About this apartment rental
Inside a sixteenth-century building in the picturesque and central Piazza delle Erbe, on the third floor without a lift, a comfortable and independent apartment on two levels welcomes you.
In the first level you will find an open space with a large stately lounge, exposed beams and original inlaid wooden floor, illuminated by two windows overlooking the square and the magnificent Palazzo della Ragione. A decorative fireplace warms the room and makes it even more welcoming. You have a practical kitchen and a bathroom with shower. There is also a washing machine.
The second level is accessed through a spiral staircase of particular design, here there are two single beds, a wardrobe, a small desk and an antique sofa.
The apartment is not suitable for people with disabilities.
The apartment has an independent entrance, albeit inserted in a larger housing unit.
Convenient to all public services. The tram stop and all the main bus lines are five minutes away on foot; the station from which you can reach Venice in 25 minutes can be easily reached by tram or on foot (20 minutes)
The squares are the historical and social center of the city of Padua, in them the Paduan evening ritual of the spritz takes place, while in the morning we attend the picturesque city market where shopping is a pleasure for the senses.
The Verdi theater is a five-minute walk away and offers a high-level theater season.
The Scrovegni Chapel and most of the University buildings can be reached on foot in a few minutes.

Love, love the location right on Piazza Erbe. Fruit & veggie market area during the day; very active scene at night. Adjacent square (Ragione) had clothing market in a.m. Then vibrant street food stalls at night. Apartment is a bit old and creaky but that just added to the charm. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our 4th HomeAway apartment in Italy. The location was great. Right across the street from one of the oldest fruit markets in Italy, and around the corner from the main piazza. The apartment has issues with the air conditioning. Cold in the loft, yet surprisingly hot downstairs. My husband said it was like descending into Dante’s inferno. Other issues prevent me from giving this apartment 5-stars. There’s a tiny step in the middle of the apartment. My husband has sight problems, and he tripped several times on this inconspicuous step. The shower was small with low water pressure due to the age of the building. There’s no lift (also due to the age of the building), but there’s a washer. One final problem: No one told us which button to push downstairs to exit the building. Usually, it’s the red button on the front door. Not in this case. Also, a book of helpful hints on closest supermarket, garbage disposal, and sights in the area were given to us at each apartment we stayed at. But not here. That was another disappointing aspect of this apartment.
Overall, good location, but the apartment was a disappointment.

Great location. Market could be noisy but we closed the window and couldn't hear a thing. Wifi did go out but we dealt with it. We would stay here again. Close to Venice. Easy walk from the train station. Clean and comfortable.

beautiful apartment in great location!
My husband and I rented this apartment for the month of October as we were in Padova for work. The apartment is very nice and located in a perfect location.
Reasons why we liked the apartment itself:
- the bathroom has been recently remodeled. It is true that, as the owner says, the water pressure is a bit low, but that's not a big problem
- the kitchen has enough tools to cook basic meals. There is no oven or dishwasher, but we were able to cook lots of meals at home
- the bed is pretty comfortable
- the wireless connection worked well and allowed us to work from home as well. It was a bit discontinuous once more than one device was connected, particularly downstairs.
What could be improved in the apartment for long stays (not short ones):
- for a long stay such as ours, an additional set of sheets and towels would be helpful. The owner made those available to us once we asked, which was great
Reasons why we liked the location:
- the apartment is located within the pedestrian historic center, which is the best part of the city. All major sites are within 10-15 minutes walk.
- the square is beautiful and the apartment faces Palazzo della Ragione, gorgeous view
- there is a fruit and vegetables market downstairs which is great. The market is every morning except Sunday
- there are also supermarkets conveniently located, including one directly downstairs
- there are a variety of great coffee shops and restaurants close by
What could be challenging about the location:
- opening the windows means lots of noise at night and early morning. The square is pretty frequented by people every night and the market sets up early morning. Closing the windows is best and eliminates most of the noise

We loved this apartment.
I have been to Italy 7 times and this has been my best experience ever. This unit is right in the heart of everything. You literally walk out the door and you are in Piazza Erbe (which has fresh fruits and vegetables every day – paradise for a vegan). The apartment has a stove and refrigerator so we saved a fortune on eating out by making our meals at home. How about this, buying a bottle of Chianti downstairs for less than 3 Euros. Sunday we took the train to Venice (4.6 E) and spent the day. Last year I spent about $350 per night for a room in Venice. The train was only 30 minutes. What a savings.
This apartment has two windows overlooking the Piazza. One night we sat there and watched 50 people dancing in the Piazza to Andrea Bocelli music. We walked every night. The area was always crowed with other couples out to enjoy the evening. Not one hassle in the 7 days we were there. The apartment is in a well-maintained older building and really gives you the experience of living in the “old country” where my grandfather was born. The apartment is adorable and worked for us perfectly (we are both retired). You do have to deal with some stairs, but it was well worth it and burning those extra calories allowed me to enjoy more wine.
We are going back and will stay there again. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to be in the center of activity and experience the real Italian life style. Watch Rick Steve’s video on Padova and you will understand why this is such a great place to visit.

Geniale Lage
Danke

Delightful, full of character, centrally placed but not noisy and ideal for a couple.
My wife and sister had a wonderful time visiting friends and seeing Padua and the environs. Padua as a university city has a vibrant nightlife. Venice is a short and cheap train ride away as well. Padua is a gastronomic delight and local wines of good quality but you should forget about keeping your waistline.Interesting enough for my wife to want to buy a flat. However it was colder than anticipated in April
The flat is full of character and the only downsides are that it would be awkward for those with disabilities in that the bedroom is accessed via a narrow spiral staircase and the flat is several floors up. As the bathroom facilities are on the floor below if you are caught short at night the spiral staircase has to be navigated. A night jar would help. Further, the lock is a bit stiff at entrance level to the block and could do with oiling or replacing. My sister in law had to call on friendly locals to help on one occasion. Guests should also be aware that some of the plugs in the flat are not standard european, being from a different era, and therefore they should bring the full World spectrum adaptors to accommodate.
Having said the above the flat was clean and tidy and everything worked. The markets and shops were very accessible and access was given promptly, though knowledge of Italian or Spanish will help with the landlady's agent as she doesn't speak English
