It was a good price but you pay for what you get for basically.

Hairball in the tub, dirty hallways, iron but ironing board. Super sketchy neighbourhood. The staff was friendly.

Could sit on the toilet it was half an inch from a wall. The whole room needs revamping.

It was a terrible experience. I never ever leave a bad review before and this is the first one ever. The elevator had made a loud noise all night. The room had a bad smell and the bathroom had not been cleaned property. There was hair on the toilet seat and in the bathtub. There were some morons playing very loud music around 9pm. Worst experience ever. Please for god sake do not stay at this hotel.

There were homeless people outside my window all night, I didn’t sleep at all. Plus the elevator made noise all night. The hotel is nice and the staff but I would never stay there again. Still haven’t received my deposit back and it’s been 48hrs

i really appreciated the staff kindness and hospitality!
they were very informative and helpful.

Having read conflicting reviews I decided to stay there for location to the metro and price.
The room and bathroom are compact, large shower, both were clean.
Good bed and bed sheets.
Coffee in the lobby sometimes sugar no creamer so if you don't want black coffee !
The floor creakes.
The alleyway on the side of the building seems an attraction for drunks yelling in the night.
All in the property has been updated and certainly not an unpleasant place to stay.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

I reserved a deluxe (what a joke) room with a queen size bed. The room was dirty and very small with no place to circulate..bathroom door was always in the way. The cheapest furniture that looks like it was bought at a garage sale. My room was on the second floor directly in front of the stairwell door...I heard noise constantly (morning & night) since people used the stairs instead of elevators...I requested a new room after my first night and this never happened. I decided to check out early since the room was so depressing and affected my mental health. At night you could hear the street people screaming from Ste-Catherine...this was the worst hotel experience I ever had. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

- Needed to register the room key to gain access to hotel main gate everyday
- Toilet was very close to the wall. No room for my legs
- Never cleaned my room for 5 days
- No elevator to 4th floor

Uncomfortable bed mattress

The room itself has a decent A/C and that’s about it. Expect to find hairs on the bathroom towels. There’s zero amenities unless you include the coffee that’s free. The management made a mistake and caused me to make a double booking, then made me resolve the issue myself. When needing to extend that same day, an extra day was added due to dealing with errors they make. When I ask to change the checkout date by ONE day and refund the money paid, they didn’t accept and Expedia can’t do much about it. Management takes no responsibility to fix their issues or make amendments after causing issues.

Very friendly staff and clean rooms. Only thing was A/C didn’t work in one room.

We booked this hotel at the last minute after our airbnb got cancelled. The hotel rooms look like they were renovated, same as the bathrooms. I believe the staff should pay more attention to the housekeeping of the rooms before a new guest is checking in. There were some spots that definitely needed more cleaning, specially in the bathroom. The room was ok, my only complain is that it didn’t have a curtain or a blackout blind that could darken the room at night or at sunrise. Relying only in a standard blind doesn’t darken the room enough to have a good sleep. The location is walkable with plenty of dining options, metro station. the staff was friendly

I get there and the person (looks like the owner) said to me Expedia has a crashed so they were not able to see my reservation besides they didn’t have any room available. Another family from Australia were suffering the same issue. Honestly you should remove this hotel from your suggestions

I made the reservation amd everything was A-ok. I arrived at the hotel a little early...since my bus was early in all honesty. So I arrved to the hotel to be told I had no reservation, when my card had already been charged, this, might I add ruined my complete faith in the third party reservation system. I will NEVER be using EXpedia again as did NEVER.

I still have not recieved my deposit of $150 back onto my credit card. They said that I would recieve it in 24 to 48 hours on the day I left. It is 5 days later and still no refund of my deposit. did not damage anything there so I expect my full refund. I hope they will be honest and give me back my $150.00!

no water available in the rooms, you have to grab paper cups and fill them yourself to bring them back to your room. the shower handle fell off when we tried using it, the bottom of the bath was scratched and dirty. we were freezing and i mean FREEZING (the thermostat said it was heating at 29.5 celsius but the temperature in the room was 17.!!!) the walls are paperthin. while in the bathroom we could hear the conversation in the next room word for word. overall very unpleasant stay. i have to say though that the staff is friendly.

Finding parking is very complicated, plus you have to pay $24 per night to leave it safe. The cleaning lady is very rude. It is also located in an unsafe area. Walking out at night is unsafe due to the number of people in the area. street situation, which are aggressive

People running the hotel are lovely but the rooms are terrible. They are too small and the layout is bad. The foot of the bed in both rooms we tried was too close to the desk/console. Could barely get around and the chair was in the way. Makes walking to the bathroom in the night no fun. Seems like they put a bunch of money into bathroom renovations in the bath/shower but the towel rack on the door was coming off and hanging from the screws. And no door on the shower made the floor soaking. You can do better at the same price in the area.

