Great location in the centre of Fishguard , in a converted church that has been wonderfully refurbished. Car parking very close by , owner will provide you with a pass for it.
Nothing - it was top notch.

Hands down the best hostel I've stayed in- what a beautiful house and what an incredible host! Steve truly couldn't do enough to make sure that I had a good trip- from the trip recommendations he kindly leaves in the room to actually offering to pick me up from the station if I needed, I have been so touched and even overwhelmed by his nonchalant kindness and generosity!

very comfortable, has everything you need and Steve the host is great.. nothing is too much trouble. we booked a second night for our return journey and will definately be booking each time we travel to Ireland ..
nothing, everything was brilliant

Nothing I give him 20/20

This is a beautifully refurbished old building. There is a large communal area where I chatted with other guests in the evening. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make a meal and you can help yourself to breakfast in the morning. I wasn't expecting that and it was very much appreciated.
The bedroom I had was clean, comfy and the bathroom was great. There are nice paintings on the walls and the place is just very homely.
It's in a central location, near a pub which serves good food. There's nothing not to like!

A very welcoming host who was happy to greet us at 10 pm when we arrived from the ferry Hostel was lovely and warm when we arrived on a cold winters day. we had a private room which was small but cosy with a lovely shower/ en-suite. We liked being able to make ourselves breakfast hostel style in the shared kitchen and the option to sit in the cosy communal lounge. Bread cereal etc was provided.

Close to ferry
The room was dirty with cobwebs everywhere. I told the owner who cleaned them immediately and was apologetic
The room was noisy from the house adjacent- they were having a loud party til the early hours. Poor night's sleep before a long journey, so defeated the point of staying there

Clean, fun, a really nice place to stay.
Steve was super friendly and he has thought of things most larger hotels haven't e.g, multi USB charging station next to the bed, a bin in the bed room not just the bathroom and toilet spray for when... well you know!
Its thoughtful touches like these that make life easier, simple, but brilliant. Well Done!!
Everywhere was super clean and the communal area and kitchen were fab too. Dishwasher can be used and even has an espresso machine!
Park on site or (more or less) opposite there is a car park (if a pass is not available) its £2 for 24hr... what!!!! So cheap.
Whats not to like.
Hope you all have a good stay as we did.

From the moment we pulled up at the door there was a lovely welcoming feeling.
Our host Steve was there to meet us and made us feel very at home and what a place! full of character and charm.
The town of Fishguard was a real discovery and having a stroll and cool-off swim at the lower harbour we wished we were only starting our trip not on the return leg. Steve our host was the magic element and we plan to be back. Anne and Alan.
No complaints

It is beautifully renovated upstairs. Steve was very friendly and the room was comfortable. It is close to town center and restaurant. There is an easy walk to the Harbor. Location not far from Cardigan and Poppit Sands. The hostel is very dog friendly.

Owner Steve was very helpful and welcoming. Interesting historic building in the centre of Fishguard. Great pub, cafe and fish & chip shop with five minutes' walk.
A small hostel so guests need to plan ahead arrival/departure. Some noise one night from a nearby pub. No big problems.

My stay of 5 January nights at James John Hamilton was totally warm and cosy. I am a frequent user of accommodation from 5star to 3star hotels. James John Hamilton equates to one of the best places that I have stayed.
I had a number of requirements such as parking my campervan (awaiting Ferry to Rosslare), and printing out my fit-to-travel document.
Stephen, the owner, could not have been more friendly and accommodating and met my requirements and some!
This converted school house is warm, clean and a delight, with many carefully positioned original works of art.
The feeling is thus a bespoke experience.
Stephen takes pride in the building as well as with the Fishguard community, and made several good local Fishguard suggestions for my eating and drinking needs.
Stephen additionally made gourmet meals which were a gift and which I accepted with glee.
I leave now for my ferry feeling very well looked after, thank you Stephen. Best wishes Jerry Gordon
