From the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. Quick and efficient check-in, friendly staff to help with our bags and valet parking. The room was luxurious, the breakfast each morning was delicious, and the Noche de Nostalgia dinner and dance was one of the most fun evenings we've had on our trip. Highly recommend this hotel if your travels take you to Punta del Este!

The staff were amazing!

The rooms at the tower are like in a fairy tale, but are very small. The garden is beautiful.

This is such a beautiful, classic hotel. Nothing canned, very authentic to Uruguay. I can't recommend it highly enough.

An absolute delight! This historical boutique hotel packs all the magic. Slow down and enjoy a merienda in the beautiful Tea Room with their famous waffles, take a walk around the meticulously kept garden filled with flora and fauna during the day or night, relax in the many comfy spots with fresh flowers and fireplace.
Our room was in the tower with an ocean view, being in the tower meant the room was smaller, nonetheless, it was comfortable with a great bed and had a very deep bathroom. The tower made it an unique and unforgettable experience. You can also get larger rooms next to the garden. There is really no wrong choices here.
Breakfast is served in the Tea Room. Plenty of delicious options and freshly cooked eggs any style per your request. If you are looking for a breakfast place in Punta del Este area, you might as well start the day here because it is fresh and delicious.

without a doubt one of the best places i have stayed in the world!

There is no parking, the receptionist is useless, there was no lift to my room, the safe didn’t work, the lightbulbs were only 5 watts, so you couldn’t read, the bathroom was dirty, the sanitary appliances lacked maintenance, the carpet hadn’t been washed since Uruguay gained its independence, pillows were too hard, water feature in the garden was on all night ( ?) The vacuum cleaner was parked outside our room ( was it a hint?) there was no room number on our door, ( yes I did go into the wrong room, and there was someone in there) No wifi in some common areas. Although the hotel was open throughout the lockdown it was unkempt, paint chipping off the walls etc. This was probably the most elegant hotel in Punta del Este, which is the most elegant town in Uruguay, no more.
Beware trying to park in the summer season, and don’t pay more than U$D120

Good place to be, cost benefit ok, good restaurant and waffles. Conservation of facilities could be better like pool and gym. Service good.

We asked to change rooms because the first one was too small, and the staff was very accommodating and showed us option and were able to move us to a bigger room. The staff throughout was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, the lunch as well by the pool. The rooms are old but they are charming.

Splendid garden providing chilling moment
very nice surrounding close but outside busy city centre

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It is beautiful, charming and the team is fantastic! You saw the same friendly faces every day. The property is gorgeous, the rooms are unique. I doubt there is another comparable hotel anywhere in Punta del Este. Nothing like the modern glass buildings that line the beachfront - this is old world European charm. And don’t miss the waffles!

Fantastic hotel. Attention to detail everywhere. Beautiful gardens. Great quiet location

Very clean, excellent service, nice fireplace and breakfast. Checking inn was a bit confusing as the front desk didn't receive any input from Expedia, but that was not their fault.

I felt like I was in the middle of a European retreat vast property with immaculately trimmed lawns and gardens.

l'Auberge is turning 70 years young this year! Certainly most confortable place to stay, in Punta del Este area! A hotel that suites for summuer, for being close enogh to the Atlantic ocean, besides offering a nice pool amidst a gorgeous garden! and or winter, for its rooms, living rooms and so. The staff crowns it all...!

What a wonderful place! The staff is ridiculously courteous and helpful. Lovely sitting room. Breakfast includes homemade cheesy scones (which are sometimes hot out of the oven). I watched both the sunrise and the sunset from my room. So much to love!

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and good food. Wi-fi worked best out on the terrace, but was available in room too. Beautiful property. Would be nice to have additional lighter, appetizer type items available on the dinner menu.

Beautiful property in a posh residential neighborhood several km. outside of town. You really need a car if you stay there, but the food and service was outstanding.

Great peaceful place, a classic of Punta del Este. Well kept and refurbished, although better connectivity and some technology would not be a bad idea.

very nice stay in old water tower. Great neighbourhood but quite far from punta del este

If you plan to arrive at this hotel for the first time at night I recommend that you have a car with GPS. iPhone maps didn't cover the area and the turnoff from the main road was hard to find. It seemed as though I was staying in a small town in Southern France. The grounds are well landscaped and spectacular. I liked the hospitality of the staff, especially those in the restaurant. Loved their food and wine. One shortcoming was a relative lack of electrical outlets if you are a gadget freak like me.

If we could give this hotel a 10 we would. The grounds and the rooms are clearly lovingly maintained. The staff was phenomenal - always willing to help with dinner and other reservations and the epitome of service oriented. The rooms are so comfortable and lovely and the pool was wonderful. They even have beach chairs and umbrellas you can use so you don't have to rent them at the beach. We loved this hotel, loved walking around the neighborhood and loved the staff.

I have stayed in all the major big name hotels in Punta Del Este and with out a doubt, this one is by far the best. The setting is beautiful, walking distance to the beach and close enough to down town for easy access but also far enough away to not be bothered by the crowds. The food is outstanding, the pool and garden are beautiful and you may find that you spend much of your time in Punta in the hotel! We are a family with three kids, 4yr, 9yr & 14 and were all made to feel right at home. This will be where we will stay every time we return to Punta.

This hotel is quaint, unique and very comfortable. This is an older hotel which is very well maintained. There us a sitting room with a fireplace which is very comfortable and the gounds are nice. The restaurant is not very fancy but the food was excellent.

This hotel is beautiful. Service is excellent. Garden in the back is beautiful. Setting is very serene and relaxing. Surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous to take a walk in. Fairly conveniently located to get anywhere in the Punta del Este area fairly easily. Restaurant is a bit over priced--particularly the famous waffles.
