We had an amazing time. It was our honeymoon.
When we got there we saw a sign that said congratulations Michael and Julianne. The cabin was incredible. Marty the host was fantastic. Highly recommend!

We were in Vermont for my daughter's graduation and loved staying at the cabin. It is beautiful, and Carol and Marty are wonderful hosts: responsive and welcoming. A special treat: homemade cinnamon twists delivered to your door.

Beautiful spot on earth. So grateful for Carol and Marty to share this piece of solitude in nature. Perfectly maintained, met with a welcome sign and all accommodations needed. We will definitely go back!

It is impossible to say how amazingly wonderful the cabins that Marty and Carol constructed in Ripton, VT. Each cabin is nicely separated from the others. And each cabin has all the conveniences of home with TOP QUALITY appliances/AC/ etc. The rooms are fantastic, the woods used inside are all stained or natural and blend perfectly together. The quality is tops..you can feel it. The doors are solid, the table and chairs are stable, the WiFi is perfect, the bathrooms are perfect and of a great size. the shower is huge and a walk-in !!! The mattresses are top quality, the terrace with table and chairs and floor to ceiling windows are marvelous !! What a place...just the best cabins we have ever seen!! These people are bright, hard working, of good humor, down to earth and just totally devoted to your comfort and satisfaction. Can't recommend this wonderful hideaway enough! And they are wonderfully PET FRIENDLY....just totally amazing.

I was very excited to come to Vermont to ski with my family for the first time and celebrate my daughters 4th birthday. Marty greeted my boyfriend and I while my parents were out food shopping. He was nice but we were a little unsettled when he told my daughter “happy birthday little girl” instead of asking for her name.
Marty did explain his policy for not having young children in the hot tub because there is a risk of them using the bathroom. Unbeknownst to my boyfriend and I, my parents took my daughter to the hot tub late at night after enjoying her birthday cake. When my boyfriend and I went to use the hot tub early in the morning Carol was standing in the empty hot tub cleaning it out. I greeted her “good morning” and instantly knew there was a problem by her cold reaction. She told me my daughter had been in the hot tub and she now had to come out in below freezing temperatures to hand clean it. My boyfriend and I were so stunned at her tone and mannerisms that we literally could not respond. She then began tapping on the window to the laundry room to alert her husband Marty to join in on the tongue lashing. We apologized and said we forgot to inform our elderly parents about the child rule (not to mention my daughter did not and would not relieve herself, she is trained in swimming school).
We quickly packed our belongings and left. We knew there’d be a possibility of feeling out of place because let’s face it, a black family in Vermont isn’t the norm. But all in all, we made the best out of our stay.

I can't say enough about our stay at Marty and Carol's beautiful place. They were so accommodating, and there are so many thoughtful touches - not only in the cabin, but across the property. They even made temporary dog tags in case a visiting dog wanders away! We look forward to being able to come back some day!

We loved staying at Marty & Carol's special place in Vermont. We could tell as soon as we arrived how much care & attention to detail went into making the property.
A few tips:
-Save the google map journey & details about the reservation (your cabin number) before you depart. We lost signal right after entering Ripton.
-The hot tub is shared between all 7 cabins. We got lucky and were able to use it a couple times, but others were waiting on us to leave.
-If you love movies, the loft has an extensive selection of DVDs! We brought a chromecast and were able to stream our favorite movies that way.
-There is a sledding hill & sleds! We had so much fun sledding together-- we felt like kids again!
Thank you Carol & Marty for hosting us, we had such a great time and will definitely be coming back!

It was my boyfriends 24th birthday so i surprised him with a weekend get away in the woods! Marty and Carol made him a customized Happy Birthday sign that sat at the end of the driveway so that was a nice surprise. This place really is WAY in the woods which was perfect. Our first night in the cabin was amazing everything was really clean and cozy. The town to get food isn't too far maybe about 15 mins. The next morning of your stay Carol makes homemade cinnatwists that are delivered to your door, they are to die for. The cabin offers a lot of things to do on the property such as snowshoeing and the hot tub and a loft area with games and such. My only complaint is when booking i thought that each cabin had their own hot tub which is not the case. There is a shared hot tub with all the cabins that are renting. (6) total i think. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind while booking, Overall it was a really good stay and would still recommend!
