Beautiful old hotel, nice bar & restaurant areas, open fires, service good. Only negative was the bed, very old, soft & lumpy.

Check in was a quick and easy. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. The room that we stayed in was beautiful. Very specious , comfortable and clean. Only negative was 2 single gins and tonic was quite pricey at just under £18

Beautiful, clean hotel. Breakfast was amazing. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely sized room but too hot. No heating on. Had to ask for fans to cool down - window didn't open much.
Bathroom small but shower was excellent - water pressure and temperature perfect.
Dining room for breakfast worked well - food ok
Parking challenging - we went to meet friends and there was only 1 slot left when we returned. We had already paid our £10 to park..

Room was clean but could do with a refurbishment.Dining room was pleasant and staff helpful. Food at breakfast was well cooked lots of choices.
Could do with more than one lift.
Bed cover and quilt were in poor condition, holes in them.

Great location for visiting Harrogate . Room was very big , great bathroom . Bed was a bit hard with some deep dips in .

It's old fashioned, playing on the Agatha Christie link, but non the less very comfortable and clean. Lovely bathroom, if a little tight but big bath and fantastic shower.
Only slight disappointment was that staff at breakfast were busy cleaning and i had to grab 2 to get a coffee. The first acknowledged my request but brought nothing. The second did bring it. Breakfast was otherwise very good.

Really great location and a friendly hotel!

It was very pretty and a good size room.
Was disappointed that I wasn’t advised that booking for dinner was required when I booked as when we arrived could only eat in the bar and the menus there was uninspiring

Nice hotel in a great location for the restaurant I had booked. Good breakfast selection. Nice and peaceful even though they had a wedding on there was no disturbance. Would stay again

Very nice hotel, room was very clean and so was the bathroom, had everything you'd need. Breakfast was nice and had plenty of choice. Great location to walk into town and grab something to eat.

Tired decor and hot breakfast been there a while so a bit congealed

Lovely hotel with a lot of original features. Great quiet location but near enough to town and bars and restaurants too. Gardens were well kept. The staff were very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay.

Fabulous stay, beautiful quintessential English hotel full of wonderful charm and character. Excellent position for Valley gardens and town centre- no better place!

We thought the room needed upgrading, very humid, not enough plugs in the room, breakfast excellent, staff friendly

We felt the food was of a poor standard .

The location was very good, handy for the park the shopping area was up a hill which maybe a challenge for anybody with mobility issues, but then again Harrogate is hilly to start with.
The room was a small double with narrow access to the bathroom (not much room between bath and toilet and small vanity size wash basin) but having stayed there before not all rooms are that small. I think it was classed as a small double on the booking???
Good selection of food served at breakfast and reasonable prices in the restaurant/bar.

We had a great time in The Old Swan Hotel.
Our room was large and comfortable. Not a great view, but wasn’t too worried about that. The shower was simple to use and excellent. There were nice large white bath towels and very good in room tea facilities.
The staff were very friendly and ready to help. We had an evening meal there as well as breakfast. The food was good on both occasions.
The hotel is steeped in history and of course where they found Agatha Christie in 1926. I loved the decor of the hotel and the quirkiness of the original lifts.
The hotel is situated away from the main area which makes it quiet and peaceful.
We will certainly stay there again in the future.

Excellent location and very comfortable stay.

Hotel nice, a bit dated in my opinion but think thats part of its oldy worldy charm. Rooms despite comfy a tad small and coukd hear some noise from other rooms (plumbing etc).

Stayed at the Old Swan for one night. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Went to the bar to get a hot chocolate at 9pm only to be told the machines were switched off so i could only get and instant chocolate made with hot water, which was disappointing.
Communal areas in the hotel are nice, but the rooms feel a little dated. Floorboards were incredibly noisy and every time i sat on the bed and leant against the headboard, the bed started to slide away from the wall.

The hotel was friendly and clean, but it felt outdated (I don’t mean historically as it has some lovely features), it needed a bit of love putting back in. The room was only prepared for 1 (there was 2 of us) and breakfast was, well let’s just say I’ve never had tough eggs before.

Still a grand style hotel from a bygone time. Last visited over 40 years ago and still as beautiful as ever. Loved our stay there and will be back.

Lovely hotel. Loved original design and features. Room was spacious and warm. Friendly staff and breakfast on the morning was great. Only issue no ev parking which we would’ve liked, also its £10 to park your car which wasn’t mentioned when we booked. Overall nice hotel and would definitely recommend and visit again
