The Neighborhood:
The Plateau Mont-Royal, this popular area that became yuppie-bohemian is by far the most hip in Montreal. Small intimate theaters, thrift stores, used bikes, exclusive boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delis add to the cultural ferment and bohemian atmosphere that characterize the Plateau, where all lifestyles converge.
This is the best place to really get a feel of what Montreal is all about. It’s community is predominantly francophone and highly eclectic. Artists, students, young professionals and new families mingle with each other, creating an extraordinarily vibrant and colorful human mosaic. Those who do not live there come as often as possible to play and go out, and for good reasons...
Four major arteries are heart the neighborhood: The Saint-Laurent Boulevard - "The Main" - where many cultural communities have established their shops, the Rue Saint-Denis and its multitude of shops, cafes and terraces, Prince Arthur Street and its restaurants "Bring your own wine" and the Mount Royal Avenue with bars both connected and relaxed. A constant hum contrasts with the tranquility of the side streets, the lined up stairs of twisted wrought iron, as well as the lush greenery of Parc La Fontaine.
At night, the Plateau is known to be especially entertaining and warm. From chic lounge to corner microbreweries, from a wide variety of restaurants and taverns to high caffeine content and lively discussions of all it’s coffee shops, the choice is rich. Musicians - Quebec art scene is extremely innovative and prolific - occur every night and all summer, the sidewalks are full of life. A night out, it's here.
Getting Around:
From the Airport, you can take bus 747 all the way to metro station Berri-Uqam. From there use the metro up to station Mont-Royal (only 2 stations). You are at the apartment within a 5 minute of walk.

This was a great place for our base to see Montreal. After a trying travel experience due to the IT outage and we all finally arrived, we were so happy to relax in this comfortable and conveniently located apartment. There was a bit of noise the first morning due to people moving around above us but other than that we were quite comfortable and found everything we needed. The check in /out procedures were super convenient and found the host to be extremely responsive. Highly recommend!

We very much enjoyed our stay in Montreal. Beautiful city and great location to be able to take it all in with the easy access to metro. Taking my daughter to school in Montreal in August and am appreciative to you, as now I have some familiarity to the wonderful city and where she will be.

The apartment was great for our group of 4. Each of us had our own bedroom and shared the two bathrooms. The common areas were spacious, and the outdoor patio was a treat. We only used the kitchen for breakfasts, but it was nice and well supplied, so I could easily see cooking a larger meal there. Last, the neighborhood was vibrant, and full of restaurants and convenient to the subway station. Thumbs up!

Our Holliday gift was a trip to Montreal. This rental was close to a number of fun restaurants and the Metro. Great place with plenty of room for our group.

We spent 4 days at this location during our visit to Montreal. We also rented the sister location for the other half of our group. This apartment is walking distance to many restaurants and bakeries which was great for early morning coffee. The metro was also easy walking distance. Although parking was tricky, there was a lot around the corner that was very convenient. The area overall seemed safe. The owners were responsive and answered all questions promptly. The front bedroom is on the street side and tended to be noisy. We put our teens that sleep through anything in that room and it wasn't an issue for us. Our first morning, the neighbors upstairs were quite loud, I think they had children and they were running around. T

My son who recently graduated from Montreal said that we must stay in the Plateau because it is the "soul" of Montreal and he was right. The apartment is in a wonderful location-close to everything, very clean and well appointed. I do recommend that the building staircase be painted/new rug because it's a little ragged in comparison to the units. Rent with confidence-the management team was very responsive and nice to let us into the unit early.

FabFour #3 is an attractive apartment in a fabulous location. It is nicely decorated, with excellent bedding and is spotlessly clean. It is surrounded by dozens of restaurants, bars, shops and pedestrian-only streets (summer only). It is also just a few minutes’ walk from the Mont Royal Metro station. You’d be hard-pressed to find better walkability from a rental in Montreal. Regrettably, all of this comes with some notable shortcomings.
FabFour #3 lacks what I refer to as “quiet enjoyment”: the peace and tranquility one would expect from a modern property. And this is where FabFour #3 misses big. Some examples:
• You will hear EVERY (and I mean EVERY) noise from the apartment above. It’s as if you are all sharing the same apartment. Every footstep (think thud, thud, thud), chairs rolling, peoples voices, toilets flushing (mildly disturbing), etc. Everything. It is extremely difficult to sleep while the people upstairs are moving about, and you will be forced to wake up when they do. And it’s not that the people above were being disrespectful. They weren’t. It is just that there is ZERO sound attenuation between the units. The quietest bedroom is the one in the rear. Unfortunately, it’s the one with the bunk beds…
• The front bedroom is right on Saint Denis Street - one of the busiest in Montreal. While trying to sleep (or just rekax) in this room you will hear EVERY car, motorcycle, truck and loud reveler that passes by. The same goes with the living room.
• It is difficult to enjoy the lovely outdoor porch because of the six (yes, six) air conditioner compressors stacked one upon a mere ten feet (three meters) from the table. When it’s hot outside (it was 90 F [32 C]), and EVERY compressor is running full speed, non-stop, the noise makes the porch the last place you want to be.
None of this will ruin your stay. But these issues detract significantly from the ‘luxury’ promised. Add in the fact that there are no en suite bathrooms, and you’ll quickly realize you overpaid for the property.
Were FabFour #3 priced at a couple of hundred dollars a night, you could understand the lack of tranquility and other issues. But the expensive asking price is simply not commensurate with the experience. There are just better much better values in Montreal.

This location was ideal for our group of 12 ladies who met up, from far and wide, for a weekend reunion. Great space and easy check-in. Parking was a bit of a challenge but we managed it.
Particularly enjoyed the location for access to shops, depanneurs, SAQ and many choices of restaurants.

The apartment was ideally located for walking to downtown Montreal, and the port areas and very close to a metro station. Additionally, the the neighborhood itself had small shops, bookstores, cafes and bakeries for days of staying close to the apartment which was spacious enough for our family of 3 children and 7 adults. We had a wonderful week in Montreal with the apartment serving as our home base.

We couldn't have been more pleased with this property! Spacious, clean, bright, great location. Very well furnished and maintained. We called 45 minutes before we arrived and were met by our very gracious and hospitable host.
