Emerald is a 12 bedroom family-friendly luxury beach home located directly on the beach in an exclusive, gated community with zero-entry pools. Handicapped accessible features. Elevators. Community firepit. The perfect vacation home for large groups, or small ones that like lots of space!
There are 3 beach side living rooms, one on each floor, in this home. Need a beverage? There are wet bars with mini-fridges and stand-alone ice-makers in the second and third floor living rooms so you can save yourself the trip down the stairs (or elevator!). Each floor also has its own washer and dryer because when you are on vacation why would you want to carry your clothes up and down the stairs (or in the elevator) more than you absolutely have to!?

In addition to the zero-entry community pool located right across the drive from the home, the home also has its own private, elevated dipping pool at living room level. Dipping does NOT mean itty bitty. Its a 20x12x3.5' Rectangle. Sit in your living room, watch your kids play in the pool outside, how cool is that!? Or enjoy that beverage overlooking the gulf!
And we added a gas pool heater to the deck pool, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 84 (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a per night surcharge for length of stay (gas is expensive right now, this does not actually recoup the cost!). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. You may add it after booking by simply requesting the pool be heated any time after making the reservation and at least a few days before check in so we can get it on before you arrive. See our FAQ about heatable pools too.

Two? Yes two. Because you won't want to stay somewhere without an extra fridge once you have had them. And mini-fridges in wet-bar areas on the other floors too! Plus.. 2 dishwashers.
PARKING
You can park 5-6 mid to full size vehicles in front and under the home. In addition, there are multiple overflow parking areas in the Cottages neighborhood, conveniently located nearby, not miles away!
WIFI/INTERNET? YOU BET!
YES! We have an awesome Eero multi-node mesh network fed by fiber optic for up to 1GB speeds (and we typically see 750+ in real world line speed tests at the home) to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home!? That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like? It is generally solid. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests "troubleshooting" it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!

Please note that the Cottages at Romar neighborhood association has determined that no weddings or special events may be hosted in the property. This is applicable to our Jewels by the Sea. However, although you cannot host weddings or special events at the Diamond, Emerald, or Sapphire, you certainly can stay there during your trip and enjoy these large homes, their luxury, and the terrific neighborhood amenities.

As with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a "starter supply" of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). All bed linens and bath towels are provided (bath towels, we provide 1.25* the MAX Guests (not however many you reported). That's a lot, like more than 55 for 44 people; however, if you plan to 'pack the house' AND expect to use more than one towel per person, then may want to bring some more. You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Also also... all our homes have both drip coffee makers and Keurigs as well.
You ll love staying at the Emerald at the Cottages at Romar. You ll wish you never had to go home. If you don t book early, you ll stop by wishing you could be here.
We have a number of smaller places as well, and also bigger: like taking 2 sides of a very nice duplex to get 20 (twenty!) bedrooms.

Everything was Great! We had an issue with the stove. Within 3 hrs. a maintenance person arrived and fix it. Unfortunately, the fix didn't work. Once we reported the problem, they advised a replacement stove would be installed the next day, and they did. Our family has been booking houses every summer for the last 15 years. This was the best in resolving maint issues

Our family of 16 recently stayed at the Emerald and we were blown away with the beautiful home and everything it has to offer. Right away we noticed the cleanliness, the abundance of everything needed (3 refrigerators, 3 dishwashers, washers and dryers, kitchen areas on upper levels), dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, and comfortable and inviting furniture. Our family of 16 included 8 adults and 8 children … we had plenty of room to spread out and not get in anyone’s way! On the top 2 floors were sitting areas, which included a bathroom, that allowed one to get away to read or just look out at the ocean view. A sliding glass door gave access to a balcony, if you desired to be outside.
We spent lots of time on the porch, which included many places where the adults could sit as the smaller kids enjoyed the pool. We also took advantage of the community pool when we were not at the beach. A large pool with different depths … averaging from walking into the pool to 6’.
Did we have any cons? Absolutely NOT! Don’t hesitate. Book this beautiful home … you will not be disappointed!

great place and loved the area. kitchen did not have all the stuff we needed for a group of 42. it had nothing: dish towels, dish rags, only one crockpot, no large bowls for serving, etc.. we had to go buy a broom and mop because we e couldn’t find anything

Beautiful home, The Emerald. We love the house, as it accommodates our large family very nicely. This was our second year staying there and rented it again next year.
Things we love:
The large open living area. We gather there for every meal and for family camaraderie in the evening.
The ice makers! (Some work better than others).
The three large refrigerators.
The elevator. We have several elderly and in-firmed people in our group that required the elevator.
The proximity to the beach.
The pool is wonderful and very well maintained.
The washers and dryers on each floor.
The air conditioners worked very nicely.
Things we'd improve... We would love if you would put beds ( or at least a pullout sofa) in the two beach facing living rooms on the third and fourth floors. As living rooms, they are of no use to us.

