Nice swimming pool
Staff were very welcoming
The property was quite out of the way, and not very well signposted for the entrance. We had to drive around the road twice before we ended up having to call the property.
Great if you are going into the golf course, next door. Quite far from city centre.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Dar Maktoub. It is a small hotel which made our stay there feel very personal.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel was elegantly designed and beautifully landscaped. Everywhere was spotless, the food was delicious and the pool was perfect for us to relax beside and play in.
We were provided with good recommendations of where to go and what to do. We did consider hiring a car but it was easier and less stressful to use a taxi and all the organised activities we did came to Dar Maktoub to pick us up and drop us off. If necessary the hotel would book activities or call taxis. Nothing was too much trouble.
Dar Maktoub was the perfect place for our Moroccan adventure and to spend valuable family time making memories together.
There is nothing we didn’t like

Only the water of the pool was good.
Everything else is very awful at that hotel.
Paying a week before is also not the standard in Morrocco. You would not pay, if you could pay after your stay.
The garden is neglected. There is no service, no stuff at that hotel. Maybe 1-2 man are there. You do not see anybody of the stuff. The chef of the kitchen is coming for 2h at the evening. The food was disgusting. Otherwise there is no food available - only alcoholic and soft drinks are available. The hotel is dirty, cockroaches are everywhere. No service at all. A camping side is even better. The transfer to the airport is not fair - oversized vehicles …

The garden, the pool, the personal, the breakfast. 😋 👌
The room was to close to the main road, so it was very loud. There are better positioned rooms as well.

Excellent service and space. The breakfast was abundant and super tasty; the grounds are beautiful, and there is a gorgeous dog (Carter) and three sweet cats that are always eager for a cuddle :)
Loved the place.

This is a little haven of quiet and tranquility. Lovely gardens and pool.
Beds weren’t the most comfy and you’ll need to catch taxis to and from Agadir if you want to eat out.

Incredible! Stylish contemporary accommodation situated amidst vedant tropical gardens. What's not to like?! Oh yes, and a pristine swimming pool, with pool side bar (ice cold belgian beer in fridge..) and a boule court to bring out one's competative nature. Great birding in and around the accommodation, being close to Oued Massa and Souss Massa National Park. They can arrange transfers plus safaris into the park. We had the services of Mohssin who provided us with a wonderful tour.
Our room was wonderful with a gigantic double bed and an extremely good en suite shower.
All meals were splendid with a wide selection for breakfast and dinner. Do book ahead for dining to ensure that what you want is available.
And the staff, all extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rachida, Manu, Larby and everyone else, huge thanks!!

Great, large swimming pool in beautiful grounds. Amazing staff who provided great service, including the very talented chef who consistently produced great food. An oasis of calm on the outskirts of Agadir.
We had a standard room which was fairly small but perfectly adequate. Occasionally we could smell a nearby water-treatment works if the wind was blowing in the wrong direction.

We absolutely loved our stay there. The room felt very Moroccan, sparsely decorated but truly authentic with some woolen rugs on the floor, heavy wooden furniture, and an old little stove that was left just to add character to the room. The bed was super comfortable, it was the best sleep ever for us on a vacation. The place is quiet, surrounded by a beautiful garden, there is a swimming pool with sun lounges and a terrace outside the restaurant that serves amazing meals. Hospitality was exceptional from all the staff, a special thanks to Manu, she was very welcoming and helpful.
There is a dog and a cat there. The dog thinks he owns the place, but it's really the cat who does

Beautiful garden. Staff were very hospitable. They also have a dog!
My room has a slight drainage odor. Would have been nice to have some essential oil and bath robe

We had a lovely time at Dar Maktoub. The grounds of the hotel were lovely, our room was impossible to fault, spotlessly clean and relaxing. The bed was really comfortable. Really nice breakfast every day with fresh orange juice and mint tea . All the staff were very friendly and attentive and the added bonus of the lovely Carter the dog who came to say hello every day.

Staff was nice when present. Food was alright (international) but a bit overpriced.
Very old interior design, old furniture and etablissement. Very loud road next to the room. Sleeping without ear plugs impossible. Not a calm environment due to the busy road next to rooms and pool as indicated in Booking reviews.

This place should be renamed "Carter's Place"! We loved everything about our stay, the warm staff, Hussein, Rashid, Fatia, all the animal greeters. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options and they accommodate gluten free also. It is literally an oasis in the desert kind of feel and you can spend hours birdwatching, and just relaxing by the pool. Also recommend you offer your baskets for sale, or even have some available to buy with the pom poms!
I'd say the coffee is really the only thing I think that could be improved. That's it!

Everything. Dar Maktoub is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The rooms are both stylish, comfortable and clean with a traditional Moroccan feel. The dining area clean and spacious and there are various lounges which are very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The pool area was so relaxing and the gardens beautiful and very colourful. The most amazing thing about Dar Maktoub is all of the staff who were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and in particular Larbi and Rashid went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. Manu was so helpful and friendly and the food from Lahcen, the chef was amazing, particularly the cake that he made for my birthday whilst we were there. Carter the gorgeous resident dog walked us to our room every night and there were 2 lovely cats and some tortoises. We really cannot recommend Dar Maktoub enough and thank them so much for such a fabulous holiday, we will definitely be going back there.
Nothing.

Superb accommodation in Agadir to relax and enjoy the beautiful site with its garden. The staff is very welcoming.
We especially liked the accommodations dog carter, who is super cozy and likes to hang out with the visitors.
The tagine was actually one of the worst I had in Morocco at the same time being the most expensive one.
