Not a good im from toronto and travelling six hours by car and i thought the check in is 4:00 oclock. Im asking a big favour to the front desk girls to give me room even 3:00 oclock because we have wedding at 4:00 to attend. Very disappointed and im so stressed to stay in that hotel.

Got in and previous guest forgot a bag of food in fridge. Some parts of the room was dirty with crumbs. Felt cleaning was done quickly without anyone verifying if room was ready. I can just feel that it just wasnt clean. It’s one of those things you know when have travelled many times. Was tired driving land from New Brunswick and hotel was very busy with plenty of guests. Our first to stay at Sandman. I told myself no more next time.

Myself and my Husband rented the executive suite with a view for our anniversary and the room seemed to not have been properly cleaned. There had been stains on every towel and wash cloth, stains on the bedding and when pulling back the sheet found money in the bed which led me to believe the sheets were not changed. The shower curtain had stains and dirty portions the bath mad seemed to have been used several times. This stay for what was to be one of the highest level rooms was not pleasing. We had booked for two nights and wanted to leave after night one but were refused a refund if we departed early or we could receive new sheets to make the bed ourselves as there was no housekeeping for the evening. Only one of the elevators had been in service so it was a bit of a wait for the elevator at times. Right outside of our door there was a bucket to catch water from the ceiling as it was leaving majority of the night. This definitely would not be a stay I would do again.

Had a wonderful stay at the Sandman. I’ve stayed at other Sandman’s and have always had great experiences. This Sandman had wonderful staff interactions, exceptionally clean room , and great amenities. I drove to Montreal and there was ample parking. If you were to take transit, there is a bus and subway stop literally steps away. Would highly recommend Sandman to anyone going to Montreal.

It’s really convenient in terms of its location next to the metro station, however the hallway smells weird and the pillows are not that comfortable to sleep on. Other than these things, everything else is nice.

Because there was a special rate for this hotel (usually more expensive) and because it was steps away from the subway, we decided to stay here thinking it was a 4 star hotel and when would we try it again. It is impressive all the updates done to the hotel, brining it to this decade. More 3 star hotels should do this. The front staff was helpful, specially when their restaurant was closed and needed recommendations for dinner. Loved all the upgrades and qty available with their charging plugs (except bathroom), all the lamps and other ambient lights, including the reading tiny little lamps on the bed. Comfy furniture, comfy sofa bed, just amazing. While our room looked exactly like in the pictures, sadly it was already decaying. Our observations: -The wallpaper was peeling off in many areas of the room. -The night before our departure, a big storm hit the city and when I went to look out the window (which goes floor to ceiling), my feet were soaking wet. The water was coming in from outside the bottom edge, we reported it to the front desk at check out. -They missed an opportunity upgrading the bathroom, which sadly, too dark with still the same 1 light bulb to brighten the now darken room by a black wallpaper. -The fan did not work and there was indication of humidity by looking the bottom of the shower curtain with pink mildew and the wallpaper also peeling off. Hopefully the hotel addresses the big items of concern. I'd stay again for sure.

A bit time consuming with the traffic to go or come from downtown of Montreal we overlooked this aspect and the Uber cost is $45 . Otherwise it’s a suburban nice facility and comfortable.

I wished there was a rooftop patio space and I wished the elevators were renovated. And added some more elevators if possible. Also, invest in bigger/ larger towels and putting microwaves in each room and an ice machine on each floor. Everything else was amazing!!

Hotel location next to the metro station is a winner. It makes it easy to reach any part of Montreal without having to deal with the hassle of driving on the bridges, and finding a decent parking spot in town. The facilities are adequate and the personnel is friendly and courteous.

This hotel is definitely showing it's age. From the hotel entrance to the room itself. Walking towards and into the hotel the windows were dirty, pavement is in disrepair and driveway cracked. We found clumps of hair in the tub, wallpaper peeling, a fully rusted assist handle in the shower and the dirty windows ruined a nice view. The evening staff was pleasant and friendly, morning staff was less so. This hotel could really stand but based on what we paid the value was just not there.

I book a two night stay but was refused service after speaking to the front desk agent whom refused do accommodate me and my little boy he gave me the guarantee that I would get my money back but instead kept my money for the two night stay that I’ve already payed for and turned around and claim that we were never at the property. We are not even from Montreal that was a trip I booked on Expedia all payed for just for my sons birthday gift and as well as a reward for he’s performance in school I took time off work just for my son as a single mom I work hard and Instead of staying in a hotel I payed for we ended up spending time on the street of Montreal until we found someone to take us in for the night and payed for a bus back to our city. So hell no I would never recommend to stay at Sandman and would not recommend using Expedia as well cause after I contacted them they both came up with the excuse that o was a no show o sent Expedia the business card that the front desk gave me even gave them the gentleman’s name they still refused to refund me my money. Overall I call this a robbery on both side. I will never book with Expedia nor at Sandman. Maybe it was due to my complexion. That was a big disappointment.

Overall everything was fantastic only accept staff. I believe the front desk attendant was racist with me as I am of Indian race. She treated me in a different way as compared to others. And also, I know it was in Quebec and English is not their first language but if you are running such a huge hotel chain. Should have put staff that can talk proper English. When checked in at 7 in evening th black girl was struggling a lot. Couldn’t understand half of her words.