We have just returned from our stay (April 2022) we had great weather and a great experience at this house~ What a wonderful family vacation!! The home was so spacious and comfortable, we loved the pool overlooking the beach . We had 8 families with children ranging from 5-19! The room layout worked out perfectly! There were 3 refrigerators, 3 dishwashers, laundry on every level, as well as a wet bar and mini fridge on the two upper levels. The elevator made getting our belongings up and down easy..the 3rd and 4th floors also had additional living rooms, with TV and private bathroom, for those times you wanted to get away from the group...lol...The home was so accommodating, spacious, comfortable and nice for a large group! The kitchen and dining room set up as well as the outdoor seating was perfect for our group of 36! Our kids also loved walking across from the house to the community pool. The general location was great and close to many stores, restaurants, etc. We are planning a trip back for sure!

Stayed in both Emerald and Sapphire: Our vacation was a blast as always and everyone really enjoyed the homes. We had over 90 people this time around so we ended up renting another smaller home in the community. Most likely be renting the 2 houses again for the full week and possibly even your third home. The house was wonderful. It was perfect for my entire family as each family had their own floor. This came in handy with kids different ages and on different schedules. My older parents also appreciated the first floor master bedroom. The directions to the house and instructions were great and had everything we needed plus some! The kitchen and living room was a great size for family meals.
We did have a heating issue on the first night/Christmas Eve, but maintance came and made the repair within hours.

We had a nice stay. Highlights of the trip- Location. Loved being directly on the beach. Size. Everyone had their own bedroom and bathroom. Management co and pool service were A plus. Friendly, professional, timely. Pool and outside area were so nice and great for children and adults were happy in the shade. The multiple refrigerators were so nice to have because we were coming with contents from our emptied out freezers from home. It was so helpful to check in early and you added on another night and we are appreciative of that.

We LOVED your house - it is so spacious, well maintained, beds are comfortable, showers are good, huge common space, nice dining area, big kitchen, 3 refrigerators / dishwashers etc. The location of the house is amazing, with a gated community access, private beach access and view of the sunrise / sunset / ocean from the house. We loved the pool area and plenty of seating. Overall it is PERFECT. Our whole gang (7 families - total 27) loved the house. Our stay was great! There were a few items that I told the rental company about after our stay that I thought could use some attention but nothing that needed to be addressed during our stay. A few of the outdoor chairs had tears in the seat making them a little unsafe to sit on. Other than those couple of items the house was wonderful.

What a beautiful house, and so spacious! And the private pool was wonderful for our 13 adults and 8 grandkids! With little kids the extra washers/dryers were much appreciated. (The washer on the main living floor did stop working the day before we left.) Lots of refrigerators really helped us since we cooked every meal in the house- where do you get a reservation for 21 people- ages 1-72 ?!?! And lots of places to play, watch TV, do puzzles... just spread out... We could not have loaded and unloaded all the luggage and groceries without that elevator!!!! I love how close it was to the beach and of course that sand is perfect! Some days the seaweed was pretty thick, but there is nothing anyone can do about that. Being close to stores, souvenir shops, etc. was a bonus. Your support folks were very attentive!

I've finally settled down from an absolutely amazing weekend at your beautiful home, Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for a group of ladies on a weekend getaway. My group really enjoyed it. Having that pool on the back, facing the beach was the best thing to me.😊 The only problem was the slide door..having to walk around the house to get to the pool...🙄 but someone was there bright and early the next day to repair it. Thanks for your support in getting that problem resolved quickly. We really appreciated it.

We had a great stay! We went 4-1 in the tournament, losing in bracket play to a larger school in Arkansas. We played well and had a blast at the house and the beach. The house was great! It was clean, had plenty of space for our team, and was a great place for us to bond as a baseball team. I took my family with us as well, and they loved it. I think we took really good care of the house! The only issue we had is that a small piece of wood in one bed frame snapped when a kid sat on the bed, but I'm guessing it was already broken and should have been an easy fix for the maintenance crew. The management crew was fine - we really never needed them except a couple very minor maintenance issues (door handle and towel rod).... Again, we really enjoyed the house and the beach. It was perfect for our team! Thank you so much for working with us on booking the house. We may be coming back again next year or very soon (time to start discussing the future trips)!

We were a family of 17--all adults. Everyone had their own room/bath which was wonderful! 1/2 baths on every floor, too! The great room on the main floor was perfect for our meals that we cooked and loved the big, long table where everyone could enjoy their meals together. Location is spectacular! Looking out at the pool and beach was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that you would need including plates and utensils. Anyone looking for the perfect beach getaway should book the Emerald!

We had a fantastic family/friend vacation in this beautiful gated community. Communication between the owners and Southern Beach Rental Agency was seamless. It was extremely hot the week we stayed. We did have issues with the ice makers not keeping up, but we have 40 people in and out. It took one simple text to SBR and they had someone over in an hour to take a look. We had family from out of the country with us and they ended up staying an extra day, which prompted us to want to say with them. I called the owners to see if we could extend the time and late check out. Lucky for us the rental was open and the owners helped us out so we were able to spend another day and a half with family. Great experience! Can't wait to plan another trip!

The house has a great layout, 3 living rooms for people to spread out, bedrooms with bunks and king size beds.
