature. A/C was nice given that it was a bit warmer than expected during the day. Owner was very responsive and home was well stocked. Neighbors were a bit noisy during the day with fixing motorcycles but otherwise all was quiet.
Overall it was a great place to relax and get away. Would definitely book again!
