THE SONGWRITERS SANCTUARY was formerly owned by Michael Masser, a famous American songwriter, composer and producer who created popular music for artists such as Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack and Natalie Cole. This luxurious and private estate is the ULTIMATE property in the heart of the Movie Colony Neighborhood – just a quick and easy walk to downtown Palm Springs, Ruth Hardy Park, five star restaurants, cafes, the famous Aqua Caliente Spa Resort Casino and the historic O'Donnell Country Club and golf course.
Meticulously remodeled and maintained, this 6 Bedroom, 5 Bath private home features a large living room with cozy fireplace, hardwood floors and an inviting environment. The Family Room has an enclosed fireplace with queen sleeper sofa and overlooks the extensive resort-like pool and outdoor entertaining area.
The master en-suite extends into a step-down, large, private and comfortable sitting area with a cozy fireplace and private entrance to the pool deck. In addition, there are another 3 en-suite bedrooms, and two additional bedrooms with a full bath and tub between them. All bedrooms have their own 42” Smart TVs .
The modern and large gourmet "kosher" kitchen features (2) Dishwashers, (2) Ovens, (2) Sinks, and a Wine Cooler. The island bar invites guests to gather for a meal or conversation while the formal dining room has a large table that comfortably seats 8 formal chairs and is open to the kitchen for ease of entertaining.
This private estate is walled and gated for your privacy and has plenty of parking for multiple vehicles.
Our Starter Kit to you is designed to get you through your first day only, it may very well get you through 2 or 3 days as many of our guests will attest to, but our design is to get you through your first day before you may need to go to a grocery store.

Your kitchen is fully equipped with pots & pans etc., nearly every utensil you need to use to cook with and cleaning products to clean with.
However, there is only a starter kit in each respective bathroom & kitchen of the following supplies:

o Toilet paper
o Liquid Hand soap
o Vanity travel pack soap, shampoo & lotion
o Paper towels
o Dishwashing liquid
o Dishwasher tablets
o Trash bags
o Laundry soap
o Dryer sheets
Parking: All cars must be parked upon the interior circular driveway and within the garage of the property. Street parking is prohibited.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
60 days prior to scheduled arrival date, you will receive a refund of any advance payments minus a $300 cancellation fee and any processing fees ModMansions incurs.
Between 0 and 59 days prior to scheduled arrival, no refunds will be granted.
No refund will be given for early departures.
However and provided the guest cancels reservation on the original booking platform and ModMansions is able to re-rent this property for the same rate and same dates, then ModMansions has the option and MAY refund the same amount.

Age Requirement:

Rates:
Published rates are based on standard occupancy, do not include a combined 12.5% percent which includes a City of Palm Springs room tax and a TBID Tax Assessment.
Payment Schedule:
An Advance Deposit is due at the time of signing the contract with ModMansions. The balance is due 90 days prior to your arrival at the property. In complex long-term reservation, payment arrangements may be made by contacting us directly.
Utilities - (stays of 28+ days)
If staying in a home, with its own private pool, for 28 nights or more, the guest will be required to pay a utility deposit of $1,000.00 to $2,500.00 depending on the property. This deposit will be used to pay the actual monthly gas and electric bills and copies of the actual bills will be provided to the guest. Should the stay exceed 28 nights and utilities used exceed the utility deposit, the guest agrees to pay an additional deposit to cover the remaining stay. There is no markup by ModMansions on any utilities.

What a great house! 6 full bedrooms with their own bathrooms (one joining), plenty of room for multiple couples! We appreciated the 2 dishwashers too! 15-minute walk from shuttles to/from Stagecoach and walking distance to main strip. There are a lot of rules but in the end if you take care of the property and be respectful it’s not hard to comply. Backyard had a lagoon feel with full privacy. Well stocked kitchen!

Our stay had something for everyone. Walking distance to a park with playground, tennis courts and basketball courts; walking distance to downtown Palm Springs; very close to the airport; no need to rent a car; pool for the kids; walking distance to hiking trails. The house was super comfortable. Couldn't have asked for a better time.

We had such a fun 29th college reunion long weekend! House is very spacious and well appointed. Very Clean and our host was great. Easy, responsive and very nice. Location is awesome- we walked to restaurants & shops & rooftop yoga. Hiked in Joshua tree one day which was stunning. Only drawback was no music allowed outside ever, which is a palm springs thing (not just this house I think) but all of the stern warnings just made us feel a little nervous- but we’re a tame old group so it wasn’t an issue. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We have rented a house in Palm Springs for about 12 years. Our family comes together for a few days every year for games, swimming, shopping and lots of eating. This is the first year we stayed in this house and it was wonderful. It is definitely one of the best. Our property ambassador was outstanding and worked so hard to make sure everything in the house was perfect. Having all different ages coming together and everyone was so happy. My 15 year old grandson said this stay was the best part of his summer! I guess that says it all. Thank You

Super cozy while still having plenty of space for 12 adults. We loved cooking together every night and all the different areas around the property to hang out as a group. We happened to be in Palm Springs when it was over 110 degrees every day, but the house stayed cool and there was plenty of shade/umbrellas outdside for us to still enjoy the pool area. Communication with the owner was easy and very accommodating. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a lovely stay at the Songwriter's Sanctuary. The pictures do not do the house justice, it is much more spacious and fit our group perfectly! We had such an easy check-in and were given a detailed run down of the house and all the amenities. We were pretty paranoid about the noise ordinance but didn't have any problems. We loved that the house was walking distance to downtown and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. If given the chance, we would 100% stay here again, was truly the perfect getaway.

