The economy room is right over the office by the road and not connected to the rest of the motel. It was very comfortable and affordable, though not the most picturesque location. The hot tub was wonderful in the winter. Access to the beach was very easy.

The fact that this place was rated 8.2 on hotels.com greatly erodes any trust I might have had in their ratings. It is not a hotel. It is a run down motel, decades old, in shabby condition. The first problem was the room number began with “1” but was finally located on the third floor. There is no elevator. The steps are steep, have no real hand railings, and are slippery when wet. The room is shabby by my standards. I have traveled internationally and stayed in low and high graded hotels. The floor had a definite slope. The balcony doors were rusted and difficult to open. The furniture is shabby, inappropriate and generally unpleasant. The phone is not functional. The towels were inadequate and seemed worn or poorly laundered. The kitchen had a tiny microwave, two dish towels, no dish cloths, no napkins, no placemats, and filthy looking scraps of silverware. The next day, I expected the room would be cleaned, trash emptied, and the towels replaced. This did not happen. I discovered the room phone was dead when I tried to call the desk. So I called the hotel number on my cell. I asked the woman who answered for more towels, and she said I should come and get them in the office. I paid a premium price for this room for the area. This is no service at all. At that point I considered the fact that the entire town closes at 8pm and by 10pm the street is vacant. I’ve had enough beach and waves, and I have work waiting for me elsewhere. I packed up and checked out early.

Location was great, right on the beach. Lots of good restaurants nearby. We were on the ground floor and wore shoes inside due to sand. Didnt bother us though. Con of being so beach side. We never saw a single employee to get new towels or anything. But we only stayed thurs to sunday. So we survived. Walls are a little thin, we could hear neighbors showering. So maybe not a good place for light sleepers. We enjoyed the quiet pool and hot tub. Overall, would recommend for a quiet weekend beach trip.

This is an older motel but very well taken care of. It’s right on the beach (get the 3rd floor for a view from the balcony due to the dunes), the grounds are very well taken care of and the staff is amazing. There is an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as 2 outdoor pools, all very clean. There is no elevator but there is a motorized cart that will take your stuff to the top floor and back. We will definitely be coming back

Blue Heron is perfect for a budget-friendly family vacation. It has the amazing beach access as well as indoor/outdoor pool. My family has stayed there several times now and its everything we need. It is not super modern and updated but very clean and convenient. We will continue staying here!

When my family and I arrived we were all greated the man at the desk came outside showed me where the room was and also said hi to the family. He was very accommodating! We have no complaints. AC was cold, bed was comfy there were planty of towels, rags, soap, shampoo/conditioner, nice size mini fridge, microwave worked great, and noone knocking to clean while your there. Also returning visitors get a 20% off coupon on their next stay. (The coupon is on the back of the tag) We were also very close to the ocean, which was nice for the price we paid. We did not expect to get oceanside.

My daughter and I (and her dog) stayed two nights at the Blue Heron Motel. If you expecting five star motel experience, this is not the place for you. But, if you are budget conscious and want to stay right on the beach, you’ll have a very nice stay here. The rooms themselves have been updated, but the bathrooms are from the 1960’s. The motel manager was very friendly and the rooms were pretty clean. We stayed in room 17 in the north building. It’s probably one of the best rooms on the property as it is on the third floor (there’s no elevator) and directly above the boardwalk to the beach. We had an unobstructed view of the ocean from our window and balcony (which had nice tall Adirondack chairs.) I was amazed by how close we were to the ocean and this section of beach was not very crowded. The motel is a short drive to some very nice restaurants and we were able to walk to do some souvenir shopping. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Blue Heron! When it says beachfront it really means beachfront. Opened the door and we were mere steps from the beach. Room was clean. Very convenient to shopping and dining. Staff super friendly. The part that impressed me most was the gentleman at the front desk for check in and check out, he was the most friendly and gracious man. So accommodating. I am planning a return trip to the Blue Heron!! I highly highly recommend a stay here. You won’t be disappointed.
