About this house rental
The house is situated in the the heart of the village. Right accross from the cafe, and a few steps from the butcher, the grocery, the bakery, the church and several restaurants. The life of Provence is right outside the door. This is a village that is full of regular everyday life and real Provence charm. Lively during the day but peaceful at night.
In Goult there is plenty to see and it is easy to access good trails for walking. It is also close to many sights, towns, markets and outside activities.
The house is a stone village house on three floors. There is a courtyard with a small plunge pool and lounging area in the back. The house is old but was totally modernized in 2002. The atmosphere is light, simple and casual. The house can easily accommodate two families. Two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, two single rooms with two beds in each.

Goult is perhaps the least known and visited of the beautiful villages in the Petit Luberon. Perhaps because it isn't really visible from afar, like its more photogenic cousins, but certainly not because it isn't worth visiting. It's a little jewel of a village, with a very pleasant atmosphere, a good café on the main square, and a 'hidden' and beautifully preserved old neighbourhood.
Courtyard
Beautiful courtyard where we dine, read, cool off, nap and socialize. DIning table for 6-8. (Extra table in the basement) Waterwell, apple tree. Plungepool 3x2,5 meters. 1.40 meters deep. The courtyard is right outside the kitchen on the ground floor. Steps leed up to a patio off the first floor
First floor
Big open first floor. Living room with a view of the street and kitchen with big double doors out to the courtyard. Kitchen table seats 6 (extra dining table can be used from the courtyard). Modern kitchen with a dish washer and washing machine. Fireplace in the living room.
Second floor
Three bedrooms. Double bedroom with a sink and exit onto the patio overlooking the courtyard. Single bedroom with a pull out extra bed. Bedroom with bunk beds. Bathroom with a bath tub/shower and toilet.
Third floor
Big bedroom, study and bathroom with big shower and toilet. Big double windows looking out over the courtyard.
Goult is situated in the Luberon. The village is less than 10 minutes from Gordes, Roussillon, the castle of Lacoste, Ménerbes and Bonnieux. Cavaillon is 15mn away (motorway access), Avignon TGV station (30mn), international airport Marseille/Provence (50mn), St Rémy de Provence (35mn). Approx. 1 hour from the beaches and 2,5 hours from Nice.

We rent this property practically every year. Great house in a lovely village. Love this place. Very unsatisfied with Abritel as we encountered problems with our account which after many calls were never solved and never once did we receive any apologies or explanations. Customer service 0. Unacceptable.

We stayed at this property for one week. We were six adults in Goult for a wedding. The property is very large so there was more than enough space for all of us.
Some of our party enjoyed seeing the items left around the house that belonged to the owner. Others did not like to see (what appeared to be) the owners belongings everywhere. It depends if the visitor likes that homey feel or not.
Kitchen was in good working order and we enjoyed the plunge pool. It is a very quiet location and parking is about four doors away.

We decided that this house was so nice, it would be worth spending more than our budget and driving 4 hours to stay there. But we never got to, because two days before our stay, with no communication from the agent, I texted a number supplied by VRBO as the contact number and had a text exchange with a person who said that the property was not his! We called VRBO, and ultimately the VRBO rep told us we were entitled to a refund and should book another property. So we did. We eventually got the checkin info, at 3pm on day of arrival. Too little too late. Now VRBO is denying the refund, saying that 1 hour before checkin is adequate. So my beef if mainly with VRBO, but it could have been avoided with a simple message a few days ahead of time along the lines of "If I can't meet you personally, the keys will be at the bar across the street." Thanks for nothing, Mr. Linke.

This property will not disappoint. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Located in a small village on a hillside with beautiful bars, cafes, restaurants & shops. A markato (small supermarket) 1 min walk from the front door, a church, a souvenir shop & more. Roads are a bit scary but the locals are gorgeous. The medieval town is so beautiful and so different from what Aussies are used to, but take the risk, you will not regret it ❤️❤️❤️

Just lovely! Some minor tweaks could be made to make it even better.

Wonderful property in a great location. Came with friends for a wedding in Bonnieux and this was the perfect spot to stay - close to all the other little, surrounding towns. The Thursday market is literally out your front door and there is a great grocery store just a few doors down, with fresh local produce. It has been a family run business for seven generations.
The house is well equipped with everything you need and more.
We appreciated Christian’s suggestions for things to do in the area, especially our trip to Les Baux.

Goult has been referred to as an "unsung gem of the Luberon valley." This little town is utterly delightful with a great bakery, butcher shop, several terrific cafes, and a wonderful street market. The townhouse is smack dab in the center of everything, between a restaurant and the grocery store, across the street from the butcher, and, on market days, the front door leads right into the middle of all the activity. If I had to describe an ideal place to experience authentic Provence, I could not imagine doing any better than describing this place. I would happily stay here for a week or more simply soaking up the ambience.

