Charming old hotel, very dated, loud street front.

Comfortable, but very old and iver priced

Conveniently located in the downtown area. It is a hotel with a history, so a little tired in spots, but very friendly staff and a clean environment. It was just a one night stopover before getting on a boat.

Forgot the door code to the front door, and the doorman turned around, sat on his phone, and pretended he didn’t see me knocking for ten minutes, as though he would leave me out to sleep on the street. The staff were incredibly rude.

Quaint historic hotel in the heart of downtown. Clean and comfortable rooms. Staff is very helpful.

We had a great time and enjoyed the friendly staff. No elevator could be difficult. Bathrooms were clean and upgraded..enjoyed the area very much.

location is good. Building is old and window outside is wall.

STILL NEEDS AN ELEVATOR

Nice historic hotel. Great location and walkable to lots of shops, restaurants and bars. There is no elevator so have to pack your luggage up and down stairs, there is no AC so it can get really warm, very noisy with windows open of people out in the street coming out of the bars, and the cruise ships docking or leaving port.

Stayed one night left early next morning, check in was supwr easy and fast.

when it is very hot outside, you need to have the windows open, and then you get to listen to the late night bars
It does stay relatively cool, except when temperatures are extra high for Ketchikan

This hotel is next to a restaurant which seems to vent their frying grease directly into the building. The entire hotel reeks of fryer grease and the downstairs/landing carpet is extremely greasy since restaurant employees walk through the tiny lobby. We were given a room right next to the hotel room keeping laundry, so we had a tremendous amount of noise for at least 12 hrs daily from washing, drying, beeping, employees yelling at each other. The hotel desk clerks are rarely at the front desk at night (they hang out on the street or in the restaurant). Our room also had a tiny window facing an interior ally area which was connected to the restaurant, so we got a lot of employee noise and banging around from that. There aren't many decent hotel options in Ketchikan, but if you have any other choices, don't stay at the Gilmore.

Very nice old fashioned hotel . Was warm in room with no air conditioning and no screens on windows . But overall nice and clean.

From the outside the hotel looks old and a little run down. But once you enter, its nice and clean and full of historic photos. Our room was nice and spacious and it seemed pretty clean (tho I didnt bring a blacklight flashlight to officially check). The TWO downsides are NO elevator (we were on the 3rd floor), and NO parking. There is a bell hop to help carry luggage to your room, and there is street parking as well as a lot across the road. It says 2 hr parking between 8am-5pm everywhere, but we left our car all day and didnt receive a ticket or anything. Overall we liked this hotel. Anthe at the front desk was sweet and helpful. There is always complementary water and coffee on the landing between the first and second floors. My husband and I especially enjoyed looking at all the old photos of Ketchikan! It also gave us a good rest in between floors.

It is an old hotel from 1927 so it has charm but also has piecemeal updates to bring it into the 21st century. It still has no elevator. Our biggest complaint was the lack of a place to hang things up. The hotel does provide free transport to and from the airport ferry. The ferry costs $6 per person one way.

The Gilmore is a classic! I was lucky to find it

This is a cute boutique hotel that is perfectly situated within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and downtown Ketchikan. Ketchikan is very small, so you walk everywhere. The bus stop is also right in front of the hotel, and a restaurant is attached. There is also a coffee and tea service at the hotel.
The attached restaurant is wonderful and has a good bar. We would highly recommend the Gilmore for its location, charm, and convenience. It is not overly fancy, which makes it all the more charming.

We really enjoyed staying at the Gilmore! Our room was comfortable and we loved being able to watch from our window the cruise ships come and go. The staff went above and beyond to help us stay a bit longer when our flight was cancelled.

The hotel staff were great, especially Anthe! Our third floor room offered a comfortable bed, clean room, windows overlooking the bay and July 4th parade route. Loved the historical building and neighboring area.

Old and musty. Room was dusty and pee on the walls in the bathroom.
Clean sheets and decent bed. Friendly lady at the front desk.

The hotel did not have an elevator but the staff offered to carry luggage to room.

Rooms are small, not much space to set things had to open suitcases on the bed. No elevator had to carry suitcases up flights of stairs. Restrant didn't open until late morning, no breakfast. Hard to believe this was a Wyndham property.

Rooms were small no place to set things had to open suitcases on the bed. No elevator had to carry suitcases up flights of stairs. Restaurant didn't open until mid-morning on breakfast. Had to rely on cab service to and from ferry (hotel did pay) just a lot of stand around time. Hard to believe it was a Wyndham property.

Great staff- great location

Stayed there to catch cruise ship. Our room was not at all what was pictured. Very small, no fridge, could hear everything in room next door and we woke up to a big leak in the ceiling that looked like it was about to drop. They did comp us for one night and our cruise ship docked right across the street that made it easy to get to. But taking that into consideration would have booked somewhere else.

Above and Beyond Arrangements, Very clean and Comfortable, Historic Charm, Extraordinary Staff , Close Entertainment and Quality Dining .A Must Stay!

The Gilmore Hotel is a landmark hotel which means it is old. If you are not prepared to accept this includes the use of stairs as no elevator is in the building, there is no central air and parking is on the street then looks elsewhere. Otherwise enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere of this small, clean and cosey hotel. Call ahead and the front desk will advise you on parking or arrange for pick up at the airport.

Due to a change in our vacation we booked our stay last minute through the Expedia app which I rarely ever do but due to poor cell service in the area and the fact that Expedia said they had 6 rooms available I figured it would be safe and convenient to book through the app. . Long story short we showed up to check into our room and they had no rooms for us. My advice is don’t rely on the hotels communication with Expedia. The Gilmore did in fact have 6 rooms available but they were down for cleaning. Lesson learned Always call the hotel directly especially when booking last minute. We were fortunate there was another hotel that had a room available as we wouldn’t have had a place to stay for the night.

Great older hotel! Rooms and bathroom are a bit smaller, but you’re in a prime location downtown.

Highly recommend

Good clean room kinda noisy with a room on the Main Street.

No air conditioning in the room. Usually that shouldn't matter in Alaska but we stayed during a warm day and night and opening the windows did not change the boiling temperature in the room. At least a fan would have helped but no airflow.

Perfectly centered on the city, many amenities and kind people. Very satisfied, thanks !!!