There was a hole in the bathroom and, the wall on the closet was broken. Additionally, it was pretty dust out side.

The hotel has been nicely renovated recently. We used to enjoy a personalized room service breakfast. Sadly now it's just a help yourself affair in the lobby with no staff oversight. Everyone handles the same jar of peanut butter, the same stick of butter.and the same loaf of bread. A great way to spread a virus! Our room was not cleaned on a two night stay and the bathtub had not been cleaned ever. A great location near a metro station.and the gay village. But not for the faint of heart. This neighborhood is plagued homelessness with mental health patients who are left to wander the streets under Canada's so called health care system. We never felt unsafe however.

Reviewing this hotel leaves me feeling very torn. There are a lot of things going for it, but at the same time there are a lot of things going against it.
The good: Location is super convenient to metro and the village, room is quite spacious, bed is comfortable, AC works very well, 3-stage shower (handheld, back massage, rainfall) is amazing, recently renovated room.
The bad: In-room fridge didn't work, bathroom fan didn't work, renovation seems not quite finished (painting not finished, pipes exposed in bathroom), great closet but only 2 hangers, blind doesn't block outside light completely, extremely thin walls (could hear guests next door snore / having sex), no housekeeping service offered over a 13-night stay.
Overall this was an ok stay in a hotel that has a lot of potential to become a very nice boutique hotel. Perhaps when they finally get everything sorted out it will get there, but for now be prepared to feel like there's just something missing at every turn.

Nicely renovated, and helpful staff, who moved me into another room when my first one was too noisy. Breakfast facilities in the lobby are minimal and do not include seating, but Cafe Lulu, about a three minute walk away on San Catherine, is a great place for breakfast.

Good for just a sleep at night - rooms are VERY small.

Funky neighborhood, but I still felt safe. Thanks to Khadijea and Khaled for all their help. They made me feel welcome!

It was ok . I was just disappointed about the breakfast. The choices are poor, the lady who was responsible if serving didn't know how to use the coffee maker. The wait was long so I had to go eat outside . I stayed for 2 nights and didn't had the chance to have my breakfast from the hotel.

After staying there once (or more) every year for 20 years, I think it's time to move on. They renovated (and the lobby looks great), but the important things have gone backwards. No more breakfast. No more parking. No weekend maid service. More than double the price for less. I paid the highest rate for a double room, and we got what felt like two caskets in a closet. Temp was either furnace or icebox - no in between, and they couldn't fix it. On top of all that, their previous manager left. Without Roger, and without the place having anything going for it any longer (other than location), my loyalty is gone. It's sadly time to look elsewhere.

Renewed property. I liked the bed and pillows. It was not clean, it had a little of dust in the room and bathroom
3.5
Cheapest in the area for a reason! Super dirty. Not even a coffee machine in the room. Nothing is vacuumed or wiped down. I picked a booger off my bed. My toilet paper was running out when I checked in, instead of getting a new roll like most hotels do. Washroom has lots of stains and mold marks everywhere. I went to the store to buy shampoo because the shampoo is basically water. At least the rooms were not stinky. Walls are paper thin, I can hear the person in the next room shuffling in their bed. And forget staying asleep if someone is leaving because every foot step will make the floor and walls shake. The bed and pillows are so worn in and super lumpy. The best part of the room is the closet because it has a light in it and seemed like the only thing without dirty marks on it? The AC is not that strong as well. I used a hair tie to tie my curtain shade to the chair or else it would not stay closed. (Also numerous dead bugs on the curtain shade) I am sorry even though it is cheaper than places in the area, I might have to switch back to airbnb for montreal because this hotel was pretty bad. Even though a hotel is two stars, it should still have some basic things that normal hotels provide. There are crackheads usually outside the hotel but they keep to themselves. Nice shop options in the area. I liked CafeLouLou that was nearby. Will not be back to this hotel. The staff were pretty friendly at least.
3.5
The area was so unsafe and dirty also the parking situation was nit convenient.
The lobby stunk and the room was so dirty, the sheets and the surfaces had so many dirty spots.
The shower drain was full of hair and the staff did not do anything about it even though we complained about it.

We wanted to do some touring around the Port and Old Montreal for the weekend. The location was within walking distance to the sites that we were interested in seeing. This is a no frills hotel, the rooms are tiny but clean, although the hallways could of used a bit of maintenance. Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator stops on the 3rd floor so we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. We requested an extra pillow but unfortunately there were no extras. It did satisfy the basics of what we were looking for which was a place to sleep and shower.

Very convenient place
