So Great!

Beautiful hotel.
It took a 1/2 hour to check me into the hotel because they forgot to reserve my room from Expedia. It wasn’t Expedia’s fault but the hotel.

Gorgeous grounds, delicious food at the Cultra Inn Restaurant, and luxurious rooms! I got a suite and it was absolutely stunning! It's a shame I only stayed one night before my flight because it was truly an incredible property! The bathroom was so fancy with a huge immaculate bathtub and separate shower. The bed was tall and huge with giant pillows. The room was massive and had a lounge area and stunning view of the surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful and professional. I can't complain about this stay.

Wonderful staff and great place to stay

Fantastic stay at the Culloden estate and spa. Disappointing the gym was closed during my visit, but the friendliness of the staff, the great food and quiet location certainly make up for it! Thank you for a great stay!

The hotel and grounds were very peaceful.
4.4
The hotel is very nice and well presented. The pool was closed which was disappointing, for the cost I would have hoped that I could have been forewarned.
4.4
The nicest overall hotel I’ve stayed in, over my 66 years. First class in almost every respect, except that when checking in the luggage and room introduction service was well below average.
But they may have been overtaxed with a Rolls Royce on site event in progress at the time?
4.4
Not good value. Premium paid for location in countryside which is within 100 metres of highway. Dining facilities were not set up for remote location. No formal dining facility on Sundays and other weekend evenings already fully booked with neighbourhood reservations. Service staff were not focused and many not properly trained.
4.4
Went here for our anniversary and will definitely be back.
4.4
Very nice staff, but tired and overpriced, especially the additional £50 we were made to pay for breakfast on top of the room rate.
4.4
The food was not good and the service was very slow and impersonal the big bed was two beds pushed together not comfortable to much money for not great service i am sorry would not recommend anyone to stay.

Wonderful stay. Fabulous room, attentive staff, delicious food.

Amazingly helpful and courteous staff.
4.4
Great but would have preferred a forward garden view not a rear o E as the Hotel was not full . Noise from the a/c from the Spa was irritating.

We enjoyed our stay the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is spotless and the grounds are amazing. The culture Inn is lovely for dinner and again the service excellent

Staff member working in spa was clearly really agitated. Seemed understaffed in there as she said she was just on by herself and there was no coffee available. She did come back over in the end and asked what coffees I would like which I appreciated but there was no sugar etc, she seemed quite stressed. Two coffees were £6 too, you think you would get sugar etc with this for that price! When I asked for a drinks menu she said she needed to sort other people out and i never got a menu. Room was just okay, air con was so loud to sleep to and I asked for a room with nice view and didn’t get that. No complimentary toothpaste. Staff on the bar were all quite young and didn’t come down to ask us if we wanted drinks etc they just stayed talking around the bar. (Only table service so we were just sat waiting and they weren’t even busy). There was no music etc prices were so dear and the cocktails/ Guinness were not even nice! Really small menu of cocktails and when I asked for one they said they had to check they had the ingredients? Also asked for nuts/ crisps for snacks and they said they only did chilli popcorn which came in a wine glass? Not a great choice was offered at all. Was sadly disappointed with the whole stay, not one to complain but paid a lot of money for this stay and it wasn’t worth it!

Since opening up after lockdown the staff are mostly new starts with little experience. I’m sure they will get better in time.

A beautiful hotel with reasonably priced high quality food and drinks. A refuge in an otherwise horrible city

Being treated like a queen 😁. A fabulous place to go and relax

Excellent stay. Staff friendly and polite. Hotel very clean.

We booked a suite for a special occasion and because of the price we expected better than average service. Unfortunately we didn't get it. We didn't have a terrible stay, but I couldn't recommend this hotel as anything more than average.
Things that weren't good:
- We reserved a table at the bar for early evening drinks. Another party sat at our table and rather than ask them to move we were offered an inferior table.
- We were brought two rounds of drinks within 10 mins of each other despite ordering 1 round. We felt obliged to take the second round even though it wasn't what we wanted.
- There was no hot water in our room on the morning of our departure. We were offered the use of another room on a different floor but I don't think this is acceptable.
- The breakfast was the worst we have experienced in any hotel stay in a long, long time. Very limited choice of fruit. Continental breakfast non existent. Fried food was overcooked, dry and unappetising.
- No newspaper offered and a selection of 2 available in the morning at reception. This isn't a major issue at all but I am merely stating this last point to highlight that overall the stay was at best average.
I don't think that's what this hotel aspires to but sadly if you're after luxury or something a bit better than ordinary then don't spend the extra money going here because it's just not worth it.

