Wonderful hospitality from our hosts, Incredibly delicious traditional Japanese evening meal and breakfast, All courses explained by Chief and Host to our family with teenagers. Comfortable futons on tatami floor with separate sitting areas was appreciated. Handy to both ferry terminals and short walk to sights.

Gracias.
Todo perfecto.

1. The location is right across from the ferry station, so it couldn’t be more convenient. 2. The kaiseki dinners are exceptional. We had dinner at the hotel both nights, and the food was fresh, locally sourced, and expertly prepared. The waiter was friendly and spoke enough English to help us understand the menu. 3. The proprietor, Shinko-San, is very sweet and friendly and will do anything to improve your stay.
Our room was tiny. If you’re there for only a night or two, it’s manageable, but it was not very comfortable. Possibly other rooms in the hotel are larger and better.

Exceptional, very special place.
The dinner and breakfast was superb.
Nothing, we loved it.

Accueil chaleureux, belle chambre.

This beautiful traditional family-run Japanese Ryokan is a true gem. The family who own this place are absolutely lovely and take so much joy from their guests being happy. The food is AMAZING - both breakfast and dinner have several courses and are different each day, some of the best homemade Japanese food you will ever eat. Location is perfect too, very close to the ferry port and the Miyajima tourist sights. Could not recommend this place more if you are looking for a traditional Japanese stay with the most kind-hearted hosts around. Thank you so much for having us!

The owner learned our names and food preferences and tailored the meals to our needs. Everyone was helpful and caring. The location was great - just across from the ferry terminal.

Our host, and her son, were warm, generous and kind. And funny! The food was fabulous, and the island was magical. The best 2 nights of our time in Japan.

The food was excellent and only beaten by the hospitality of the hosts.
We were lucky and had a huge room for the two of us.
The location is ideal.
The building is indeed a bit old. But in no way that was an issue.

Best stay of our journey. Family operated accomodation. Great hosts, welcoming us warmly and introducing us to Japanese cuisine and culture. Traditional rooms and delicious food. Located close to the ferry terminal and short walk away from Itsukushima shrine with its red torii in the water and the cable car station to Mount Misen. If you're lucky, you will see some deer close to the accomodation.

The people managing the place were really sweet. The young man Tepei knew quite some English and gave us a lot of information on the food and how to eat it, which was really cool. The staff also spoke some words of French to us, which was sweet. The food was really tasty.
Unfortunately when we booked there was no Japanese style room left so we had to book the twin room. The room is ok, but nothing special.
When we stayed, there were some road works which made quite some noise and light, but it was most probably just a one-off.

We had a wonderful stay. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We opted for the Japanese meals and cannot recommend it enough, the food was fabulous, we really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. The Guest House is located close to the ferry terminal which made coming and going easy. Our host was absolutely wonderful.

Shinko, our host, was delightful!
We were overwhelmed with the wonderful service and the amazing quality and quantity of food!
The 7 course dinner was exceptional, so beautifully presented and by such a genuinely lovely lady.
Breakfast was so plentiful, we had to hike up Mt Missen to work it off.
The location is directly opposite the ferry terminal, so it is ideally placed.
The rooms were no-frills but adequate for our purpsoe

The family running this Ryokan were wonderful. The paid lots of attention to us and gave us an extraordinary dinner including traditional robes to wear and course after course of really special food.
Lobby / common dining area could use a bit of refurbishing.
