Positives: classic old hotel with a magnificent foyer and check in area. Negatives: the place has a funky unpleasant odor like a mouse died in the walls. The rooms only have heat via old steam radiators with no way to cool the room. We opened the window but were unable to achieve any cross ventilation to help lower the temperature— and it got down into the 40s at night. So we “slept” hot. The front desk staff provided a box fan, which was nice of them. So that helped a little. Plus we had the ceiling fan going too but it was like trying to sleep in a wind tunnel. I can’t imagine staying there in the summer!

We came here for our wedding anniversary. We were greeted each morning with the sounds of construction, beeping trucks, gravel being poured, it made our stay quite miserable. They should give you the heads up. Our room was dirty, we found cheese it’s Throughout the room and there were dirty close left behind. The heater stayed at one temp which was extremely hot. I will not return to this hotel.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but I wanted to warn people. This was so loud and noisy, the door to our room was so warped that it let in so much light from the hall, and you could see people walking by. It was so loud we could hear everything from people above, below, and beside us. There was no way to turn off the heat and it was really hot. The staff seemed nice but this place was awful. We stayed two nights because we were in town for an event and we couldn’t find another available room in town. I would give this place zero stars if possible and will sleep in my truck next time if there is no room available anywhere else.

Room was very nice, penty of space, very comfortable bed, and nice old style tile in bathroom.

This is a beautiful, historic hotel. Our double queen room was small but clean and comfortable. We did miss having a microwave and small fridge in the room. It would be nice if management provided hot water for tea in the lobby and morning coffee, although there was a Keurig In the room.

For as expensive as a night is at the Hotel Colorado they really lack amenities in the rooms. The so-called “suite“ was basically two rooms connected via a bathroom.
My second time here, I was hoping it would be better, it was not. I will definitely be choosing another hotel in Glenwood from now on.

Upgraded to the bell tower suite. Two balconies with views of Glenwood Springs and the mountains!

First time at the hotel, Colorado. Previously stayed at hotel Denver The Maxwell Anderson hotel, which is the new name for the hotel Denver get away with a lot of the charm, and raise the prices exorbitantly. The hotel Colorado was OK but not great.

There was NOT ONE table to put anything on in the bathroom. I couldn’t bring anything into the bathroom. Not my toiletries, nor any clothing. This is a dealbreaker and probably won’t stay here again. It’s an expensive hotel and it’s a shame that the bathroom has PLENTY of space to put a table and instead, besides the toilet tub and sink, it’s a huge empty bathroom…
The couch was probably the most uncomfortable couch I’ve ever sat on in a hotel room. One big rock…… Again, a pretty expensive hotel and fell short in a few areas. We only ate once in the restaurant and the food was really good!!
4.4
Overpriced and understaffed. If you go on a weekend and they are hosting a wedding, you get excluded from some of those pretty areas you see on their website. Elevators broke down. Tiny AC unit in window doesn’t cool the room enough. I would not recommend this place, lovely historic building on the outside, tired on the inside.

The Hotel is fantastic - full of history! The staff is super friendly and the location can't be beat.

A nice change from the standard lookikg hotels in the area. This is a throw back to the old days and was nice staying here

Does a great job combining genuine historic hotel experience with modern amenities.

Fast check in. Convenient location. The resturant was very good, but Room Service was terrible.
4.4
Great location. Fun weekend. Place is a historic & beautiful hotel.
Next trip I might try the Maxwell.
4.4
Quaint, lacking in staff.

The location is excellent for anything you would want to do. Hotel is stately, and historic

We did not get a pass to the pool and were told we could have gotten one if we had use Hotel Colorado app for our 1 night stsy. They were $50.00 a pearson!!! So we did not go to the pool! Verydissapointed Experian did Not give a choice!!!!

We have stayed at this same hotel a few times in past years. They have done quite a bit of renovation to it. We love all the history and the fact it is within walking distance to the Glenwood pool and the bridge to go across to the downtown area. The dining room food was very good and reasonably priced. We will go again.

Ive never been so disappointed in my life, nor any of the other times ive stayed. All other times i reserved the cheapest room they have and have always been treated very well, and received great service but not this time that i purchased the most expensiv was the worst experience abd service and didjt even get the room i reserved

The Hotel Colorado is a wonderful historical hotel and definitely a nice place to stay. We were in a recently renovated room - the room was big and we had air conditioning. The room was very clean and well decorated and we looked out over the outside plaza and sitting area - very pretty. The lobby and downstairs areas are definitely well worn. The coffee shop and gift store are very limited in their offerings. The food and drinks at the bar and restaurant were good. If you are a history buff - stay here!
4.4
The hotel was absolutely gorgeous! The history of the building is well displayed and obviously well cared for.
4.4
Beautiful hotel.
4.4
Very old hotel which comes with all the charms and flaws of an old building. Close proximity to the pool was worth it with two kids. Seems like every hotel room has a refrigerator these days but this one did not. Amenities described on Expedia not the same as provided which resulted in additional fees. Took time working with both the hotel and Expedia to resolve but both came through. Frustrating and a distraction from our trip. Very nice front patio to relax, eat or drink.

Great historical hotel that has been really taken care of. Within walking distance of down town Glenwood Springs and hot springs.
4.4
Wonderful hotel, very close to everything
4.4
The hotel is a historic gem. But it is worn down for sure.
4.4
Did not like that on top of paying a little much for the hotel you have to pay for parking. Love how historic the hotel is and close to food and pool.
4.4
Clean and comfortable
4.4
The facilities were worn. We expected the property to be well maintained for the price.
4.4
Absolutely loved my stay, it’s right next to all the main attractions. The Hot Springs, the restaurants and Adventure Park. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were much bigger than I thought they would be.
4.4
Lovely place.
4.4
Beautiful hotel. Clean, great staff. Very close to the swimming pools.
4.4
Love the history. Disappointed not to get the desperately-needed accessible room that I specifically booked. Left a night early because of that. Hugely disappointed that pool has become too expensive & crowded with all kids/all the time. We used to come a lot, enjoyed partial day fares, senior & military discounts, adult only hours. Huge detriment now to a return trip.
4.4
Wanted a view. Was given the court yard, and spa area. Big old trees blocked it all. Pet friendly, wonderful staff
4.4
Very nice place, the rooms are little bit old, hotel will need to go through a major upgrade over the years, 100 year old wood built building starting to slowly compress, door, jams, and floor are warped
4.4
Beautiful historic hotel. Excellent service and nice common areas. Standard room was simple but comfortable. The bathroom was small and the shower was weak - not surprising given the age of the structure.
