Tv not working
Told reception Maria and was assured she would sort it or change rooms, Spa not open, went to David Lloyd, back after 2 hours, Maria had left and done nothing, then told they could do anything or change rooms, mattress was tired with springs sticking through room 113, very limited menu and couldn’t do veg options, took taxi to dine out

Nice hotel, just off the M42 / M6.
3.5
Comfortable room, clean. Friendly staff. Good location.
3.5
The communal areas ok and the staff are helpful. The room however is in need of an overhaul with paint flaking from the skirting board and obvious mould growth in the bathroom
3.5
Great stay, good location for my needs and friendly staff.

This hotel has a regular LOUD Friday night disco until MIDNIGHT! I was 3 floors up and with windows closed, felt the rumble of the boom boom boom, heard the music and the DJ talking, and then at midnight loud groups leaving and waiting for taxis for the next 15 minutes. Even a drunk bloke singing loudly to himself. Outrageous! Poor night's sleep, and I will ask for a refund via hotels.com. I have several videos for evidence. Oh. And the lift was out of order to top it all off.

Hotel is comfortable and just needs a facelift.
3.5
Ideal for what we wanted and close enough to the NEC

The hotel room was adequate for a single nights stay. Generally a very tired looking hotel but clean nevertheless. Shower head was weirdly placed so could not use properly due to poor design. Also, not a great idea to have smokers sit right outside the front door.

My first room was very tired. Carpet was several different shades of brown with burned in marks from someone leaving an iron on the carpet.
The bathroom was also showing signs of desperately needing renovation. No toilet roll (I guess because the holder had fallen off so they forgot). The bathroom also had a really bad smell, maybe stagnant water. Not sure.
I asked to move after the first night. Reception didn't apologise at all, just wanted to double check what kind of room I had so they didn't accidentally upgrade me as I moved.
Second room was better, carpet had clearly been changed semi-recently so less inclined to keep my shoes on the whole time.
Bed was clean and comfortable enough.
Aside from the experience with reception staff when I was moving everyone else was really lovely.
Wouldn't recommend, even for the price.

I believe this to be one of the worst stays I had with my partner on the weekend. We both looked forward to a romantic trip this weekend and had booked the Friday and Saturday.
I twice called downstairs to speak to the receptionist about the smell in one of the corridors and no one decided to pick up the phone.
The fire alarm also woke me up at 6am Sunday morning and as I was just getting back to sleep, it went off again at 6:30am. I spoke to the receptionist about it and he basically didn’t seem interested in what I had to say.
It was a shame really as me and my partner believed this would be a very good hotel to spend our anniversary but unfortunately it was not to be.

Friendly staff, good bars, nice food

Comfortable

The room was very disappointing and basic
Not a reflection of the overall look & feel
Harry Bar looked great as did the cafe room
So we had high hopes for the room. We got quite a shock, the room was basic, curtains looked like something I had as a student
Bath was filthy
Bathroom was old fashioned and clearly not maintained

Very nice , good food, entertainment was a bonus

The bed did not have a mattress orotector on and the matress including sheet had stains on (dont want to know what off) shower head was full of limescale and didnt come out properly pillow case was stained to death pillow protector had hairs embedded in it as did the matress top very outdated furniture like from a very elderly persons house back in the day we also annoyingly got woken up by the fire alarm which had went off as soon as we skimpered clothes on to leave and nothing was said about it nor was i asked how my stay was, a hostel would probleys have been a better stay

Hotel looked tired, lift not working had to carry our own bags.

Unfortunately, this hotel has gone down significantly. Firstly, there was noone on the desk to check in. Had to wait ages for someone to come. The hallways and bedrooms smelt really badly and the rooms are just tired and aged. Vile

Room was a good size for a family of 4. Hotel was lovely. Jack at Reception was friendly and professional. The only negative was the shower. The water was too hot to shower under. Jack was made aware in the morning and compensated us accordingly. Very happy with this. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay again.
3.5
Hotel and room were to be expected for the price. The hotel is a no frills typical 3 star. The food was nice and the bar area has been done up well. The lift was not working and as I was told is very ‘temperamental’ so do not expect it to be working when you stay.
3.5
I didn't expect too much, as the hotel was a cheap option as a stop on business. It managed to deliver below my low expectation. The first interaction that you have is to be charged £10 for parking. I searched online for a hotel with parking, and I would likely have chosen a different option. The first thing that you experience at this hotel is a mugging. The room was nothing like the pictures. Dated, awful furniture and a bed that might has passed as a trampoline. Just dismal. There were doors banging until the small hours, and this started again in the morning. No soft close mechanisms. The large gap at the bottom of the door ensured that light came in from the corridor so the room was never dark. In the morning the shower didn't work so I had to have a bath, but at least the water was warm. Nothing about this hotel makes me ever want to go back. As someone else has noted you are not asked how your stay was when you check out. They know.

