This is such a remarkable (and beautiful) chateau, steeped in history, and it is very well set up for family or friends’ groups with all the lovely bedrooms being en-suite. As keen cooks, we were very happy with the kitchen and different dining arrangements, and Arnaud could not have been more helpful in accommodating a couple of special requests. The staff were also charming and super helpful. We would love to come back some time, and have already recommended to family and friends. Thank you, Arnaud and your team.

We loved Chateau Servigny it was a magical place set in beautifully maintained grounds. The chateau was fantastic with very comfortable bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms, the living spaces were comfortable and there are multiple living rooms so our group could spread out. There are both indoor and outdoor dining options. Arnaud was a very attentive host and answered our questions quickly, and helped us find a guide for the D-Day beaches, and also a chef to cook for us. The housekeeper and groundskeeper were really friendly.
The pool and tennis court are wonderful. We also enjoyed walking through the well maintained trails through the woods.
Valonges is close by and has a good supermarket and multiple bakeries. The D-Day sites are all within easy reach.
We can't say enough good things about our experience here.

Wonderful week in the countryside of France.
The Chateau is great! So much to do for the family. The kids and adults were always in the game room , at the pool , playing tennis , riding bikes around the property, or just out for a walk.on the grounds of the property. Just a beautiful place full of history, and
the staff was very warm and welcoming.

We were a party of twelve, five of whom were children ranging in age between eight and three.
It was a special weeks holiday to celebrate a milestone birthday.
I can honestly say we couldn’t have wished for a better venue.
The chateau was amazing so much space to enjoy, the outside facilities were outstanding, a beautiful heated pool, a spectacular games room meant wet weather did not spoil our stay.
The staff were so helpful, many
thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

This is a great place to enjoy while visiting the Normandy area. The property is so inviting and everyone was very satisfied with the space and loved the indoor and the outdoor space. It is tricky to find if you arrive at night, but once you find the turn it is an easy. Super markets are close by. I would recommend to book reservations for nearby restaurants because they are small and usually booked. No negatives for the property though, just would have prepared better for dining out.

We really enjoyed our stay at the historic castle in Servigny. The house is clean and tastefully decorated and the garden spectacular, so well designed and taken care off.
We all enjoyed the swimming pool and tennis court as we did the large bbq and the seats outside.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
All in all we had one of our best holidays ever!

I’ve chosen this property for the wedding. It really exceeded my expectations and all the guests were impressed
It is really a big 500 years old chateau with fully equipped with furniture from the past times in a good shape.
Special thanks to the owner helping to organise all the event
For sure we will come back and recommend this place

Three generations met up for a weeks holiday. The children aged between 5 and 7 loved it especially the pool, and exploring the grounds on their own bikes. There are a selection of bikes for adults and teenagers provided by the owner.
House was very clean and games room has good quality equipment, much enjoyed by the adults.
We had two meals cooked for us which worked very well and all prepared on time. Kitchen is well equipped for catering for large numbers and the large table outdoors was used most evenings for dining.
An ideal place for family groups as there is so much to do on site.

Every thing more than met our expectations. The chefs were a wonderful addition. They prepared all of our evening meals

Extraordinaire, ce site
I will write in English and in French, Canadian two official languages et je suis du Québec...et nous étions chez-nous en Normandie d'où nos ancêtres sont venus.
There was even a street in Normandy, called Dumas, my husband's name.
I had 2 grand sons who wished to visit Normandy for the débarquement. All of us became insightful of that event. We have visited the 4 main beaches, Juno, Omaha, Utah, la point du Hoc, American Cemetery, and many other places including le Mont St-Michel. So many exquisite places to visit! We learnt that the Normandy liberation "agreement" was signed at the Château Servigny between General "Ligting Joe" Lawton Collins (American) and General von Schlieben (German) in July 1944. We could visit this room while at the Château.
Merci Arnaud!

Normandy Adventure
A wonderful experience for all in the family. Bikes for adults and kids. Beautiful swimming pool, and grounds for evening and early morning walks. Very comfortable rooms with nice kitchen and dining facilities.
Staff was exceptional as we hired Celine to supply our group with 2 meals. Very reasonable and nice to have a homemade meal after long days of exploring this wonderful countryside. We are already talking about our next trip to Normandy and another stay at the Château.

