We went to check in and the lobby was shut down (remodeled) Signs pointed to an interior area, but it took us a while to find check-in. Staff was pleasant. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (if it hadn't been a Thanksgiving trip, we would have changed hotels). Entry door and bedroom door needed a strong shoulder nudge to open either. Unit next to us had a large dog with a massive, annoying bark. One bedroom suite layout is nice. Bedroom, bath with separate living, kitchenette area. There was no dining area for breakfast, take out only. Eggs and sausage. Sausage were like pieces of leather. We have stayed at many Sonestas around the country. This was by far, the worst. Maybe after their renovations, it will get better.

After staying at this hotel several times, we felt we could return successfully. We arrived and saw the lobby closed for construction; had to call to find out where to check in. Agent was almost frantic with process. The room was beyond shabby. While we understand "under construction," the furniture was reminiscent of a "flop house"...dirty and torn. Full price for the situation with this hotel is unacceptable. It's chancey that we will return even after construction is completed.

Our stay was okay here. The place is a bit outdated and the sofa had some wear and tear to it. I was woken up in the morning to loud walking upstairs back and forth for a while. I could also hear it when I was trying to go to bed around 11 pm which was a bit annoying as we had been on a 6 hour road trip to get here. Overall, it was not bad as it had a kitchenette which was convenient as we had our daughter who is picky with eating out so we heated up ramen for her. I was unhappy that their gym was not available which I was not informed of until arriving. They were remodeling an area that blocked off that entrance.

Areas of large dark dark dark dirty deep stains on pull out couch for sleeping, chairs, lazy chairs, carpet. The outside ground is cleaner than inside carpet. Non smoking room had STRONG CIGARETTE SMELL. Horrible! No house keeping service after 3 pm. No room service.

The service was great; however, the property is going through renovations and it was noisy at times. The parking lot was full of construction materials. I had reserved a 2-bedroom suite, but due to renovations, was given 2 1-bedroom suites.

First of all, neither Hotels.com nor the hotel told us that the lobby and dining room were under renovation and check in and a grab and go breakfast area was set up in a small side room. We were expcted to bring our brerakfast back to our room where there was not 2 chairs that we could sit together in. The room was clean but the furniture was in poor condition. Chairs were ripped, fake leather torn. When we came back to our room in the evening, we discovered that there was one remote which did not work with with either TV. It took us two requests to have them replaced the next morning. The trash outside was overflowing and was being eaten by oposssums which was scaring the kids. It took us two requests to have the outside trash emptied. The following day, the trash was in the same condition even though I spoke to Lisa, the manager. When we were checking ou we went to the makeshift lobby to break a $20 bill so that we could leave a tip for the maid. ( Our perspective is that, no matter what the condition of property, the maids do not make a lot of money and they clean up after us). We were told that they normally do not give change but that they would make a 1 time exception. When we explained that we were trying to leave a tip, they were surprised. Never again.

The breakfast area and gym are closed for renovations. Breakfast has been temporarily set up around the front desk, but it’s not what was shown in the pictures. We were disappointed… If the breakfast area and gym are under renovation, I think that should be mentioned. The room and kitchen were spacious and comfortable to stay in.

Grounds of hotel, pool area, bbq area are all very nice. It does seem they spent all their budget on that prior to the rooms. First room we received the bed wasn’t made and it had a really terrible odour. I requested another room and was moved. The room was nicer but had obviously just had the carpet shampooed and was still damp under foot. Room may have been refurbished and was much better than first room. Still not like photos, location for Redondo beach and airport was what we needed and hotel satisfied this. Hotel was very quiet which was also good.

Stay anywhere but here. There was no lobby due to construction so we had to enter in a sketchy side door- and worse than that, no elevators present anywhere on the property. I had to lug my 50lb suitcase upstairs injuring my shoulder and tearing my suitcase. The curtains were torn. There were stains in the furniture. I took pictures. It looked like an old, dirty apartment complex with run down furniture. I will never stay at a Sonesta property again if this is their standard.

The most horrible place I’ve ever stayed at in my life. They made us wait over an hour after normal check-in to get our room. Gave us a room first that was wet and smelled like mildew and the second room they gave us had dirty clothes in the drawers in the bathroom and had a couch that was all cut up, they were also very rude to us when we tried to get back to our room to get something that was left in there

Safe location, with a nice pool and lobby. The room was not clean, especially the shower. The gym floor was not safe to work on, it was not a traditional gym floor with was very slippery. Any sweat on that floor and you'd fall.

I got there and the room was so disgusting, mold & mildew smell was God awful, I had to sleep on the couch in my sister's room. They couldn't do anything for me, except remove the daily fee, because I booked through a third party. I told the front desk; they shouldn't rent that room to anyone until it is cleaned. My room didn't have a shower curtain, and they told me I could come down to the front desk and get one, I installed it myself. Some of the images on the Hotels.com website, were not from this hotel, a bait & switch. They were undergoing construction, which was not mentioned when I was looking at the room. They also failed to mention that it was next door to a refinery. I will NEVER stay at a Sonesta ever again. I strongly suggest you remove it from your site, or make them update the description.

Pretty dated, and not pristine, but for lodging with a kitchen and living space for a family, it works. It was nice to be able to spread out while in town for beach volleyball tournaments with our teen daughters. The breakfast was much better than most free hotel breakfasts. Great coffee too. My issue with cleanliness was from some of the guests leaving garbage outside their doors... like lots of beer cans and a whole rotisserie chicken (which my husband finally threw away after we walked past it 5 or 6 times). Now that daily housekeeping is no longer a thing, I'm guessing that if guests were given instruction on where to empty garbage that would help.

There are signs in pool area that prohibit the use of music equipment other than personal headphones and if you don't have any front desk will provide them. Music and beer drinking by the case, trash can were fill with beer cans adults were inebriated with loud music thill 2:30AM when pool area closes at 10:00PM.

We always book with any Sonesta hotel because of the one or two-bedroom suites. We go on family trips occasionally so comfort and accommodations are always priority. With Sonesta in Torrence, we stayed on the third floor suite. Although the suite was beyond expected, the floors can do some cleaning (our feet and my son’s knees were black from dirt) and someone’s pets must had fleas because we got bit on our legs. Other than that, it was a great stay! And they provided breakfast!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this Sonesta ES location. The grounds were very reminiscent of hotels in Maui. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. The room was perfect and clean! The pool, spa and BBQ area were fantastic! Good job to the whole staff at this location for making our stay a great one!

I encountered several inconveniences during my stay. The key card frequently demagnetized, necessitating multiple trips to the office for replacements. Additionally, I had to request and wait for towels. The furniture was old, dilapidated, and unclean, and there was mildew in the bathrooms.

The Staff was extremely nice and helpful here! Nice courtyard for relaxing. Suite was clean. Had great complimentary breakfast buffet. We would definitely stay here again.
