This 1800s era building was beautifully renovated by its new owner while maintaining its antique charm. The inn-keeper was lovely. The food was phenomenal and the hearty breakfast kept me fueled for a full day of snowboarding at Okemo. I hope I get to go back again soon. It was a very nice experience.

The quad room was a great solution for a family - everyone had their own bed! And we really appreciated that dinner was available at the Eatery. It was delicious and there weren't many other dining options in the area.
We were skiing at Okemo and this was a little far for us, about 20 minutes.

The owners of both the inn and the eatery were really approachable. The breakfast is unmatched at any location I have ever stayed. The eatery's location is perfect; go downstairs, order food, and eat in the beautiful backyard.
Check in was a little confusing (I didn't know which entrance to use. A sign inside instructed us to ring the bell - the Ring Door Bell). This is understood considering it is a small inn, where the owners are active in the cooking and cleaning.

Breakfast was delicious! I would have liked to have had some fresh fruit available, but overall it was hot and good! Thank you. The location was great for us. Easy to find.
I have been to other B and Bs that provided complimentary snacks (individually wrapped baked good of the day, small bags of popcorn or chips), and a small "community" refrigerator stocked with soft drinks and ice, and some room for personal things if we chose to use it. That is really nice after coming in from a long day of travel.

Did not have breakfast.
Very creaky bed with every movement, it was squeaky. Mattress felt as if was sloped toward our heads.
Also, bathroom was so small we could barely fit inside...we are both tall people.

That I couldn’t stay longer.

Everything was absolutely perfect! Vicky, the Innkeeper, was super accommodating, friendly and just delightful! The bedding was the softest I've ever felt! Every detail was carefully thought out and you can tell the owners put their heart and soul into it. The design is a beautiful mix of modern and original.
Nothing! Everything was perfect!

Great countryside location.

Wanted to give my 3 teenage girls the Vermont Country Inn experience on our family snowboarding trip. We stayed in the bunk room and my girls delighted in all the little details like cookies when we came in and how beautiful the historic 1810 house and grounds were. The breakfast was amazing. Chef made each breakfast to order and were sensitive to my allergies as well as spoiling all the girls with delicious local sausages & crafted chocolate chip pancakes. Great location - Magic, Bromley, and Okemo so close. We watched the local Chester Snowmobile Groomer come through the back woods while eating breakfast in a gorgeous sunroom. Room was cozy and quiet - came in on a Sunday night. Will come back with more family!

My family and I loved the location of this beautiful family owned inn and everything it had to offer for its tenants. We were able to speak with the Inn staff whenever we needed to who are usually located in the front office. When we arrived, we were greeted by a friendly young women named Georgia who had just cooked fresh cookies which were amazing. We were able to stay for the night and
The room was a little warm over night but leveled out by morning! Otherwise our stay was amazing.

The building is charming with lots of character. I enjoyed the location, especially it being close to the Pizza Stone and Okemo.
The heat did not work well at all. My room was freezing when I arrived, the staff adjusted the thermostat and showed me how to work the heater, and then it was much better. But then the heat turned off during the night, and I woke up freezing. The heater only works if you have the room lights on, so I had to sleep with the lights on. The staff just kept staring it’s due to the house being old, but I should not be paying $262 a night to have no heat. The staff offered no refund or sympathy. I will not stay here again.

Breakfast was great
The house was very creaky and the people walking around upstairs kept us awake.

The inn was very clean and quaint. There was hot chocolate and cookies upon our arrival and a delicious hot breakfast made to order each morning. We stayed on the top floor, which had 4 twin beds- all with comfortable linens and comforters. There was also plenty of room to move around and a spacious closet for our suitcases.
The top floor was a bit warm.

Wonderful, welcoming hosts, cozy and clean room, great breakfast.
This is a very small nitpick, but cold-tone fluorescent bulbs made the space feel a lot less cozy.

Cute little Inn, perfect for a weekend getaway. My husband and I stayed here during a ski weekend. Convenient location to major mountains, would definitely recommend

It was nice that breakfast was included
The room was very hot & dry. It would be nice if the staff could provide a humidifier and other blanket options than a heavy comforter and small throw. The room was also smaller than pictured.

This property has a very nice B&B feel to it, the staff were very friendly. We met Vicky, Georgia and Conner. All were more than accommodating and we felt we could hang out with them all day if we wanted. We stayed in the four twin bed room as it was a group of four guys and the room was super clean. It had a small smart Fire TV, a small but adequate bathroom and a decent sized closet to hang things. We were about 20 minutes from Ludlow, making this a great value spot for a trip to Okemo. Breakfast is included and was very good. I will definitely stay here again when we come back. Cool history with the house too, built in 1810!
Tough to say, but having the ability to adjust the heat in the room would be nice, it was a little warm trying to sleep but no big deal.

This is our new favorite spot in VT! We chose the Stone Hearth on a whim for a last minute trip and couldn’t be happier. The lovely family who owns and operates this property made us feel incredibly welcome. It was clear to us that they have great passion for this business, and take a lot of care in the details, making sure things feel homey and comfortable. The food was all made from scratch and was SO yummy (freshly made lemon pound cake was one of the breakfast items). I cannot say enough good things about this family. For the short time we were there it really felt like we had been there many times. There is something to be said about people and places that make such a lasting impression. I can’t wait to go back!

Liked the historic aspect of the property. The owners were very positive and welcoming.

The location was stunning and the building itself was historic and quaint. The sheets and bed were very soft.
The room could have been cleaner. There was dust and lots of bugs in the room. We were expecting a bed and breakfast but there was only burnt muffins and cereal.
Although the sheets were soft, the pillows were extremely worn out and flat and need to be replaced
The TV was extremely small considering how far away the bed was.

Very nice and friendly owner, old historic house. We had a large room. Breakfast was ok, they will make hot items to order, if you ask. No one to greet or assist you in the breakfast room.
Just because the house is old and historic doesn't mean the beds need to be, it was extremely uncomfortable. I'm sure the owner wouldn't sleep on the bed that we had. I don't want to create problems for the wonderful owner, she is getting the market price for a room, but it is highly overpriced in my opinion for what you are getting. I expected a lot more as to the quality of the room for the $261 we paid for one night. The bathroom was extremely small, I couldn't even sit on the toilet because the vanity was in the way. Chester is not the great location I expected, there are no shops or restaurants worth stopping for. If she opens a high quality restaurant in the Inn, it may improve the quality of the stay.

Staff was great room was very clean
Bed was terrible. The mattress needs to be replaced. The mattress caves in in the middle making it very uncomfortable. Did not sleep well at all.

We spent only one night at Stone Hearth Inn. This location was very convenient to the venue we had to be at the next morning, room was very clean and beds comfortable. The staff was extra accommodating in regard to starting breakfast early as we had to leave prior to their scheduled breakfast hours.
