Given that this is a Fairmont hotel, we were surprised at the lack of amenities that the hotel offered. No restaurants or shops were available. The only way to get food in the middle of the afternoon was room service. Check-in was a nightmare - the line to check-in stretched across the lobby. In room WiFi did not work. Limited towels and robes.

The AC did not work. I’m not exaggerating I put it all the way down to 61 degrees just to see with the fan on high, I was sweating. Additionally, they were working on the sprinklers and it kept beeping so loud. There was NO notice this would be happening and when I called the front desk to ask what was going on as it was after midnight they cut me off and said it’s just the sprinklers they’ll be done soon. Okay rude? Then without telling me they pull a $500 hold on my card for the room. Which is FINE however the man who checked me in didn’t tell me anything whatsoever about a hold. However he was soooo prompt to tell me that there was a $50 early check in fee. Okay cheap and rude? Very tacky hotel do not reccoment

Stay was just amazing from check in to check out!! Mya at the front desk went above and beyond during check in and even suggested a place for breakfast, it was called Wildberry and it was delicious. My friend was impressed that room service not only came in and cleaned our room, but straightened out my shoes and tidied up my toiletries and everything that was NOT in the suitcase, LOL! We ordered room service a couple of times and drinks at the bar, and even though we were there for a fairly large event, the wait times were not so bad. The valet at the door were extremely friendly each time we came and went, the bell hop held our luggage due to our flights were later in the day. We got an early check in and a late check out. EVERYONE was friendly. We were there for the Brian Culbertson Chicago jazz getaway and it was fabulous!! At no point during the trip were we disappointed—we would definitely stay at Fairmont Millenium again. Thank you one and all for a wonderful experience. BTW, Chicago has the BEST skyline I have ever seen!

Immediately from check in, I was liking this place. Hotel bar and coffee were good. Had consistently great service from the staff. This is an excellent location to see the city or attend a conference like I was.
4.2
Was a good experience. Stayed for 5 days and overall it was great.
My only issue was that housekeeping put dirty cups back in the bathroom like they were clean.

My recent stay at the Fairmont Chicago had its ups and downs. On the positive side, the location is excellent, putting you right in the heart of the city with easy access to key attractions. The hotel was also very clean, which I appreciated. However, the decor feels quite dated and could use an update to match the hotel's otherwise high standards. The biggest drawback was the noise. The hotel was very loud, and the noise continued well into the night, making it challenging to get a good night's sleep. While the location and cleanliness were strong points, the overall experience was marred by the outdated decor and the disruptive noise levels.

Loved our suite - what a great view of city. Only issue was wish hotel had initiated turn down service for pull out sofa since they knew we booked for 3 people. Staff was quickly responsive and courteous once we placed the request. Also wish room had 3 robes rather than one since we had 3 adult occupants.
4.2
Over priced and slightly old, looks little run down. Needs renovation, to justify the price tag
4.2
Efficient and accommodating staff.
4.2
We like there were separate Bath tub, Shower stall, and toilet area. All plumbing are in working order. Spaces clean room. Hotel is close to major attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Area need improvement would be: found stains on body towel. A one-time incident that the cleaning maid ignored the Privacy Sign hanging on the door. Additional amenity such as microwave and small refrigerator in the room would be useful. A Queen size bed would be more comfortable for 2 persons compared to the Double bed of current setup. Least like is the Resort Fee and Car parking fee.
4.2
did not like the fact that i had to hidden fees per day for urban experience
4.2
Front Desk and some restaurant staff weren't very helpful. Rooms weren't very clean and there were mandatory hidden fees plus taxes.
4.2
I did not like that there were a lot of hidden fees.
4.2
Overall our experience was good. Our room was nice, the walls need paint and some freshening up. The staff at the bar is amazing. There was one staff member at the check in desk who was quite rude to a number of people. Which is the reason for my low staff rating. I would stay here again; I would avoid dealing with that man though.
4.2
Too expensive, hidden fees, unhelpful staff, mediocre food, dirty rooms.
4.2
Th room was not in a great condition, old and some things didn't work (the phone, some light bulbs, etc.

Excellent location, staff and facilities!

For the price there wasn’t anything unique or overly outstanding about it

Two teenage daughters and mom were in town for Lollapalooza and sightseeing. The hotel was located less than a mile from Grant Park and a reasonable walk to many sights in Chicago (close to the Bean and Michigan Avenue). We had room with double beds. Nice spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable and quiet. Beds were a little small for us. We didn’t utilize room service but DoorDash was easily accessible. We needed a refrigerator for water bottles because it was so hot but the room only had a minibar and we couldn’t cool anything. It was a bit confusing to walk to the hotel as it was tucked away and many roads were closed for Lollapalooza so we had to walk around some office buildings to find it. For this kind of trip a more family friendly hotel would have been preferable to this higher end expensive hotel.