From the moment you drive through the gate onto this enchanted château, you are completely taken back in time; words cannot describe how beautiful and unique this property is from the inside out and how wonderful the owners and their staff are to each family that comes to visit and stay in there a Beautiful historical estate.
They went above and beyond to make my birthday an extra special event
my only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.
I would suggest at least a week to really get to enjoy all that this beautiful château has to offer, Not to mention all the excursions nearby you could enjoy while you’re staying there.
BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! We can’t wait to come back

Fantastic time in a beautiful location
Our visit could not have been more perfect! The chateau was even better than the description - very clean and with everything you could want for a very comfortable visit. We had a great time with family and friends during our visit. There is so much to do! What fun!

Fantastic! A once in a life time experience!
We had a fantastic experience at the chateau, and were in awe of being in a place with so much history! We are so very grateful for Arnaud and his family enabling us to stay at their chateau!
Our only regret is that we, having booked tours (thanks Arnaud's help for recommendation on tours and preparing for our trip) of the landing beaches etc., did not reserve more time to hang out at home at the Chateau as between the heated pool, the bikes, tennis, ping-pong, and exploring the park, there really were enough activities there to keep everyone entertained for the full week (without going anywhere else). The chateau has everything you need to feel at home.
Arnaud, the host and Francoise, the housekeeper, were also extremely responsive and really made us feel welcome! We can strongly recommend staying at this Chateau!

The lovely Chateau de Servigny suited our family in wonderful style during our visit to the Normandy WW2 landing sights. The historic property is very well cared for and very inviting. Up-to-date amenities are a wonderful addition in such an important and ancient building. The heated pool is a +++. The location is just a short ride to the highway making for easy access to distant sight-seeing locations. The local town of Valognes has every service and shop necessary. The Chateau met, and surpassed our expectations!

Amazing and perfect vacation!
Is it possible to give 10 stars? We had high expectations for this chateau, and it exceeded all of them. The property is steeped in fascinating history, our hosts were warm, inviting, and responsive, and the grounds and chateau were both sprawling and gorgeous. The pictures do not do this property justice. We particularly appreciated the bikes that were available for the kids to use and the pool (which was heated to the perfect temperature for the July weather), but all of the thoughtful touches around the property were amazing, from the fully-stocked kids' playhouse to the board games in the library to the historical information in the bedrooms. It was fantastic to have Ms. Celine available to make delicious four-course meals and babysit the kids. Ms. Francoise would tiptoe around every morning, slipping in to make beds and coffee. This is by far the best home rental experience we've ever had. The only downside (which some would say is not a downside) is that the WiFi signal was not strong (and cellular signals could not penetrate the stone castle walls), so it was difficult to stay connected for work. But every member of our group (four adults and six children, ages 6 to 13) had an unequivocally fabulous time. This chateau and all the people associated with it are simply gems. We will definitely be back.

Perfection!
I stayed at Servigny for a week with a group of 12 women. We went with high expectations. Our experiences exceeded our expectations. The Chateau is beautiful. The entire place is welcoming, elegant and comfortable. The grounds were far more expansive then we had envisioned, and we so enjoyed exploring! Servigny was a perfect base from which to take in the wonders of Normandy, but it is important to allow plenty of time to soak in all that the Chateau de Servigny offers.

A magical Normandy Chateau
I treated my extended family to a week at Ch. de Servigny to celebrate my wife's birthday. The property looked wonderful on the website and the reality exceeded our high expectations. For a start the owner and the housekeeper were very helpful and accommodating and the professional Chef recommended by the owners is superb. The Chateau is very child friendly with a good size pool kept at a minimum of 26* and child secure, hard tennis court and numerous bikes of all sizes.
There are extensive grounds to explore including cycle paths in the woods. There is even a stone built child's playhouse complete with tower.
There is plenty for the history enthusiast, the house was used as US headquarters following the Utah beach landings and was the venue for the first formal German surrender treaty.
The history of the owning family is also fascinating and well documented in the Chateau. There are links to the French royal court and also to several Grand Cru Bordeaux wines.
For those who like to explore there is more than enough with the whole of the D-day landing area and lower Normandy.
Perhaps the secret of this chateau was a clever combination of the elegance of a home steeped in history with an informality so that we weren't constantly on edge as 8 small children had the holiday of a lifetime.
Our thanks to the De Pontac family and the lovely Francoise.

