Good hotel

Amazing ocean views and great breakfast. We watched the sunrise from the pool deck. The beach is walking distance from the hotel. There are plenty of food options nearby.

Friendly staff and very helpful. Rooms are not clean. Noticed fungus near the sink.

Rooms were spacious, great location.

The hotel is located in a good area. There are lots of restaurants and bars walking distance. In addition, the hotel has a great rooftop with a beautiful view to the ocean and you can watch the sunset.
Luiza from the reception desk has provided great recommendation. Breakfast is great, but I would recommend to be more attentive with the room since it was cleaned around 5 pm and the toilet paper wasn't enough for one night.

Enjoyed my stay here.

I enjoyed myself at Novotel in Salvador where I stayed for 1 week. Great location with plenty of restaurants and music and great buffet and very kind staff who went out of their way to accommodate me. There is a shuttle car that takes guests up the hill where the hotel is located. Great rooftop bar and pool with beautiful sunset views. They are busy painting some floors of the hotel but very accommodating if you are uncomfortable. I can’t wait to return!

The Room had a fantastic sea view and was very clean.
Outstanding breakfast with plenty of options (the Lady that does the Tapioca and the Omelets lives up to her legacy of being super nice and doing fantastic Tapioca)
All staff was nice and helpful.
Swimming pool on the roof top was very clean.

Unhelpful reception, poor breakfast, the usb port does not work, so unable to charge phone

The staff were fantastic 10/10. The location was fun, with things happening all around. Such a fantastic vibe. The breakfast was ok, with a lot of options; however, any other meals were mediocre, taking a long time to be served even when no other guests were in the restaurant. The gym was very small and the equipment in poor condition and the pool was often dirty with algae and things floating in it. The view, however, made everything better!

Very loud room due to neighboring bars and restaurants with loud music. Location is decent and rooftop pool is a nice touch.

Beautiful amenities and location

Beautiful property. Had some issues with the shuttle that dropped you down on the street as it didn't show up when we were told it would be. Am still waiting on a refund for a double charge after 3 weeks and the hotel has yet to reply regarding it.

The view is gorgeous. The service staff was accommodating. However, the initial room we were put in had puddles of water under and beside the bed. Apparently, a technician had been there earlier to fix the air conditioner and that was the cause of the water puddles. Still, once we turned on the a/c, the water began to pour out like it was from a faucet. Also, upon using the bathroom sink, we found that it was clogged.
The room that we were moved to was smaller, but in better condition. By the time we were able to get this new room, we were too exhausted to enjoy. The next day , we were inconvenienced by being locked out of the room for half an hour because the key cards wouldn’t work . So, my fiancé needed, once again, needed to go to the front desk to fix the key card. Upon entering the room, my fiancé couldn’t retrieve her items from the safe because it wouldn’t unlock . She had to wait quite a while before maintenance brought a physical key.
This was my first time staying at a Novotel property and it has left a bad impression in my mind. However, the service staff in cleaning and room service were excellent. The security guard was awesome as well.

Absolutely excellent, well worth the cost. Big clean room, beautiful property, good breakfast, nice staff. Only tiny concern is the noise outside - but that's just a location hazard. Highly recommend

You can tell the hotel was rebranded or renovated. Some parts are very old and tacky looking, like the area inbetween the your hotel room and the elevator. But the room and the reception area is nice and modern looking. The elevators are small for a big hotel. The pool is small not that modern, the terrace is old and gym pitifully small. The view from my seaside view is good, but right below is not that great. The breakfast is good and varied. Did not order dinner or lunch, as there are better restaurantes to try in Salvador. Would be better if got a stay at a resort or something. Only good parts the location, hotel room, and reception area/breakfast.

Great hotel. The amenities were excellent. The service was great. Only negative was a lot of noise from the bars nearby.
1.0
The place was ok but the noise from the bars outside was extremely loud until 3 am. This wasn’t a little noise but I could hear every word of the sounds like it was right outside. I expect a 4 start hotel to at least sound proof rooms or at the very least give ear plugs. I could not sleep at all and it these bars are like that every night. There is no reason to pay to stay here with noise like that. Don’t go here.

Very noise, music from the bars around till 2 in the morning! Its sooo loud, impossible to have a good night of sleep
Check carefully your bill, we had 4 rooms booked and all of then they charged for things we never ordered or they double charged.

Nice hotel, but located on a hill. Rooms are comfortable, internet very slow and there were few times power outages and water issues. Breakfast was not included and parking is extra too. Overall good place but many extras. Expensive.

Property was under construction in some section, other then that it was so beautiful.

Nice room, good desk for working, I would have appreciated a room with windows for breakfast, current room is not very nice.

The hotel was under renovation when I stayed there ...it will be nice when completed but overall is a nice hotel if you want to stay close to the beach

The breakfast is very good. The decor of the room is insufficient. There is not enough light to read. No chairs and no table on the balcony. Only Brazilian TV programs. The water for showering is not always warm.

Safe location with beautiful view and plenty to do within walking distance. Great breakfast. Solid service. Good value for price.

They charged extra for having another guest

The location, privacy, and views at this hotel are superb! The pool is great. The staff was very courteous, polite and professional, and my room was always cleaned very well. The breakfast also was great with all the usual items, and with a fresh egg omelet grill. The property though, while only being 21 years old, has not been well maintained. The hotel is literally crumbling, falling apart, old, poor air conditioning, and the gardens are unkempt. There are renovations underway, but currently this is only a two star accommodation (not 4 as listed!)

The food was nice at breakfast, however was not as nice when I ordered at the pool. I found the room service to be a high standard. The pool was relatively small and got busy often. The main issue I had was that many of the staff didnt speak English, whilst I know this can happen I do not think the staff were trained in how to deal with English speakers as they would often walk off and hang up the phone. Otherwise the stay was enjoyable.

The hotel is located in a great location in Salvador at the top of a hill overlooking the south part of Salvador and with beautiful views. There is an excellent old fishing market at the bottom of the hill that has been converted into a nightlife area with excellent restaurants, some with very good local entertainment. The hotel provides continuous shuttle service up and down the hill with a golf cart (seats 5 passengers at a time) for those guests that might not want to make the 5 minute walk up and down the hill. There is also a square across the street on the other side of the entertainment area with additional restaurants, etc.The hotel itself is a little dated and the first day we arrived, our room lacked a safe (we were told it was out for repair) but the front desk staff were excellent and immediately moved us to another room that was fine. Continental breakfast was included with our stay and was very good with a lot of options. The rooftop pool was good with great views and a small bar. If you like tennis, there is also a full size court at the rooftop that looked in very good condition. There is also a workout room at the entrance of the hotel that we did not use.Overall, we had a nice stay and we were very impressed with the staff. Recommended for a value oriented guest.

The Golden Tulip Hotel is in a nice location, however, the hotel itself is run down and needs a overhaul bad. Like most of the hotels in along the beach in Salvador, they need to keep the hotel updated since the salt from the sea eats into everything. You can tell this hotel uses to be nice, but now, a lot of the rooms, lobby, fitness center and pool and tennis court need repair. The tile around the entire facility is in bad shape. The hotel staff are nice, and the breakfast is okay. The cakes are very dry and the eggs are not fully cooked before they place them out.