We had high hopes for this expensive hotel, but we were disappointed by the cleanliness, hidden fees, and needs for update. When we were preparing for arrival, the options for parking were incredibly confusing and frustrating, as this is a complex area of the city to drive and park. We were unaware of the cost of parking, and that self-park was in a garage across the street, which would have been our preference. However, without clear instructions on parking options, we ended up using the valet. Upon arrival, I was shown what was included in the "urban experience fee", which was pretty useless, and should have been folded into the nightly cost (why are we charging for wifi in 2024?). It's not a resort. Included was $10 per room for breakfast, which would have gotten us a single kids meal. The hallway to our room had peeling wallpaper, the carpet in and outside the room was fraying at the edges, and we had cracked tiles and the most poorly designed bathroom which made it very awkward to use. Water pressure was terrible, and while the provided toiletries were luxury, they smelled strongly. There was a leftover french fry on our mini bar, the coffee cups were dusty, and there was a layer of dust and grime on all of the baseboard tiles. The beds weren't all that comfortable, and the pillows were terrible. We could clearly hear our neighbor's music at 11 pm through the walls. The cost for room+fees+taxes+parking was about $1600 for two nights, and it was not at all worth it.

My entire experience at this hotel has shown me why people have mostly resorted to using Air BnB. I arrived for my early check in and was charged 100 dollars more than what this website told me (which yes, i understand that there will be more fees but at least have the morals to be up front about what you are charging for) 600 dollars for the experience I had is a complete waste of money. The clerk at the front gave us the wrong room, so essentially I paid 50 extra dollars for an early check in to be put in a room with dirty sheets, glasses, and towels. The house keeper literally came in while we were in there. She was just as confused as we were. The managers were very nice and upgraded our room to one with a view, but also all the shower supplies were empty. The service on the tv was terrible. But the weirdest part was that at 7am, someone attempted to enter our room, unlocked the door and tried to come in while we were sleeping. Our check out was at 11am, so there is no reason any staff member should be entering. I can only assume it was a staff member, or a customer given the wrong room key, since they managed to open the door, but luckily we chained our door. I will never come here again, and maybe any hotel for the price I paid for the experience I gained. I’ve had better experiences in Motels than this establishment. Waste of money. Whoever runs this place needs to rethink their whole facility. Only good thing was the bed.

It’s a nice hotel. Rooms are clean and and comfortable

Always my favorite place to stay when I visit downtown Chicago. Staff is AMAZING, restaurant has great food, comfy clean beds and easy access to anywhere in the city.

Beautiful hotel, great location, and great views. Staff just isn't very friendly for a hotel that costs that much

Great experieny

Knowing other Fairmont's Hotels (Montreal's Queen Elizabeth, Quebec's Château Frontenac and Toronto's Royal York), Chicago's Millenium Park is certainly not up to these standards, nor up to Fairmont's reputation. The Chicago location is in a poor shape: the restaurant is closed for construction, so is the bar. Waking up to jackhammer noise is not my definition of vacation. I understand they renovated some of the rooms already, they offered me to upgrade for a ridiculously high price, but my room was very very dated. As a hotel does renovation, I think they should simply close the location, so they would not loose their reputation and definitely some clients as I.

Breakfast was a little confused as a grab and go. Overall good location near the bean and train bus connection excellent. Would stay again.

Close to the riverwalk and staffs are kind

Concierge was rude. AC broken. No shower pressure.
4.2
Very nice place convenient to everything

I have stayed at many Fairmonts. This one was a disappointment. The room was very tired and lacking chargers for both guests on the nightstand. Only one side of the bed had accommodations. Not even a digital clock that you could see at night but an old style face clock which is not useful. The staff was very friendly but I will not stay here the next time I visit Chicago.

Close to every where

Good just very expensive
4.2
The hotel was very underwhelming. I paid about 3 times what I have paid for other hotel rooms around the country and usually I don't go for luxury, just convenience, but this time, I thought I would splurge for my birthday and get something nice. When we arrived, I thought the place looked very nice, and there was a gentleman named Benjamin outside that was very friendly. When we went in to check in, I was told there would be almost $400 to pre-pay for the 3 nights I would be there in case I used their amenities. I also asked if there was a refrigerator and microwave in the room since it stated during the reservation that we just needed to let them know of we wanted them. The person checking is in said they would bring them right up. I thought the pre-pay fee was a bit excessive, but once we got upstairs, it was a very plain hotel room like any other cheap one I've stayed at. The only difference is that it had a wine bar and a refrigerator that had sodas and water in it and a little tray with small boxes of candy, cookies, and nuts. I thought it was all really cute, but scanned a QR code to see how much everything was and drinks range from $6 to $35 per drink and the snacks ranges from $8 to $16. We decided to not use anything from the room since it was not worth it. We didn't get the refrigerator or microwave until we called again the second day. I'm running out of space for the review, but not worth the price at all. Looks pretty on the outside though.