Stunning. Breathtakingly beautiful
Kids wanted to snapchat it the second they saw it. A fairytale chateau but everything worked beautifully - all rooms with en suites. Hot water strong and never ran out. Classical decor. Typically French. Walking distance to two fabulous rustic restaurants. Long bike rides every day and tennis and swimming. Interesting day trips to D Day beaches and Bayeux and coastal walks. Really the perfect holiday in every way. The owner and housekeeper incredibly helpful and the in house chef service fantastic.

Awesome!
The chateau is beautiful!
We arrived on Sunday and Françoise was waiting for us with her welcoming smile and a fresh fruit basket and wine, a gift from Arnaud, the owner of the Chateau. The rooms are all beautifully decorated with updated bathrooms. The grounds are impeccable and very peaceful. The breeze blowing the leaves of the majestic trees on the grounds. Jean Jacque, the Gardner, works hard every day attending to everything green to make sure the grounds are happy. We had a pleasure of seeing the room where the Cherbourg treaty was signed and it’s hard not to be affected by the fact that this chateau played such an important role in the WW2. Unfortunately, the weather did not permit the use of the pool, but it looked very inviting, clean and had a beautiful new cover. To our surprise there was an indoor ping pong table which we used almost daily for fun matches.
There are plenty of good restaurants within a short driving distance. The plethora of information about the historical sites, memorials, close by attractions, restaurants activities and entertainment is well displayed on the welcoming tables of the Chateau.
The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms have great showers and baths. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. For couple of nights we took advantage of Gwenelle’s cooking. The dinners were delicious and it’s just so much fun to stay home in the Chateau and be taking care of in “French” style. Normandy is very relaxed and welcoming and a beautiful countryside.
We cherished the moments we spent in the Chateau and strolling the beautiful grounds. Created lots of beautiful memories and we hope to return. Thank you Arnaud for all your help and hospitality. Best wishes from USA

A perfect stay at a historic Chateau
The pictures, though beautiful, do not do this property justice. Both the house and the stay far exceeded our expectations. Though we rent vacation homes regularly, we never worked with this website. Everything worked out well. We received great communication through the website during booking, and then timely and to-the point responses from the owner of the Chateau, patiently answering my many questions. We were also grateful to receive a very detailed and well-prepared package with travel information, directions, and recommendations regarding sightseeing and good restaurants. A beautiful fruit basket was also waiting for us as a welcome gift from the owner (it didn't have a card, so there was some confusion initially, but we figured it out). The Chateau is perfectly located near picturesque town of Valognes (with a fabulous farmers' market, so close - less than a mile - that our girls rode their bikes to the market!). A lot of various sightseeing suggestions were provided at the house. The house is beautifully restored and maintained, with amazing history well documented and preserved. We were grateful to be shown the historic room where the Treaty was signed, with photos and documents. The park surrounding the Chateau is huge, very well taken care of, and a great place to ride bicycles (many were provided, in perfect working order). There is also a giant room with table tennis and a well-maintained outdoor tennis court and a beautiful heated outdoor pool. Though not included with the rental, we have asked for breakfasts and dinners, and they were provided and served (don't miss an opportunity to have a dinner or two at the Chateau), we also went to the restaurants the owners recommended, all spot-on. The closest one was our favorite (3 minute walk, very accommodating and great food!). We bought a lot of fresh food at the market, so we also cooked at home some nights. The kitchen is well equipped, there is everything one might need. We also used the washer and drier, all working perfectly. More on housekeeping: the house provides the biggest, plushest and highest quality towels I have seen in a while. Keys, maps, all necessities were provided. We enjoyed the library, the music room, and the fact that one of our guests, an art history professor, discovered that the Chateau was used as an inspiration for a much-discussed XIX century romantic novel. Highly recommend this property.

A truly unforgettable stay at a beautiful castle!
We had the castle to ourselves which allowed us to invite friends and families for a shared experience. The castle itself is beautifully well maintained and comfortable. We were all in awe. We loved exploring the grounds and using the provided bicycles and playing tennis. Gwenaelle, the housekeeper, took great care with us and made us two amazing dinners. Well situated, we were able to easily visit the D-Day landing beaches, the American cemetery, Honfleur and tapestry of Bayeux. And of course the castle's treaty room tied the whole WWII experience together. We wished we had more time! Hope to return one day to explore the region more!