We loved our stay at the Songwriter’s Sanctuary. Beautiful home, beautiful yard. David was as perfect concierge, there when we needed him and not when we didn’t. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate, so there wasn’t a lot of pool time. But we 11 girlfriends had a great time anyway. Only suggestion would suitcase racks in each room, or dressers even better. There was not a lot of room to unpack in some of the rooms. Better and more hair dryers would be good as well. All in all, a wonderful visit

This is a beautiful property in a great location. The owner/landlord is the most responsive I have ever encountered. We showed up and had a minor issue turning on the spa and he was there within minutes. I highly recommend this property for adults and families.

Excellent location with a fantastic, responsive and accommodating property manager. Home has an excellent layout lots of privacy with 2 bedrooms having their own areas. Nice master suite and with lots of space and direct access outside to the pool. Kitchen has everything you will need and then some. Pool area is beautiful, very private and sheltered ideal for 70 degree January weather. The location of this property is ideal for walking into town for shopping, drinks and dinner. The property manager dealt with any concerns or requests we had quickly and efficiently.

Songwriter’s Sanctuary is even better than it looks on VRBO!! This home is an amazing property and was ideal for our annual Boy’s Golf Trip! Great location, fantastic layout and amenities!
This is our 9th Annual in Palm Springs area and Host David is by far the best host we have dealt with over those years! I would highly recommend this property and the Mod Mansions team for a group or family visit!

House was well laid out for multiple family members to enjoy time together or apart and not disturb others whether they are early risers or late nighters. Pool/backyard offers privacy all around! EASY walking distance to the downtown area! We had in our family an 8 month in a stroller and it was perfect for baby/parents to return, and us to stay in town as he napped.
David was the perfect Ambassador!!! The amenities, location, and house layout made this perfect! We loved Palm Springs!

The house in the movie colony was fantastic. It is great location - and it is very walkable. I would stay there again. The communication with the team was impeccable. The hot tub didn't work for the first night we were there - but it was addressed quickly. The house layout is great for a large group.
I wish there was a outdoor shower. I also wish Palm Spring wasn't so strict with the music. I don't understand not being able to play music at all outside - yet every day there was leaf blowers and construction noise from neighbors.
I would stay there again. I would consider a house not located in such a restrictive city next time I visit.

This was such a perfect spot for our friends getaway, we booked next year as we were checking out! Beautiful house with a wonderful mix of spaces for indoor and outdoor enjoyment. The pool was a highlight of our summer stay, and was appointed with lounge chairs (7), plenty of rafts and pool noodles, and a variety of outdoor seating. The kitchen - very important for us - had everything you need to make gourmet meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms were immaculate and comfortable, and the layout of the house allowed to easily hang out together but feel that we could also retreat separately.
We did not have any issues with the driveway - we had 2 mid-size vehicles and it was no problem.

Loved our stay at this beautiful house, only negative was the parking situation, and very narrow driveway. We had small cars and just barely fit. Thank goodness we didn't rent the SUV we thought about.

This property is as close to perfect as you can get for a large, diverse group. It is well-appointed, a nice mixture of modernized (kitchen and a few of the baths) and retained character and charm. The outdoor areas are peaceful and inviting. The location can not be beat - we walked to almost every meal. The response time and communication from the manager was fantastic, perhaps the best I have experienced. I hope we can stay here again.

My (large) family and I had a wonderful time and this wonderful home. It's sizable - each of the six bedrooms essentially with its own bathroom - but retains a cozy feel. Kitchen was well-stocked to handle all 12 of us, complete with two dishwashers. The owners care deeply about your experience there and were very helpful during our stay. The back yard is lined with palms, making you feel like you have your own little island out in the desert. Nice, quiet neighborhood walkable to everything downtown.

We chose this house to use as a central meeting place for a post Christmas gathering. We had 4 families including 7 children. The house was wonderful. It is well supplied with kitchen items, and both bath and pool towels. We found the house very clean when we checked in. It is beautifully decorated, but is not filled with horribly delicate items that must be rescued from small children. As mentioned before, the bathroom that overlooks the pool could use a shade, but we too, used a towel. We were especially pleased with James and the reservation process and with Kenny and his attention to detail. He was right there when we needed him or had a question about how something in the house worked. The pool is very well maintained and our grandkids throughly enjoyed it. The neighborhood is quiet, and perfectly situtated for a quick walk to the center of town. The Farmer's Market in the center of town was fun to visit on Thursday evening, especially since we could walk to it. We highly reccommend the house and James and Kenny.

We had a wonderful time at this house as we celebrated my partner’s surprise retirement party here. This house was incredible and fabulous! From the initial reservation process with James to our personal greeting and tour of the house with Kenny and Jim, everything was made easy. The house itself is really well set up, not to mention comfortable and just beautiful. We had a large group of 12 adults and it was perfect. All but one group had their own bathroom, the kitchen was well stocked, and the dining room chandelier was so unique as it was made from an old wooden ladder. The pool was excellent and we ate outside every night and used the grill. The backdrop of sun setting over the mountains is magical. We wished we could have stayed longer. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone that wants a relaxed and private get away.

We rented this for 2014 thanks giving with total 4 families & kids to have fund time. The house, amenities and hospitality of Ken lived up to the expectations and exceeded too. The proximity of this house to major Palm Springs attractions is makes it a great deal at this price. Its in 15-30min drive from: Palm Springs Air tram, ATV, Living desert zoo. There are couple of places in 1-2hr driving distance for kids & adults to do snow tubbing and other fun activities.
Kids loved the swimming pool. Bedrooms are spacious, neat and comfy. One of the bed rooms and restroom need proper blinds, but the extra towels helped get the job done.
Overall this place has exceeded our expectations and provided an awesome getaway for our family and friends.
