There was no hot water for several hours and there were some small insects in the bed and in the sink.

Great hotel but nothing to do in the area.

I can highly recommend the hotel. The room was in the attic and was very warm because the air conditioning was not turned on beforehand. Since we arrived late, it would have been nice to get into a temperature-controlled room. That's just one small think. everything else was great.

Excellent hotel. The two young waiters in the restaurant couldn’t do enough to help us and were so friendly. The reception staff we professional and helpful. A great outside area to see and relax! Highly recommend.

Close to motorway, but very quiet - decent restaurant

Lovely hotel

Stylish and spotless, very helpful staff (staff cover reception and the restaurants), standard continental breakfast buffet plus bacon and egg.
Very comfy room, consistent high-speed wifi and good lunch and dinner options and service in the main restaurant. I didn’t try the YUME sushi restaurant.
A really relaxing weekend stay for the Zuiderpark parkrun, Hoogeveen with breakfast until 11 at weekends.

I was travelling so only needed a place to sleep. It was very comfortable and had free parking.

Arrived quite late at the hotel after a long drive from the uk. The man on reception was not very friendly, he did not tell us anything about the hotel. He did not even give us the wifi password. The same when checking out, the lady simply took the key card and said bye. So the service from the staff could have been better.
Extensive renovation work taking place in car park, which meant it was very sandy and dusty.
Hotel room was absolutely immaculate, spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed, nice coffee and quiet. We slept very well which was needed after a long drive.

I also liked the hotel very much that I was allowed to enter before 3 in the afternoon and I did not have to wait long to enter and relax in the large hotel bed, so comfortable and clean, it is in an environment around natural trees which you can Seeing the birds set and feed The attentive and decisive staff Definitely my experience was totally pleasant Thank you!

The Hotel Hoogeven is well run and clean. It is situated in a quiet residential area. The decor of the rooms is a bit dated but fine. The breakfast is not up to what you often get at hotels which is fine with me. I had dinner in the restaurant and that was really good. The little contact I had with staff indicates a friendly and helpful attitude.
Overall good quality without luxury. Relative to the price it is a good deal.

Room was very outdated. The room was not clean. Do not try to spend more money on "standard" room instead of economy - both are the same. Wifi was great and free. Overall would recommend for 1 night stay if you need to, but for spending many days, next time I would search for something else.

bad smell in the total hotel, not clean bathroom, beds are ok, no air condition, staff are friendly
location near to the motorway, big parking place,

Stayed for one night. Hotel was clean as was room. Room was very small (twin bed). We stayed purely for somewhere to sleep, didn't have breakfast or venture out in the local area, and for us it was fine. Beds were comfortable and got a good nights sleep.

Adjacent to the A28 motorway it was convenience for a late-night arrival which drove my choice. The hotel shows signs of wear and my room was a bit on the small side. Breakfast was simply OK rather than good. On the positive side, excellent service and a good atmosphere in the restaurant with an eclectic mix of locals and travellers. Great free wifi throughout

If you want to stay in a bad designed, old motel, this is it!
Nothing to say about the regular rooms that is positive.
Because they are near the main hospital, they have one room for handicapped people.
It was not booked, so we were allowed to move to that room. This saved our four day stay there.
it's the ONLY room I would stay at this hotel!

A group of stayed here for the Dutch TT race in Assen and were too slow to book anything closer to the circuit, but this turned out to be great. The rooms are pretty basic, but really clean! Staff are friendly, and the food is good. A huge bonus to motorcycle riders - during our stay they accommodated all the motorcycles in a locked function room, so they were kept dry and safe overnight! Will definitely be coming back for next years race and staying here!

I stayed for two nights clean reasonably comfortable room with a good buffet breakfast and good food for lunch and dinner.
Quiet location with pleasant surroundings.
This is the only Hotel in Hoogeveen so they do not have any real competition.
All in all a fair price for fair accommodation.

This hotel is worth 30 euro per night, but don't pay more. It has had its best days and is now just conveniently located, but without any serious competition. The restaurant offers a choice of food from the 80ies, prepared without fantasy or care. On a Monday morning, the breakfast is composed of left-overs from the weekend. The room is ok for a night sleep. The bed is actually very good and comfortable.

A basic, but adequate hotel. Restaurant was very pleasant and food good but breakfast choice was limited. Good value. Easy to find - close to the motorway.
