With its sublime blue and white azulejos-clad exterior, this chic apartment set smack bang in the middle of the happening Santos district is everything you'd imagined your Lisbon bolthole to be. Set in one of the city's oldest neighbourhoods, Santos has shed its stuffy aristocratic beginnings to become one of the city's favourite hangouts, and we couldn't love it more. Think glossy shops, buzzy eateries, and see-and-be-seen clubs to keep the night flowing. When it's time for a change of scene, the cobbled streets of Avenida da Liberdade –⁠ regarded as Lisbon's chicest street –⁠ and the dizzy heights of Basílica da Estrela are within walking distance. Or hop on the nearby tram to uncover other corners of the city. Back at home, we adore how light-filled the apartment feels, thanks to those dual-aspect windows. Part of a collection of exclusive holiday rentals in the building, they've packed some serious character and soul into the home with mid-century-inspired furniture and accents of marine blue to perfectly echo the building's blue and white exterior and the nearby waterfront. Get together for lazy breakfasts around the dining table with a view (the sound system will bring the ambience), or catch up on emails with freshly brewed coffee at the handy dedicated desk.
