The location, the air conditioning in the rooms, the privacy in the dorms and shelving/plugs. Great locker space and that the bathroom was only shared between 6. The Staff were very helpful, bed was comfier than other Chinese hostels.
No windows in the dorms, unclean and smelt like cigarettes. The aircon was leaking onto the ground and onto other peoples belongings, and wasn’t fixed when I asked staff about it. Overall unclean.

I liked the work of the staff who were polite, helpful and spoke English. Location is great: walking distance to metro stations, proximity to a street with cafes and restaurants. I also loved the yard where you can enjoy a conversation with other dwellers.
I wish Wi-Fi signal was stronger.

What I like is the atmosphere in lobby is really good, besides it is actually could to know other friends.
There is no exhaust fan and deodorant in the toilet of the male dormitory, so that the urine smell of the toilet can easily fill the entire dormitory, making people unable to stay for a long time

common space is a little shabby

The staff were super helpful on arrival after a struggle getting through immigration and not knowing about the credit card system there. Would recommend.

Their environment, nature and facilities. They have 2 female staffs who are very very helpful.
The staff boys lack in English language communication (maybe they don't need it)

Im very happy with the staff of the hostel, they let me make my own coffe and they had a very good response to some problems I had, I would like to go back for sure, also they help me to call a taxi to the airport at late night, they have hot shower and all toilet area is clean. It really deserves for that price.
May need to ask for a towel if you need one

The hostel is weel located in Shanghai and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Every morning we woke up at 6am because of the enormous noise made by the work in the room next door!

Theblocation, 5min from Pudong Avenue Metro station
Evetyhing is dirty. ok, its a youth hosyel, but dried worms on the bathrooms walls, water runing everywhere because of hair blocking the shower water exit.
Wifi doesnt work.
Staff is really slow and not efficient at all. One was even really a pain, not able to concentrate on what she was doing, starting all over again. Even to get a coffee last almost one hour. although there was no queue.
Cheap om, but even to expensive for what they offer. Though, the potential of this place is great. Pity its managed this way

The staff and people are amazing and every person told me that this place is unique in Shanghai with its social atmosphere - similar to European hostels. In other places people don't really talk to each other, but here you can sit down and have a great time in the lobby together with other guests and staff members. As one of the few hostels in Shanghai which have the certificate to host foreigners, I found people with a good level of English who helped me a lot (translating), recommended me food to try and places to visit, as well as some other international guests who have lived in China longer gave me great tips. I was also lucky to have some super nice roommates who answered all my questions and fed me when I was in doubt about what to eat here. The staff as well made sure they support me in every way and tried to solve every problem as quickly as possible. I rebooked this place 2 times since I arrived and will probably stay until I cannot find an apartment.
I think this place was booming before but the pandemic had a toll on this hostel too. There are many facilities which need maintenance and spaces could be cleaner. I would have been grateful for more guidance on address registration (they do it for you so you don't need to go to the police station in 24 hours), rebooking, SIM cards and where the facilities are and what I can use but I believe it was due to a language barrier. Unfortunately, the coffee machine was not working and there are not many cafes nearby but it is possible to order. It is also far from the centre so after 11 pm when the metro stops working it can be tricky to go back to the accommodation if you went out.
