I recently stayed at this hotel and while the location is excellent, with plenty of great restaurants nearby, the hotel itself needs major improvements. The building feels old and outdated, and unfortunately, the elevators were not working properly during my stay, which was quite inconvenient. To make matters worse, my room had a strong moldy smell, making it uncomfortable to stay in. This hotel has potential due to its prime location, but it desperately needs remodeling and better maintenance.

Excellent Golf front hotel, clean, comfortable bright. Excellent location.

Front desk was amazing and super personable! Hotel location was the best.. restaurants and stores across the street and 5 mins walk away. Restaurants and bar at the hotel were great as well, host and servers were extremely courteous and food/drinks were great! We loved our hotel room.. the view was exceptional!! We had everything we needed in our room. Definitely recommend to anyone and families. Also, out back there’s a side walk for walks that’s a mile long.

Bilmar was awesome for a quick weekend getaway! They had 2 pools, most rooms face directly in the beach, great restaurant onsite with live music, we rented bikes, the staff was so nice, amd my daughter and I both got welcome gifts! It was such a nice touch! Definitely will be back!! Highly recommend!

Nice property. We had a room with two queen beds. Oddly the beds were placed on the side of the room opposite the bathroom and consequently, we had to squeeze past the end of the bed and the bathroom wall in order to get into the main part of the room. It was really odd. There were only two of us so it worked out OK but if there were four in that same room, it would’ve been very claustrophobic.

Likes: Easy access to the beach, use of beach chairs and towels, pool accessories for kids, restaurant on site.
Dislikes: when we checked in we were told that our room was no longer available due to repairs being made. When I asked what the repairs were she said there was issues with water on the balcony. We were offered a different room and accepted it and before she finished checking us in our original room was reported to be repaired and ready after all. When we arrive to the room, the carpet was wet, the bed felt wet and the room had an overwhelming smell of bleach. My eyes started burning within the first 5 minutes of being in the room so we called down to the office and they got us into a different room. The new room was fine. You can tell that there are a lot of updates that need to be made. We were there on Labor Day weekend. The restaurant/bar across the street was very loud so I was thankful for my child's sound machine to block out the noise. Not sure we would chose the hotel again if we came back to this area.

Best place to stay on the island.

The property reeked of marijuana during our entire stay. Staff was not cordial or friendly and seemed Reluctant to help in anyway. The information that was given during check-in seem to be incorrect or the staff on property didn’t know what they were talking about. Towels were never available the three times we asked during the course of one day. We were told they would be available in 30 minutes and of course when we went back no towels. The beds were super uncomfortable and we actually left early because we could not wait to get back into our own beds.

Good and bad. Very friendly front desk both late night and at check-in. Nice fixtures but three night stay and could not get room cleaned, fresh towels or beds made.

Our room was clean & comfortable, but the part of the hotel we were in is more like a motel & had some construction being done. Sunday Karaoke at the Waves bar was a blast!
Parking is extremely limited at the hotel, although there is a lot across Gulf Blvd. we could (and did) use.
The front desk clerk named Heather is who made our stay so enjoyable. She gave us free drink tickets, for having “such a great attitude,” even though, as she said, “you may have to park across the street.”
We were checking out on Labor Day, so I asked for a later checkout than 11 am, knowing that very few people would be checking in on that Monday. Heather didn’t just extend us by an hour; she gave us until 2 pm! We got to really enjoy our last day in paradise.
The Bilmar could use some updating, but we totally enjoyed our last-minute staycation!

We stayed here because the Thunderbird had a two night minimum stay and we are repeat customers. We only needed one quick getaway so we opted to stay next door at Bilmar. I'm so glad that happened; we will now come back to the Bilmar for our next night off. The Bilmar far exceeded our expectations. Check in was quick, the amenities were all as advertised, the beach was perfect. There was a wedding taking place during our stay so one of the on site food options were closed for the event, but that did not take away from the experience. We will certainly be back this Fall...

We also love the Bilmar, hotel right on the beach .

Thought there was a hotel specific dining. Was expecting the option of better than chain restaurant. Also, the Wave was disappointing and overpriced for the lack of activity.

The hotel was nice enough and the staff was friendly. There were just a couple of things, such as a stinky fridge, dusty room, and no water pressure. All things I could get past for a night, but for a long stay would have been unhappy about. Location on the beach was excellent though! Restaurant was def very, staff was great.

The resort staff were warm and welcoming from the second we checked in; the beach access was amazing and the pools were awesome! Our room had a great view of the sunset and the kitchenette was super convenient for making breakfast. We’d absolutely stay again!

Had a wonderful time, it was our 51 wedding anniversary and my husband and I just wanted a weekend getaway, if staying in Treasure Island again would definitely recommend the Bilmar Beach Resort.

i like that the bikes, chairs and umbrella were free. I also like the ping pong table and pool tables along with other games. I like that you have options to eat on premises.

Staff was great and very accommodating. The grounds are kept immaculate as well as the rooms. The Bilmar is a great place and you don’t need to leave the property. It’s the full package. Thanks again to all! Shout out to Michael at Waves! Superior service during an incredibly busy night! Also to the sweet young girl that handed out water and towels in the hut by the pool. She was so so nice and helpful!

Staff was very friendly and tried to accommodate me, but for the issues I had versus the price we paid, they should have upgraded me to a nicer room in a nicer part of the Resort. I have asthma and very sensitive to chemical and perfume smells. The first room we entered had such a strong deodorizing smell that I had an asthma attack. It was so strong it bothered my daughter who does not have sensitivity to chemical smells. The second room was better, but did have a fragrance smell from deodorizing spray and both rooms had very old and very dirty carpets. We went to dinner and left the balcony door open to air out the room. Upon our return the room smelled so bad of marajuana that I could not go inside. I have an allergy to weed and my tongue and throat swell. We shut the balcony door and went to the pool. I went to the office and explained what was going on and they went to investigate. We went to bed after the smell died down. The next afternoon the weed smell was so strong, my Granddaughter could not stand to sit on the balcony. I called the office again. We had to keep balcony closed and I had to use my inhaler the entire two days. I returned home and put all my clothes in the laundry and after two washes you could still smell the marajuana smoke in my clothes. My husband confirmed and he was not at the motel. My clothes are now on the third wash!! I only gave three stars for the friendly staff and beautiful beach. I won’t return.

Very nice staff, clean, and convenient location.

The hotel did not live up to the pictures at all. Everything was old and worn. It felt dirty and not clean. It was extremely noisy, and there was free access to the rooms from the street, which made us feel unsafe. We were woken up in the middle of the night by someone banging loudly on the door.
We had a beautiful view from the rooms with a balcony, and the beach is beautiful as in the whole area. We were expecting a 4-star hotel as it was priced accordingly, but it is by no means one. Not recommended, especially not for families with children.

Super cute and super clean. The property is definitely dated but they are working on it now so that is a plus. The area in the back with music and chairs and access to the beCh was really nice. I would stay here again.

Stayed during the week, very low traffic, beach area is gorgeous, staff is incredible. Loved the amenities and even upgraded my room with no issues. Would definitely stay here again.