Organised a surprise trip for some friends. When we arrived at Servigny they were speechless. This is not the usual accomodation, it's exceptional! We had a wonderful time in Normandy, made a lot of excurisons. The only thing we regret was that we could not spend more time in and at our castle. This property is highly recommended if You want to spoil Your family or friends with an extraordinary vacation.
A big thanks to Mr. Pontac, his family and all the staff who took care of us during our stay.

We LOVED our week at Chateau de Servigny. We were 16 persons ranging in age from 7 -70. Everyone had an awesome time. The property is absolutely magical with the English park, stone play house, chapel, tennis courts, and swimming pool. The children loved the majestic bronze stag that stood guard over the spacious side lawn. Our teenaged boys loved learning about the history of the house and the role it played in the signing of a treaty at the end of WW II. Visiting the actual room of the signing and seeing the exact desk where it was signed were highlights. The chateau is very comfortable and well appointed. We loved sitting outside for an aperitif before dinner and often times remaining outside for our dinner shared on the spacious stone garden dining table. We played charades in the main salon and enjoyed a dance party in the upstairs salon. We can't imagine a better place to have celebrated the 70th birthdays of Peter and Grace Gorman with the entire family gathered together.

The chateau is a great place to gather family or friends for holidays or events.
Our Norwegian-French family of three generations, stayed for 7 nights in Chateau de Servigny, during Christmas, from 21. – 28. dec. 2014.
Fifteen persons, eight adults and seven children (from 3-17), had a «once-of-a-life-time»-experience here, and we will remember this forever.
The 8 bedrooms - each different from the other – all included toilet and bath, and apart from some of the beds being a bit too short for long Norwegians, they were all very nicely furnished and convenient.
The castle offered multiple opportunities for all ages; piano, chess, TV, DVD’s, ping-pong, baby-foot, biking (for both children and adults) and tennis - or just a run or walk in the surrounding park. The small castle/play house in the park amazed the smaller kids. We would love to come back during summer time to try the swimming pool too!
The family de Pontac has created a fantastic place to gather people for the extraordinary happenings, and with good taste in all details (colors, tapestry, furniture, curtains) and knowledge they have managed to create an authentic and yet practical place to stay. The kitchen was quite well equipped, but as we wanted to prepare all the meal ourselves (having a Chef in the family), extra casseroles etc. were needed. In the fantastic dining room beside the kitchen, we enjoyed our meals all gathered around the table.
On Christmas Eve, we even used the small chapel in the park behind the chateau. This was a magical moment with candles, singing and some of the children playing the flute.
The only thing we really missed, especially during this cold season, was the ability to use the fireplaces around in the house. We believe it would be a good idea to make this possible, especially in the dining room.
Thank you for a memorable and magic Christmas holiday for our family!

Fifteen friends shared this magnificent home while attending the World Equestrian Games in Caen. My commitment is to return to fully enjoy this Chateau without the distraction of dressage.
The photos and information provided are all very accurate. Arnaud the owner was very available and helpful to deal with during the booking and provided excellent information regarding the locale and guides (for a DDay tour).
The residence itself is jaw-dropping. Once the front gates open you immediately realise that you've made an excellent choice. The housekeeper Francoise was a smiling face there to welcome you.
There are ample areas for entertaining, both inside and out and a spectacular dining room. All the bedrooms are ensuited and very comfortable. Several are imposing to say the least. A couple of the bedrooms are relatively small (relative to the size of the chateau rather than the size of a typical European hotel room), but the communal areas are so numerous that it was very easy to find a quiet place to relax. The pool was well heated and the bikes were well used for morning rides to the local village. The grounds were exceptional - a twilight wander over the grass or through the trees with a glass in hand was a fantastic way to end the day.
The kitchen was well equipped; however thankfully we didn't really need to avail ourselves of this because of the wonderful Gwenaelle, the cook. After the week we were working on ways of taking Gwenaelle with us! After a day touring or at the dressage, to arrive 'home' at 7pm and have Gwenaelle preparing a wonderful repast in the kitchen was for many of us a highlight. Excellent food that we were more than happy to consume every night.
I will certainly be returning to Servigny, probably next time with my extended family. Whilst this fabulous chateau is full of history and antiques, it is so very livable and felt very much like a home for all of us.
For someone who travels frequently and widely, this was on of the best week's holiday I've had. And largely made that way because of the Chateau and it's staff.
