brill staff and food was nice ty

This hotel is really nice, clean, comfortable and in a good location for Stafford University.
We loved the pool as it was very clean and warm. The restaurant was nice, big portions ( we probably would prefer smaller portion and price but aren’t complaining). Breakfast was fab with everything you could ask for.
Only thing I would change is automatic gratuity- we aren’t in America and I will always remove and give direct to the staff.

We have stayed in this hotel a few times but for the first time we were on the side of the hotel that is nearest the M6. We loved this side because it caught the sun, you could barely see the motorway but the view was great. Overall, staff were very friendly. The only downside was the chaos at breakfast, where there were insufficient staff to make the breakfast experience pleasurable.
3.9
Very basic stay with my 4 year old , breakfast was lovely and lots of it to choose from , food was very basic from the restaurant part at night and not cheap to match the lack of quality either ! Room was nice, pretty clean just very dated , bathroom was very small , staff were very friendly and helpful
3.9
Overall Excellent, friendly staff and lovely breakfast. Very close to the motorway for easy access. Second time we have stayed and will stay again.
3.9
Room fine but cold. Window has a vent in that can't be closed and caused a draft. Electric heather provided which helped. Extractor fan in bathroom not working meaning room full of steam. Shower head rail broken. Hairdryer broken.
Some of the hotel smells damp.
Breakfast excellent, staff lovely

Had a good stay. Everything was very good except that the wifi wasn’t very good in the room. Great breakfast. Just be aware the are two holiday inns in the area.
3.9
We recieved a lovely welcome, the receptionist was helpful and warm. The room was very clean and spacious. We loved the gym and pool area, and the bar area was cool and again very clean. I really appreciated all the GF and vegan options ar breakfast. That was a real surprise, better than any chain hotel we have stayed at before. The receptionist in the gym was also really friendly and helpful.
3.9
Decent hotel for the price. Decebt gym and pool, they just need to sort out lockers.
Food was mid range and ok, bit fiddly irdering on the tablet. Stsy were very nice. Just a bit dated otherwise this should score higher. I would sty again.

I booked a room based on 1 adult and 1 child, and specifically booked a room with a sofa bed for my son to sleep on. On arrival the Sofa bed was not made up and upon opening it up there were no sheets or bedding available, due to a late arrival i didnt ask for this to be rectified, my son slept in the double bed with me.
At breakfast the next morning, there was a severe lack of staff. Tables were not cleared, no cutlery available, lack of replenishment of buffet food. And no visible staff available to ask for assistance. We paid extra to have breakfast added on, and was not worth the extra we paid, it would have been better to have gone elsewhere for a served breakfast and cheaper.

Lovely comfortable stay

Good stay staff were excellent, could hear the room next door due to the internal door.
3.9
There was an issue with the pool on day one, and out of use! Pool was being worked on early morning and was offered late checkout as pool was warming up. At least offered this.
3.9
Very small room, single duvet inside a double sheet, they don’t answer the phone on reception. The finish in the bathroom was poor, very small towels to shower with
Breakfast excellent- so much choice. Staff were great.
Bad nights sleep.
3.9
Only stayed one night and thought the location was very good. Only was the decoration in the room was looking a bit tired and needed updating
3.9
Lovely staff, amazing breakfast... The WiFi and reception of the hotel let's it down and the rooms could do with some tlc, the carpet was pulled up, the curtains were strained and the paint was peeling off, however it was clean and the bed was comfortable.
3.9
We enjoyed our stay very much room was excellent, we had evening meals and breakfast, all good, the property in places would need window replacement or a good cleaning and painting job
3.9
Called the number (as per email) to sort a late check in, was told after waiting twice for 15 mins that no-one was answering to arrange it so had to change plans to go to the hotel to book in.
No issues once at the hotel, just annoying you are offered a service that isn’t possible..

Always helps when staff are friendly and welcoming

Convenient location,
Good facilities & food.
Air con not working, road & car park needs repair.
3.9
The hotel its self was great. Staff were lovely, really helpful and friendly but the room was terrible.
The air con didn't work and there was a small fan in the room as a replacement.
It was so hot in the room I don't think we got a sold couple of hours between us.
It actually made our 8 year old feel a bit poorly. As we stayed the 1 night we just thought we'd put up with it as we were planning to have an early start the next day.
The bathroom door didn't close properly and the bottom of the door was all peeled off paint.
It just felt a bit scruffy and dated and not what we expected.
I did complain in the morning but just got a standard 'sorry about that' apology which again was a bit disappointing

The property is looking a bit tired and the pot holes in the entrance are quite frankly dangerous

Stayed here to break my long journey from Cumbria to Devon. Good job I did as it took over 4 hours to get there from Penrith.
Am sure there were less road works in the stone age!!
Moment I got there exhausted, the staff were amazingly helpful and kind. I felt at home in a strange hotel i had never stayed at before! Spent the whole weekend there.
Breakfasts were excellent.
Spent most of my time in the pool and spa, both exercising and relaxing....lovely!!
3.9
It was ok bit dated.

