It was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean and comfortable

Good hotel with plenty of buses into Edinburgh. Comfortable. clean room and friendly staff.
Used the pool facilities in the morning. Noon checkout allowed us to do this

A decent hotel at a reasonable price in very expensive Edinburgh- good transport links to the city.
Hotel was clean and comfortable and has all you require without frills

Friendly check-in staff, we ungraded from a twin to a 'family' room with two double beds, it was well worth it for the extra space, but wardrobe & shelf space wasn't great, just ok for a couple of days stay. Only issue was all the same size rooms faced the same way, so we were overlooking the car park, but doubles or king rooms were all on the other side with great views! Drinks at the bar were a bit expensive but we expected that, breakfasts were good, and they were training new wait staff which is always good. Leaving the car safely parked and walking or getting the bus was one of the reasons we picked this hotel. We didn't use the pool (it was quite small) and the gym looked ok. All in all for a large chain hotel in a busy location it was very good, it seemed to be used by workers, groups and couples, we'd book it again.

I am surprised to be asked to review a stay that did not occur. On the date of the stay our travel was cancelled as were all the buses in Edinburgh. We were advised not to drive and could not travel. The hotel refused to refund our money on the grounds of having a strict cancellation policy. I found this an astonishing response given the extreme circumstances and have been left with no option but to pursue this matter further. As far as I am aware, taking or retaining money for services that were not rendered is tantamount to theft and I am incredulous that such an international company of purported high standing would take such as stance.

Hotel and staff first class. Our bathroom was small and shower poor but everything else exelent.

Nice stay - friendly staff good bar and breakfast and location handy for easy commute into Edinburgh. Rooms slightly dated bathrooms but otherwise fine.

Great room. Everything I needed. Good value for money.

The room was comfortable, however we were there during a game at the field and could hear the neighbors using the bathroom and talking loudly throughout the hallway. The doors of the rooms don’t close quietly, instead they slam shut so that was an inconvenience while trying to sleep.

It was a great stay, Holiday Inn location was very centrally located, easy access to public transport/ to city Centre/ Usher hall / airport. The breakfast buffet was a nice spread, for children there was pancake machine available. The bar too is reasonably priced. Had booked for 2 nights stay extended it by another day. Edinburgh Zoo is next door Taxi / Uber / Bolt easy access.

Hotel was bright, clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. However the building itself is in need of more care… chipped paintwork, marks on hallway walls and the hairdryers are either from the 1980s or extremely cheap (the one in my room smelt of burning and then blew its fuse within less than 30 seconds).

Disappointing- stayed here lots of times- but corridors are very shabby with worn carpets and chunks out the walls with luggage. So many trays and glasses left outside bedroom doors that lay for hours. Reception staff lovely but others not, made to feel like we were a hinderance. Pork sausages at breakfast uncooked and fried eggs had been lying for ages. The rooms are not cheap to stay at, very disappointed. We have loved staying here for years but doubt we will be back

Had a lovely stay. Made even better by being guest of the day! Got Prosecco on arrival and a fruit platter as well as an upgrade. Really made my stay special. Staff all friendly and helpful. Room service was delicious too. Thanks again. Will definitely be back.

Bedroom ok, clean. Tv large, very good. Bathroom floor width only door width. Opened to toilet, sink protruded, had to bend and twist down side of toilet in order to close door. Avoid room 403. Towels dirty marks.

The property evidently had various extensions and upgrades, but in some places, quite dated. The car park is free, but probably due to extensions, limited spaces, so you may need to use the Zoo car park. The pool was barely large enough to swim in and the sauna was out of order. That said, the room was immaculately clean, staff was very friendly and it has rather spacious breakfast/ dining area. I would stay there again.

It was good, breakfast pretty good, room was small but bed was comfortable… bathroom needs upgrade into a shower.

Excellent hotel close to Edinburgh city centre and the Airport

No electric outlets in the bathroom or near the nightstand next to the beds makes it challenging to get ready.

Only certain food available @ certain times!!
It was a bit far from City Center( bus 26)
Carpeting in hotel must be changed

only issue we had was my wife has limited mobility and it was hard for her to get from the road to the reception area. there was too many stairs and no lift till the bat area.
otherwise we enjoy our 2 days there.

At check in we found a double bed in our room when we had previously been assured this would be changed to two single beds. Inconveniently we had to change rooms. It was noisy with staff stepping outside to smoke and chat continuously throughout our stay. The choice of food in the dining room was poor and expensive. The downstairs ladies toilets near reception were unclean and unh

The corridor leading to the room I stayed in looked straight out of a slasher movie, it was dark and gloomy. The bottom of the hotel was nice and modern, but the room and hallways looked like they were last updated in the early 2000s. Its location isn’t very convenient, I wouldn’t come back here. It was too much of a pain to get here and back to the City Center to visit.

We enjoyed our stayed here very much and felt welcomed by the staff. It was a great introduction to the city of Edinburgh and we felt right at home due to the friendliness of the staff.

The whole hotel had a terrible smell, the bathroom in our room smelt like urine, the single beds were so uncomfortable. Moldy green/black ceiling tile on the 5th floor in the hallway. No fridges in rooms. Dirty around the property, garbage in the bushes, ashtray overflowing.

Close to the zoo / away from the bustle / but easily accessible to it

Convenient location to bus lines. Property was outdated for electrical needs. Needed bedside outlets and usb outlets. Some of the desk service were wonderful, while others could have cared less or were limited with language barriers. Two full days without WiFi, just when we needed it!!

The restaurant and bar area was excellent. The upstairs rooms are getting a bit run down
3.0
The rooms feel outdated, and they re very small, it seems like the hotel spent all of its money on the ground floor and the elevators are very small. The only good thing is that it is a five minute walk from the zoo