Had an overnight stay at the culloden estate and spa with my sister.. We both couldn't have faulted our stay in anyway.. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming.. Facilities were next to none.. Room was lovely with stunning views..

This hotel is everything you would expect when you want to stay in a castle! Absolutely fantastic way to finish our trip around Europe and Ireland, 3 nights in our Clock Suite was everything we hoped and more!
Incredibly beautiful from the second we drove through the Castle gates right through to our room. The Christmas decorations and trees everywhere were stunning and created such a festive feeling. The staff could not have been friendlier.
This is luxury!
I hope I'm lucky enough to return one day :)

Very enjoyable couple of days

Perfect from a lovely welcome at check-in to departure. Room gorgeous and bathroom bliss. All treatments amazing. So kind the staff. Love it here and just booked the Slieve in Newcastle.

What a great place to enjoy, relax and just take in the beauty of the grounds and the views it holds. Excellent staff, easy access to downtown Belfast but a quiet retreat to some pampering

A really enjoyable night at your spa and hotel, but, the only let down was the breakfast, it was very disappointing for the price at £18 per person, this was a special birthday treat for my girlfriend but the breakfast spoilt what was an otherwise lovely stay. The potato bread was over done, soda bread was hard, we were asked if we would like tea with our breakfast, we said yes, it didn’t arrive, we had to ask a second time. For the star rating of this hotel it was a very big let down. I don’t think it would deter me from staying again but would hope that things would have improved, thank you, Glen and Laura

The air conditioning fan was on all night and we were unable to turn it off. I reported it to the night receptionist who told me it would take 20 minutes to stop. I told him it had been longer than 20 minutes. He said he would report it to the night porter who would call on us. This was at 2am at 3 am there was still no sign of the night porter. The fan switched off at 6am. It was so loud, that it was difficult to sleep. I also reported it to the day receptionist who said that they will make a note of it and look into it. I am sad to report that the dismissive nature of the staff is my lasting impression and I would not pay to stay here again.

Turned up in person to an empty hotel. They offered us a very expensive rate so we went to the car and booked with Expedia and saved £30 with an upgraded room. No breakfast though. The room was boiling when we went in so we turned down the radiator but it just got hotter and hotter. We informed reception before we went out for a lovely walk in Helens Bay. When we got back they had just opened the windows! As the hotel is by a busy road the noise was intolerable. We told them again and got moved to a nearby suite. This was freezing. However the quilts on the beds are about 50 tog so I spent the night battling with it sweating or shivering. Not sure I would want to stay here again.

Fantastic hotel. Great location and beautiful room. Can't wait to go back.

Although this hotel was run like clockwork and had everything you could ask for, I was never at all uncomfortable (some 5 stars act as if there is some hidden code you do not understand!). Everyone was friendly and efficient. I think if I had asked for something obscure they would have just smiled and produced it! The food was great, the staff were always helpful, the grounds were immaculate, the spar was calm and relaxing and the atmosphere was friendly but reliable.

We stayed for two nights and ate in both restaurants. The hotel is very nice, in a conservative, 'stately home' sort of way: our room was quite plain but very comfortable (especially the bed) and the bathroom was surprisingly large too.
We had dinner in both restaurants, the Cultra Inn and Mitre, although we missed breakfast. The food was very good in both cases, obviously it's a lot more special (and expensive) in Mitre because it's a fine dining place but you'll eat well in either of them. We got a bottle of wine that was off but it was replaced immediately with no discussion; the staff in the restaurants and the hotel were very good. My wife also had a spa treatment and said it was very good, although you should book in advance because they had almost no time slots available.
The only negative points I could make are very minor and didn't bother us at all. The Wifi isn't free, although it is in many other (and cheaper) hotels, and genuinely five-star hotels don't let their staff carry trash and supplies through public areas of the building. And good bar staff don't bring you a martini with a cocktail umbrella in it, although that could be a matter of taste :-)
All in all it's a very nice place for a weekend away, especially if you plan on being lazy and pampering yourself.

We stayed 5 nights, our room was never cleaned adequately, bed was never made up properly and clean sheets not provided, every day things were missed such as towels, loo rolls etc. Some room lights did not work. The carpet was never vacuumed. The room was made up after 4pm every day which was too late. It was only when we complained on the last day that things got sorted. It should not be necessary to have to complain at a 5 star hotel; these simple details should be part of the service.