Good room in a hotel showing its age. Friendly staff and good breakfast.

It is a Holiday Inn - The brand value of Holiday Inn must be along the lines of "mediocrity is not bad" - boring menu, now done through silly little computer tablets. The staff member showed me to a table and then went off to get a "menu" and didn't return for 10 minutes, which was annoying. A simple steak took around 25 minutes to come from the kitchen, and then they initially forgot my side salad. The place is clean enough, comfortable enough and practical enough, but that is it. limited TV channels, no option to cast to the TV, noisy aircon fans, tepid shower. Just all a bit "that'll do" and not enough "that's good"

This hotel is conveniently situated right next to the M6. It has free parking and free (unsecured) WiFi. Check in was quick, welcoming and friendly. There is no lift and very long corridoors, this was a bit of a problem for us as we have resticted mobility. Our room was spacious and very clean with a good bathroom. There was a walk in shower, but it was quite a step up with no grab rail, so again if you have mobility issues, this may be a problem. The bed was comfy and the room was quiet. The TV was very oddly programmed and took a while to master. The bar and lounge area was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Lots of hot and cold choices available and Alex served, assisted and cleared very efficiently. We were particulary impressed with the breakfast. All in all a good stay and we would return.

Although the building itself looked quite old the fixtures, fittings and design were contemporary and new. The hotel and room were clean and tidy. The shower and provided products were great. The bathroom design also looked quite new. The room was quiet and included buffet breakfast very tasty.
3.9
1 plug socket broken at desk and fan in bathroom not working though minor things. The cooked breakfast was cold.
Everything else was great . The staff were helpful and the cleanliness was good
3.9
Clean and comfortable hotel, friendly staff and good food in the restaurant.
3.9
Room and bed were comfortable with 4 pillows which is great for me. Hot water in the morning, 6:30, took about 10 minutes to heat enough for a shave and shower. Breakfast was very good. Every Holiday Inn I’ve stayed in, the jacuzzi has been out of action, one of the reason I pick a hotel, need a jacuzzi for my legs. Hotel was showing signs of it age, flaking paint, cracks in walls, tiles in reception area cracked and broken and some damp areas.
3.9
Air conditioning wasn’t working and radiator was on when arrived so very hard to cool room down.
My other half not happy price of chocolate at £1.50 per bar totally overpriced
Phone didn’t work so when asked to call pool to book we couldn’t do it
3.9
Staff and facilities excellent. Food could be much improved, hence 4 star rather than 5.
3.9
We loved our stay. The breakfast and the staff were phenomenal. The hotel lacks an elevator and our room was quite a distance to get to in the very back of the hotel, but these are the only negatives, otherwise the place is very nice.

Booked into this hotel well my wife needed to be close while I had an operation in Royal Stoke hospital.
Add a number of setbacks with timing and the staff here were excellent at rearranging nights
I couldn't compliment them more on how they looked after my wife while I was in hospital. Even to the extent that after the event when my son had accidentally parked his car in the car park not knowing that he needed to register it they were good enough to resind the parking fine. Even on the day that I left hospital they let my wife come back and have a breakfast which she had missed earlier in the day

Stayed here for 1 night , easy free parking on arrival. Plenty of spaces. Receptionist very friendly. We used the park outside for the kids to wear off some energy after a long drive. Swimming and leisure facilities free to use with towels upto 9pm. We also used this facility. The changing rooms where tired, lockers didnt work and having some work been completed but they were clean.
The room was fine what we needed. Bed very comfy, and the pillows too. Bathroom was small but refurbished and very clean. Free amenities if needed. The carpet was abit dated/ old but clean.
We ate dinner and breakfast. Food was superb big portions, plenty of choice. Bartenders and waiters very friendly.
Considering it was next to the motorway the room was quiet and the dining areas had lovely views. Would definitely stay here again for the price we paid it was brillaint .
