I went to the Lions game and the hotel is right down the street. Plenty of food options within walking distance. Also I felt very safe in the area. Check in and valet service was excellent. I will be staying here in the future.

The Atheneum gave us a giant suite for a reasonable cost. Check in was great and fast, agent was friendly and helpful, but the best part of the stay was the free shuttle with Captain Tony! We were able to leave our car and go out to dinner in the shuttle. Captain then picked us up and took us over to Cliff Bell's for a show and then got us again to take us back to the hotel. Not having to pay for parking or an Uber/Lyft was excellent. Captain Tony made our night fun and easy!

Our room was great. 2Queen was like a split ranch over 700 sq ft. Our room was very clean and the staff very pleasant. We enjoyed our stay at the Antheneum. The location was perfect we walked to the Fillmore and walked to Greektown.

The front desk worker was extremely rude, i had to over hear another guest being checked in to hear what the check out time was, the wifi info, complimentary breakfast she didnt tell us anything at all luckily we over heard someone else being checked in. I was double charged for the room after paying for it upfront i was charged again full price. After bringing it up and showing her proof she took my phone go show a manager who didnt know what to say about the situation at all, they asked another worker who also didnt know what to do other than id have to wait and see if someone can fix it Monday so I have $1,000 tied up for 1 night at a hotel on my wife’s birthday weekend. The sink has no running water the handles on the sink just spins around and no water comes out. The in room hot tub had several hairs in it that had to be cleaned out, the shower door wouldn’t close, there was stains on the floor. The iron did not work

Short overnight stay to see a show at the Fox Theater. Nice location with easy parking. Our king room was comfortable, although layout was "unique". I would stay here again when visiting Detroit.

The whole stay was great from staff being very friendly, polite and respectful to the valet staff opening & closing our doors for us. I will definitely stay here again! Even though the Res Wings didn’t win it didn’t stop our awesome time 😁

Very impressive hotel!! Excellent suite setup. Friendly staff. Close to Ford Field & LCA. Shuttle was available but felt comfortable walking back from night game @ LCA. Lots of restaurants in area too.

There was a mix up when we arrived and the hotel had given our room to someone else. They were very professional and quickly made it right. We were given free valet parking, a later check out time, and when I went to pay in the morning, discovered there was no charge for our room! I did not ask for any of these things and was beyond surprised and pleased.

The rooms were huge- with a living room area. My room was next to the elevator and I was worried about noise but it was nice and quiet. Clean. Nice place.

First room a bit shabby and smelt like cigarette smoke and febreeze. Second room better but with super bright white/blue LED lights and bad corporate art. Staff was great, decent value and it served our purposes (concert at Little Caesars) but will try something else next time.

Pleasant stay. The property is dated, but it's clean and the service is great. The location is well located to anything you'd want to do whether it's dine/gamble/drink. We would stay there again without hesitation.

We stayed in a unit right next to the lobby. The lobby music could be heard at all hours of the night. We had to use a white noise machine. Otherwise, the stay was fine.

Great place to stay, close to everything downtown. Rooms are getting older and it’s starting to show. (loose tiles, cracked and crumbling grout, etc). Stayed here six nights over the last month and haven’t had a room yet where the air conditioning has worked properly. All have been extra noisy and not very cool. Cleanliness inside the rooms seems to not be top priority. We stay here often and each time there’s something in the room that gets missed by housekeeping. Never so gross that we need a different room, but enough to say yuck and avoid or clean ourselves. Certainly things we shouldn’t have to deal with in a $250-$500 per night room.

The hotel was very nice and roomy. Bed was pretty comfortable. Our biggest complaint is that even tho the temperature on the thermostat said 60 degrees it felt like it was 78 in our room. It was horrible! I deal with hot flashes and I’m sure I don’t have to tell ya I didn’t sleep at all.

This hotel is starting to show its age, creaking floors, loose tiles, noisy air conditioner, etc. easy walk to sporting venues. Some staff were great, others a little apathetic.

Beautiful property, very clean, service was great! First time visitor so I didn't know the suites have stairs in them (not a lot) it would have been nice to know that. The bath/ soaking tubs need to be torn out and replaced with showers. I almost slipped and fell trying to enter the tub. Overall great hotel for the price. Great customer service and cleanliness are the most important for me and they provided both of those!

The property and the rooms were very nice and clean. Most importantly from check-in to check-out the staff was amazing. Very professional, accommodating, and kind. Highly recommend for any reason to be downtown, right in the heart of everything.

Not our first stay there. We love the hotel but now the area is party central near greek town. Loud motorcycles constantly, loud music from cars. The street in front gets grid lock from all of the party people cruising the area. On the rear of the hotel is no better. Street musicians and loud clubs with outdoor patios playing loud music. Never stayed on the weekdays but the weekend forget it.

We liked the convenient location: 3 blocks from Comerica and NFL stadium. It was very safe at any time of the day or night. The valet and shuttle staff were friendly and attentive. The suites were commodious even though the decor is a bit dated. Still very clean. A small criticism: we needed more trash bins throughout the space. Only two. Needed three at least.
