This was our first time at a resort and we enjoyed our selves.

Wonderful relaxing vacation from the moment I arrived. At the front desk, friendly faces welcoming a solo traveler & very helpful. Dining room service, at the pool service & bar service was wonderful. Dont forget to TIP YOUR SERVERS. Clean rooms great air conditioning, great balcony views. Beautiful place, great value... was there before...will be back again. Was there offseason so overcrowding not an issue. Don't forget to tip your servers

It’s a great place because everything so close and convenient it is a place that I would be glad to return to so highly recommend it but most importantly it’s because of their wonderful staff especially a beautiful young lady named Brisa she went above and beyond in her service.

The check in and out proces its very slow extremely slow, rooms need to be a bit cleaner , snack bar and restaurants need to be improved

The property and room were kept clean and my room was stocked with towels and toilet paper daily. The mini fridge was also stocked daily with sodas, beer, and snacks. The main restaurant provided a daily delicious buffet that was kept clean and orderly. Service was exceptional. Please leave gratuity to service staff. They work very hard and that’s how they make a leaving.

Very clean beach

Resort is small but very comfortable. Rooms are great and housekeeping does a great job. The food in the buffet option is delicious but if you want to reserve at one of the other two restaurants you can. The beach area is small but perfect to lay and relax and get sun. The only recommendation I would give the property is to offer more entertainment in the form of music to dance to in the evenings. The other suggestion would be to have better air conditioning in the gym and add more space to work out. I would consider to stay here again.

This resort is VERY noisy. There are very few American tourist staying here. It seems the company that runs this resort is mainly focused on Hispanic tourists. Nothing at all against Hispanic tourists but there were many communication issues. 4 peeps at the front desk and only one could speak a little english, the manager spoke no english at all. None of the maids could speak more that a few words. Seaweed grows right up to the beach so the water was just too yucky to enter. The rooms have semi functional motion sensors that turn off the lights and ceiling fan after about an hour. Recycling the light switches will not help. You have to get close to the sensor and wave your arms to get the lights back on. The electrical outlets were also wonky. Only two in the room and both were so loose fitting I had to tape my phone and laptop charger (small ones) to the wall to keep them from falling out to the floor. That said the property is beautiful and clean..

Let me start off by saying that the property was extremely clean. I did not notice a drop of garbage on the grounds. The property it self is a bit outdated. I had to switch rooms because the AC in my initial room did not work. They switched me over to another room that was already occupied, and I opened the door and walked in on another patron! They then switched me again where the elevator button did not work for the 6th floor. I would have to continuously push the button for it to work.
The rooms are pretty basic… and they do not supply wash cloths automatically. It was nice however that the refrigerator would be restocked daily with sodas, waters, beers and snacks.
The property has 1 large pool, a lobby bar, a beach bar, and 2 places to eat (the other restaurant was under renovation). The food at the Mexican restaurant was really good 10/10. The menu changes daily, but you have to make reservations, so make sure you book them early.
There is really not much to do on grounds here, so if you’re looking for a party hotel, this is definitely NOT it. The good thing is that it is close to other hotels and the downtown area.
-WOMEN TRAVELERS- be wary of the beach area. There’s men out there that I’m not sure if they work for the hotel or not, but they try to get you to go out with them to Coco Bongo. One tried to get me to go to his home and got extremely angry when I did not go with him.

They made sure to maintain the resort clean.

What really makes this property special are the people. They were all so kind and helpful throughout my time there. The food was great, drinks were strong, and our room was cleaned daily. You also feel very safe on the resort as well, which was one of my main concerns. The only downfall of this resort is the cleanliness of the dishes and the pool. I don’t think they always clean the dishes, just rinse them. There was multiple occasions were our glasses or dishes had an odor or some food residue. The pool seems clean, but I wore my goggles in the one day and there was a bunch of black fuzzy spots all on the floor. I looked it up and I believe it was black algae. Upon further research, I strayed away from the pool since. I am concerned about the cleanliness of it. Overall, as long as you check your dishes and stay away from the pool I don’t think you’d have any issues. Beach area was small but beautiful and you can’t ask for a better price at an all inclusive resort.

This is my second time coming to this hotel and I’m even more happy with it than the first. Staff was very nice and they did some upgrades. The beach was clean and the rocks that were there as you enter the water the previous time were removed which was nice . You can see that the air conditioning vents were replaced and nice and clean.
New food choices and entertainment.
Pool was very clean and the grounds very well kept.
Overall I had a great week there with my family.

A lot of issues with rooms at check in. Rooms not ready, then broken door and AC. Had to change rooms and new room deadbolt wasn’t working on door.

My family really enjoyed this property. Very convenient for everything. We felt safe. Staff were all friendly. However, the front desk needs improvement such as more people to assist, able to speak English. It was a long line to wait to check in and out. Also, there’s language barrier when I was asking for extra bed. Additional, the gym as super hot. The AC has been down according to the front desk so it needs repair. The entertainment at night were wonderful especially the Michael Jackson show. I highly recommend this property.

We went as a group of 6 ladies and we really enjoyed our stay at Occidental Costa Cancun. The property was always clean and the staff, were AMAZING! Our beach side server, Sarai was the bomb. The food was great and there was always something yummy when you got hungry.

Easy access to main attractions in Cancun via public transportation. Good agent in lobby for tours to Tulum, Hol Box, Chichen Itza, etc. loads of activities for families. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic beach area - small and clean.

The staff was friendly. The rooms we average. The drinks non-alcoholic/alcoholic were horrible. I went for my birthday but was in bed the whole day with upset stomach.

Resort was nice and clean, and the people were very friendly and the service was fantastic. The ocean beach was not as nice with the weeds and rocks and need more sand but I heard that is a problem all over in the area.

Our family of 5 stayed here for almost a week and really enjoyed our time here! Entire staff was friendly, courteous and always made sure we had what we needed. They had activities throughout the day and a main stage entertainment each night which was an unexpected bonus! Pool is large and perfect to hang out in all day and the beach area is small but very relaxing to just lounge under the palm trees or take a quick dip in the water. They have jet skis to rent or free kayaks and paddle boards for use. The hotel is right next to a dock where boats are always coming and going which is interesting to watch. Also just a few steps away you can hop on a ferry to Isla Mujeras! Food options are good as well!

The food was terrible. A/C in both the rooms we had was insufficient. The pool was nice as was the beach area

The hotel is nothing like the pictures. We were told we were getting a 2 bedroom suite, but we received 2 adjoining rooms but the interior door was locked so we had to keep going in and out of the rooms to get to the other room. The AC was not cooling the room. The food was horrible, and although they said that we had mtiple resteraunts they were not available. We paid for all inclusive bit everything we wanted was an extra charge.

Great resort with great service and many things to do!

Most staff were friendly. Specially the server at the Mexican restaurant who accommodated my group of 6 people last minute to celebrate a birthday. The beach was not pleasing, we spent most of our time at the pool which was very lively.

Nothing fancy at all and food is horrible.

While there were options for dinner, you had to have reservations and those filled up fast. Food was the same, just covered in different sauces and camled skmething different! Snack bar was almost always out of food and you couldn’t take food out of the snack bar. Pool was large enough to accommodate all the guests but kept too warm!

We had a family of 5, stayed 5 nights, 2 rooms. The property was beautiful, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were very nice and super accommodating. Service was on point. We would have liked a bigger beach area.
