The people who live there leave their stuff so there’s no available closet and the fridge and freezer are full.
The bed is comfortable and they advertise a clothes washer- which you can use if you’re there on a Monday!
Jeff generously came to pick us up but his English is very limited. I understood that his daughter was going to take us to the train station when we depart but no, she came to the apartment, took the key and left us standing on the sidewalk confused.
We scrambled in the 90 degree heat and barely made the train that we could easily of arranged for if we had not had this miscommunication.
No air conditioning. No clothes washer (except on Monday).
Great access to the tram and old town and wonderful restaurants.

The property is near the university. It is quiet and safe. Very close to the 30 bus and the 3 tram that will get you most places. Nearby is a grocery, a pastry shop and the university hospital.
At the property entrance there are 5 easy steps and then a small elevator to get to apt. There is a clean laundry room in the basement.
When coming home after dark there is no outside light so have your phone handy.
Kitchen has everything you would need. I could only find one outlet so it took some juggling with the toaster, microwave and kettle. Be sure to ask how to use the appliances and the washer and dryer.
Bath is nice with great hot water and water pressure.
I only speak English and there are no English channels on the tv. There is a balcony and it looks out to an ambulance garage. You never hear sirens and it’s kind of fun watching them conduct training and cleaning the ambulances. It’s all very quiet. Good windows! There is a small dining table in the kitchen and a bigger table in the living/dining room.
I would recommend this place to stay. I stayed one month. The host asked every week if I needed anything. He was always available. He even drove me to my niece’s house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property in Basel. The apartment was very comfortable and extremely well stocked with everything we needed when we decided to cook there. The owner had even left us a variety of snacks and breakfast foods! In addition, the location was perfect - within walking distance to the Old Town and very close to a tram stop. We will definitely stay there again if we return to Basel!

This was a comfortable, clean, well-equipped one-bedroom apartment, with sleeper sofa in the living room, a nice bathroom and kitchen and even a small balcony. It's located in a very quiet, clean and neat elevator apartment building, a short walk from Basel's "old town" and the Rhine River. As friends visiting Switzerland for 4 days to attend the huge Art Basel fair we were happy to find our location was a pleasant walk (20 min) to the MezzeBasel exhibition halls. Jeff was extremely kind and took us to and from the Basel/Mulhouse airport -- a truly lovely service which we very much appreciated! We found coffee, milk, juice and breakfast items left for us in the kitchen, which was another nice touch. The only caveat we would mention is that this is obviously someone's personal apartment -- not a traditional (almost empty) vacation-rental place. So the resident's personal items (clothing, bath-products, etc) are in the apartment. This was not a big issue, but something to keep in mind depending on what you're looking for. Also, Jeff and his people were all kind and helpful with information. Overall, this place was certainly a fantastic value for the money -- especially in the very expensive city of Basel.

We were in Basel for 5 days for the Basel world show. The rental was perfect for our trip. a 25 minute walk or 8 minute ride to the show. Jeff was very good at communicating and he even picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. The unit was very well kept, spacious and clean. I would highly recommend to anyone travelling for either business or pleasure. This was my favorite rental in Basel out of the past 7 years.
