Clean, nice washer and dryer,

The 3 Queen suite must have been the old manager's quarters. It had a kitchen with full fridge and oven, completely unexpected, and looked out over the swimming pool.
Food was fine, except they're one of the hotels doing the gravy thing as your meat protein for breakfast to save $. We get it. This economy under the country's pres & vice pres has been wretched, but two days in a row? Hmm... We're also paying higher room rates, so an actual meat protein would have been nice.
Pool was fine. Kids had a great time. Thank you!

Pretty nice place the only thing i didn't like was coffee was awful not sure what it was and the rest of breakfast was just so so

Hotel dated. Room small, but clean and comfortable

We liked that it was close to the Mickelson Trail and downtown. The price was fair. Room had microwave and frig without a freezer for our ice packs. The pool and hot tub was open with nice pool towels. Breakfast was mediocre, but plenty of options in town. Beds were comfortable and room was air-conditioned. Not much to offer for handicap rooms.

My stay would been just fine if the AC would be working. Besides the AC this was a clean and freindly stay.

Convenient location and enjoyed the grassy area and picnic tables towards the back. Staff was so friendly and helpful! Rooms were nice and clean, cool, and comfortable. The continental breakfast was a little on the bare side, but overall the stay was amazing.

The reception staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. It is an eco friendly hotel so expect to use your towles throughout your stay and make your own bed if you want it made.

Just your basic motel, but conveniently located to Crazy Horse Memorial and Mount Rushmore

Room was comfortable.

Nice and clean. I was able to adjust my stay by text staying one night less. Staff was polite and accommodating. All the hotels it seems are now owned by one big conglomerate unfortunately. Would have liked to have had a comfortable reading chair in my room; there was plenty of space for one.

It was an okay hotel for the price. You get what you pay for.

The beds were good. The chlorine from the pool and spa actually burned all 3 of our eyes. You could smell it from the lobby.
THERE IS NO ELEVATOR! So if your disabled like me, dont go there.
No coffee pot inside the room.
The rooms need an upgrade.
The ice machine on our side of the hotel was broken for the 4 days we stayed.
They decided to paint the outside of the property during Sturgis Bike Week, so we weren't able to park our bikes up by the building under our rooms.
One man had his radio almost stolen. Zero security cameras on property.
The (free) breakfast you pay for in the price of your room was awful.
The coffee was pretty bad as well

Took about forty minutes to check in— even with Expedia itinerary number couldn’t find our reservation—instead of apologizing profusely, desk clerk rudely snapped at my husband—the morning after we checked out, despite having already paid through Expedia, our credit card was billed for a second time for $40 MORE than the price I booked for—so total of more than $320 for one night at a very small room with one queen bed. I will never book with Expedia again or stay at another Super 8.

The curtain was broken and I had to fix it myself after telling the front desk. We checked in a bit later in the evening but I was told no one was around to fix it.

We were pleasantly surprised with the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the room and the convenience in location to downtown Custer. This is a great value!

Very nice rooms and pool area. Breakfast worked for us, not a ton of options but ok. We would stay there again.

Pool was nice. Comfortable room and bed

The room was clean and quiet, which are the two most important things. One area lacking though was the breakfast. I made sure to book someplace with breakfast in order to save some money. However, the breakfast was quite lacking. Every day there was a choice of two cold cereals, oatmeal packets and yogurt. The hot options were lacking. There were scrambled egg patties every day. One day there was biscuits and gravy, one day there were plain tortillas, and the last day of our stay there were pancakes. I had expected more options and would have opted to save some money and book someplace different had I known the lack of choices would lead us to buying outside food anyways,

It was a great find! We spent four nights and had so much fun exploring around Custer. Half hour from Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, and a bunch of charming towns. We found several great restaurants near the hotel that we enjoyed returning to.

The breakfast offerings were limited, but the main concern was the problem with the fork dispenser. It did not work for the two days we were there. In addition, there was one day when the milk was gone, and the desk had to be informed.

My overall stay was above average.
Expedia is not a reputable business. I. Reserve 1 room for 1 adult & one dog. The clerk informed me that I had
two. The second room was for two adults no dog”
I owe for one room not two! The
Clerk informed me that could not cancel because I arrived on my arrival date!
As you can imagine I’m quite upset! I would appreciate any help!!
When I arrived at the hotel the clerk notified me that I had been charged & paid for with the
the credit card on file.
I’m extremely upset and hope you can RECTIFY my
problem!

Everything was great, except this was a pet friendly motel and we paid the nightly pet fees and there was no pet station.

We specifically picked this hotel to get 3 queen size beds. I was expecting all beds in a row like regular hotels. But I was pleasantly surprised when it was a suite with 2 queens in the family area, and a separate room with another queen. There were LOTS of shelves in closets. Unfortunately the air conditioner didn’t cool as much as we like. The breakfast was sad, with powdered eggs almost every day. There is no elevator. The part that upset me the most was that in the “transition wood” from family room to kitchen - there were 4 nails sticking straight up! I ended up putting a towel over it for the trip so no one would get hurt and tried to make the most of it. Overall the hotel met our needs and was cheap.

It was a great room. Only thing we wished different - the color of the step for the 3rd floor. Fall hazard.
1.5 / 5.0
Front desk friendly.
Rooms ok
A lot of broken locks to the rooms in the hotel.
Terrible breakfasts. One day was only 5 yogurts in the refrigerator so people could get nothing. Scrambled eggs...like wooden chips.
4.0 / 5.0
I have stayed at this property several times when visiting Custer and the room has always been quiet and clean and this visit was no different. This time however the breakfast was horrible. The eggs had the consistency of gravel and tasted horrible and there was not a breakfast meat option. This has not been the case in the past and I hope it is just a 1 off occurrence.