I stay here often; and will continue to, but some of the rooms are in desperate need of a refurbish.
Good is excellent, especially breakfast, but service is rather poor from the waitresses.
Needs some work, but remains to be a good value and well located hotel.
3.5
No WIFI coverage in the room and lights not working.
3.5
Firstly I was charged £10 to park even though the only reason you would be there is to stay at the hotel. Just add £10 to the rate.
The receptionist was very rude and did not provide any details or information about the hotel.
The room was extremely dated, run down and damaged in places. The bed was the worst I have ever slept on.

Friendly staff, quick check in and a clean room

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at the Regency for a business trip. This time around we booked it last minute as our original hotel in Coleshill was awful and we had enjoyed our previous stay here. There is plenty of parking on site, they've added more electric car ports since the last time, even though we don't have one it's good to see. The staff are very friendly, rooms are clean and spacious with comfy beds, fresh towels and decent sized TV. The attached bar and restaraunt is fantastic, a little pricey but expected from a hotel bar and restaraunt. The food however is amazing so it definitely felt worth the price again with friendly staff.

We stayed in a room that was not refurbished. The mattress had no springs, it was older than me?
Very basic. But clean and the bar and restraunts were newly refurbed.
3.5
Perhaps more modernised. Cupboards very old. Bathroom outdated.
3.5
You will definitely not able to sleep in their beds
3.5
Rooms a bit tired, noisy during the night. Hotel in general a bit run down. Ok for short notice booking.
3.5
The lift was broken, the room was hard to find, but the worst problem was that there was only scalding hot water in the shower, and the cold water did not work in the bath either. That said, the staff were friendly and eager to help
3.5
Quite a nice hotel and was a decent price but the hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment. The lift wasn’t working which is inconvenient when on the second floor. My room was very spacious but only had 2 usable electrical sockets if you kept the television plugged in. One of these could only really be used for charging up something as it was in the entrance to the room well away from the desk or beds. There were a couple of plug sockets circa. 1970 which only took very old fashioned plugs similar to those used pre 1970. I asked at reception if they had any adaptors so that I could use one of these but the receptionist didn’t understand my request. The bed was comfortable enough but the pillows were far too firm for me.
3.5
It was an ok hotel only downside was I booked for the wrong day by accident and tried changing the date literally a couple minutes after booking when I realised but they wouldn’t change the date so I had to book another night so one nights stay was double the cost

It does the job for the price

Low price, unmanned reception - waited for someone to arrive to check in (no bell), room poor maintained but clean, old uncomfortable bed

Lovely hotel. Fairly inexpensive. Very convenient - short distance from major roads but didn't feel like it. Clean but basic. Looked like it had seen better days - clear signs of people trying hard to keep the place clean and fresh but it had a TV from the 80s and few comforts in the room. The only thing that would put me off staying again is the mattress which was the worst I've ever slept on. My partner weighs around 90kg - he lay down and sank into the bed, causing a massive dip. I weigh around 50kg and was left trying to sleep on the other side which then sloped at 30 degrees. I kept rolling back into my partner. It would have been funny if I wasn't so tired.
Great pizza in the restaurant downstairs. Friendly staff.

Stayed in a family room (2 singles and a double). Room was clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Shower was powerful and toiletries provided. Bar area/restaurant has just been renovated and was modern and drinks were reasonably priced for a hotel. For the price it was perfect. Distance to NEC was 15-16 mins on Saturday and Sunday. Check in and our was easy and staff very friendly.

It was a lovely place but a bit tired and the pool wasn’t open. Our bed was v hard but friend’s bed was comfy.
Bar/restaurant was good, lovely staff.
We were there overnight for an event at Resorts World and for the purpose I would stay again.