Goult is just as described - charming and not too touristy with some good restaurants The house is spacious and well located with parking nearby. It was renovated 20 years ago and is now in need of a re-do. We are collectors ourselves but the mish mash of second hand "finds" verges on clutter. Kitchen filled with lots of "things" but short on necessities like a good set of pots and pans. Drawers and cupboards a mess. Metal door from kitchen to patio often impossible to open so we could only access patio via the second floor bedroom outside stairs. Patio area unkempt looking. Same for the top floor bedroom/study. Bed linens/pillows shabby and the portable metal rack for hangers and open shelves for towels and sheets does not make for an attractive/pleasant master suite. A newer sofa in the room almost looks out of place alongside all the other dilapidated furniture. The second floor bedrooms are in better condition. Some re-organization and attention to detail could improve all of this. .As for the premier host - after no response to emails inquiring about check in, we called to give an estimated arrival of 4-5PM It was agreed that we call on arrival day once we collected our rental car. We did call twice and left a message, arriving just before 5 PM with no one there. More calls and Christian eventually answered saying the cleaner was supposed to meet us but he would contact her regarding whereabouts of the keys. A few minutes later another call telling us the keys were behind some shutters near the front door! We inquired about instructions for the house - appliances, heating, what to do about garbage, checkout procedure,.etc. and were told "nobody asks about instructions". Turns out garbage is taken down the street, the heating thermostat was on a wall behind a mirror and so on. We were 2 people staying in a house that can accommodate 8 and were also leaving a day earlier than we'd paid for but were told there would be an extra charge if we turned the thermostat above 20 (fine but heat is listed on web page). Christian photographed the meter to monitor this, apparently not factoring in the lower use of hot water, lights, dishwasher, washing machine as well as sheets and towels for 2 vs 8 people..Oddly, the heat for the plunge pool was on all week (not by us). After picture taking of the heat meter we never saw him again. He was busy as a guide for a local tour group. There are better options out there if you look!

We had a very nice week in Goult. The house is very spacious and offers all comfort needed including a great pool to relax.
Unfortunately the internet access was not stable and not existing at ground floor. In case that's important, it should be checked whether its improved.

We loved our stay in this beautiful home in Goult! The home is beautifully decorated and spacious. And we loved the proximity to all of Goult’s village life. Thank you!

Fantastic place. Easy to get to. Good Beds. Fully furnished. Nice dip pool. Heated if needed. Good restaurants in town. Great Provencal stores and shops in town. It was not recommended for infants and there is no crib, but we made do and there was plenty of space when people needed it.

This house is perfect. We stayed for 3 weeks and enjoyed every minute. The house has everything you could possibly want and is comfortable and stylish great bedrooms and a lovely open plan sitting room kitchen area leading out to small private patio garden with plunge pool, table to eat at and fabulous antiques day bed. Lots of options of places to be all together or apart. The house is situated right in the heart of Goult one of the nicest villages in the Luberon, quiet and beautiful but with everything you could need. The butcher, epicerie, boulangerie are a few steps away along with places to eat or have a coffee or a drink and watch the world go by. It is also next door is the most beautiful antique shop in the world Gatti. Despite being in the centre of the village the house is quiet, private and spacious. The views from the top floor bedroom suite are stunning. We will definitely be back.

This was a lovely place to stay in the heat of summer (heatwave, actually) as the pool was used constantly and yet the house remained fairly cool throughout (although fans were used at night, as you would expect). The rooms were large and there was plenty of room for us all. Having a car, we could visit so many scenic places nearby. Christian was always attentive and helpful. Merci.

I have just returned from the best holiday ever in the village of Goult and the star of the trip was our house. I have stayed in the village before and always loved it, but this house created an entirely new experience. And Christian just made it even better. And he is Canadian so the ability to communicate in English was the piece de resistance ❤️

We had such a lovely stay. The setting was stunning with a beautiful courtyard for morning coffee and evening drinks. We were a group of 3 adults and 4 teens and the house was roomy and comfortable. The house had great amenities- easy public parking, laundry, shops nearby for food.
We left each morning after breakfast ( croissants from the bakery just down the street) fo our adventures in the area and returned to the quiet peaceful comfort of the villa. Goult is a lovely village with beautiful hikes, vistas and restaurants within walking distance.

We have stayed in this house many times over the last ten years. We love its position in the village of Goult, the style and the equipements along with the spacious rooms. However, we noticed that the house needs a little bit of TLC, especially in the little bedroom on the first floor (bed is broken and damage to the wall) and the walls generally require white wash. Nothing serious but considering the cost of the stay, it merits attention.

We have spent many vacations at this special place in Goult visiting with family and friends. The views of the Luberon are terrific, the local food is fabulous, and the cafe life across the street is lively. We enjoy walking the nearby hills, visiting vineyards and markets, and seeing the historic sites in Avignon, Arles, and Aix. In the summer, the plunge pool in the courtyard is a real plus, but we have also used the space during stays in the fall and spring. The amenities in this recently renovated house are up-to-date, within an historic setting. And all you need for meals are within a short stroll -- the bakery, butcher, and green grocer -- The market sets up once a week in the village square and there are three restaurants just around the corner.
