A very tired hotel, needs to be closed down and called a hostel. Absolute rip off for the price i paid. Full of non paying residents

Staying only one night but comfortable central to amenities

Great location and food, rooms getting a bit tired
3.0
This hotel is very dated. The public areas have been upgraded but the rooms are very old fashioned and the corridors leading to the rooms out dated and worn.
The staff are amazing however and helpful.

Lovely receptionist but as a solo female traveller amongst mainly male guests please don’t ask my room number when I come to the restaurant. I don’t want others to overhear it.

It’s all 25 years old and tired.
Room was warm, bed comfy.
It’s a budget place.

This is our 2nd visit as it’s a lovely hotel. The staff throughout the whole hotel are amazing. They are all so friendly and helpful. Last time was an overnight stay, this time was for the weekend so we ate in the hotel. Breakfast is fabulous - a great choice of food. Had 1 dinner and the food was great and service quick. Thoroughly recommended!!

We had an overnight stay and arrived late so not sure what is around the area except a huge Asda within walking distance. Check in staff were amazing - very friendly and so helpful. A total credit to the hotel!! The bar area is very spacious and welcoming. Room was big and plenty room to move around

Staff was great but the hotel is quite old. You’ll hear all other guests while in your room. The WiFi is good for email and nothing else. The rooms are in need of renovations, there is a weird smell to the room. Nothing bad but not fresh.

The property is adequate to rest your eyes. Nothing much more.

the hotel room and facilities are very old and usage. the bed was uncomftable and not fixed (moved back and forward and to the sides). the bath room was unpleasent

Tired & shabby decor including the unappealing littered carpark.Room smelt damp and musty, worn towels, lumpy pillows and uncomfortable bed glad it was only 1 night!

We had a good stay at the Mercure Livingston while en-route to the Cairngorms. The service was great from check in to check out.

Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful . There was a marketplace town square a mile away with great selections to eat and shop. Room was clean and shower had great water pressure. portable fan was noisy and bed and pillows were a bit firm but overall we were very pleased very easy to get to EDI airport

Close to shopping venues and not too far off the motorway.

The hotel was good. We had two rooms. They forgot to service one room. After informing no compensation was given just a dry sorry. My point is simple if I book a hotel at this price than you give me full service or discount me like a motel. I had to make the room after a tiring day myself, so could have also rented a cheap apartment. Manager should be trained to handle such situations

Rooms were very dated, bar was well overpriced , had the chicken balmoral for dinner and chicken was hard on the outside and tough and dry on the inside. WiFi was really slow.staff were nice and it’s very convenient for shopping.

Travelled up on my own. I was able to check in super early due to me travelling 9 hours by coach.
Welcome by Rebecca who had arranged for early check in.
The room was so comfortable and just felt like home for me.
The staff are so kind and really made my stay welcome.
Big shout out to Chris and Daniel the food was brilliant.
And the servers Lisa James freyja and anecsa. Think I got that right. I literally couldn’t have gotten through the rest of the evening if you guys hadn't been there for me to talk too. I would recommend to stay here.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. May see you again.

Restaurant was warm and muggy. The A/C unit was not working but the propane fireplace was still heating up the entry way area. Room was fine but hallway carpeting needs to be replaced.

Poor food, noisy, never again

Good mid-level hotel handily placed for my n eeds working at the nearby Dalmahoy Golf club for a couple of days. the hotel is I suspect due a refurb but whilst a little 'faded' the staff are exc ellent and the cleanliness of the rooms was very good.
I eat only at breakfast but this was very good and excellent value at £12.
The reception staff were especially helpful and gave me advice about how to best access the stores at the huge retail complex over the road.

Great staff, great rooms. Recommended

The hotel was very tired there was even a christmas tree in the reception which looked really tacky. The shower area had mould. The food was ok but the signal for the card machine was very very poor. The cost to stay here was certainly not worth the amount paid and seriously needs reviewing.

Pretty run down and smelly

Overpriced, room below standard as per description, breakfast tasteless, hotel shabby needs TLC, only redeeming feature was the friendly staff.
