It is a very old property. It has world's one of the oldest working elevator. Property location is very convenient but the interior is pretty old.

Beautiful building across the Hbf, with an old and interesting lift. The rooms were beautiful with comfy bedding. Nice restaurants. Staff kind and helpful.

Great service and attitude of the staff. The beds are a bit old and way too soft to rest. The location is great.

Hotel was nice and clean. The only downside was the trams outside were noisy and kept going all night

Staff was very friendly except one person during check-in. Room was smaller than it looked like in the pictures, and the interior has a very old-fashioned touch. The bathroom was very small. Breakfast and the breakfast staff were great, though. Appreciated the efforts with environment friendly ammenities. We will probably look for a hotel with more value for the price next time.

Great historic hotel, conveniently located next to the train station and the zoo. You can easy walk the city from here. An upgrade to a suite is worth it if you like more space and an updated feel. This was our second time staying at the hotel and we'll use it again the next time we are in Karlsruhe.

The Hotel is located centrally very nice and good layout. The breakfast was amazing. they also gave free fruit and champagne for my birthday and anniversary which was nice. The only thing was finding beetles in my room. When i complained they did nothing but give a 10 euro discount on dinner if we ate at restaurant which we didnt and never used the coupon i was disappointed they didnt do more or give discount on room.

I stayed here unexpectedly as I missed my connecting train. The re really is nothing to complain about except that there was a strange smell in the room when I arrived (nothing an open window couldn’t fix). The included breakfast was excellent. Staff were great. Proximity to the train station extra bonus.

Beautiful building, dating back quite some time - with high sealings and decent size rooms.
Sadly however, the atmosphere is very strait-laced and about as relaxed as a Victorian upper lip.
You could hear a pin drop in the Grossherzog breakfast hall.
Move your chair and get a stern look for cracking the silence.
Your choice...but I'll avoid this one in future.

Hotel very comfortable and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Slightly disappointed no restaurant or bar on Sunday evening when we arrived. However facilities available nearby. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced.

A few hundred yards across from the railway station this is an elegant hotel that was, perhaps, somewhat grander in the past. The staff are friendly but one young man seemed not to know the city well and was wearing his mask around his chin! Pleasant, varied breakfast. The rooms are compact and the bathrooms (mine at least) a little too compact. Getting in and out of the shower is not easy for an elderly guest.

The location of this hotel is brilliant for Railway Train passengers. Staff very friendly and helpful, was surprisingly quiet at night and the hotel is in excellent condition and beautiful interiors with tall ceilings and large ornate windows. Also and still rare for Europe, an excellent air conditioning system in the guestroom that actually does make it cool. So this hotel will be fine even during the summer months. The restaurant is closed this year due to the pandemic, only breakfast or minibar is currently possible when it comes to guest food. I decided for an upgraded Zoo side room away from the tram traffic, and expected at this level of hotel the room to have a personal safe and a guest kettle for making hot drinks. Neither were included. In fairness, the hotel did provide me hot water units whenever requested. But the lack of certain amenities (extra towel and extra pillow had to be requested), the no personal room safe box issue (other than in the top level suites) remained a major nuisance for an otherwise excellent establishment.

Very difficult to reach, due to road construction around.

Location, location, location. But not only it is a great location literally next to the main train station (Karlsruhe Main), but next to the city zoo and may places that make up for nice long walks.

Decent hotel very conveniently located next to the station. Big clean rooms with working amenities. A bit of a vintage atmosphere. Somewhere between business and luxury

I stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. The room was bigger than expected (in Europe), and very modern. The staff was amazing! The front dest staff printed directions to a place that my GPS couldn't find, and when the restaurant was packed for dinner (it happened to be Valentine's day, I was alone and didn't think to book a reservation), the man at the front kept calling until he found me a spot! I didn't even ask him to do that. The breakfast was really good! The eggs were amazing! There was so much to pick from! The options were endless. The parking can be tricky because the hotel only has about 30 or so spots in the front. If it's full, you have to look for street parking. Fortunately, even with a massive art fair in town, I always managed to find a spot there! The shower in my room kept rapidly changing the temperature of the water, which was kind of annoying. The hotel is beautiful except for the hanging lights on the stairwells. They look like they are from 1940s and stand out terribly. Overall, I would absolutely stay here again! I love this hotel.

A bit like stepping back in time, a time when service was conducted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. What a wonderful breakfast. A vast array of fresh and tasty food, every table with it’s very own coffee pot - what more would you ask for.Thank you Schloss Hotel Karlsruhe.

I was not at all happy staying at Schlosshotel Karlsruhe. - Internet provided is 1Mbps, which is not sufficiently fast for anything in 2019.- The gym provided is a disgrace; they are providing 3(!) machines that look like they are from the 1980s, one of them is even out of order.- Breakfast is about the worse in got in a 4* hotel for a long time. Not visiting again when Ill be back in Karlsruhe

Good location for a stop over. Upon arrival, reception staff member was on the phone - this took a while- with no recognition and the queue built. The room was good- but the air-con was leaking with a constant drip, soaking the carpet. Upon reporting this, the staff member wasn’t interested. Had drinks at the bar, service ok, but then had to find a staff member to pay. Mixed bag overall.
