Loved the hotel actually. Was charged a $100 resort fee when checking out. I asked about any added fees when I checked in and was told there weren’t any.

Beautiful hotel with excellent accommodations. Super friendly staff at every encounter. Comfortable, chic, safe, and inviting.

Came to NYC for a family wedding. The room was small but had a king bed and was comfortable. Loved the second floor library lounge with coffee and snacks. The rooftop bar was awesome. Dislike the added Resort fee as it is a Hotel and not a resort.

Wonderful small hotel, comfortable, convenient, quiet with friendly helpful staff. Especially nice for single travelers!

The staff at the front desk/lobby were so pleasant and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider the Library Hotel for our next trip to NYC!

HVAC system not working

Amazing service, roof top bar is great!! Hotel is on the older side, but it's New York.

Booked The Library as I had stopped in a sister hotel on last visit to NYC, and I knew they had a rooftop bar and a great complimentary cheese board. Was very disappointed to learn the rooftop bar was closed for a private event until 9pm and that’s where the cheeseboard was offered! Won’t book here again.

Short business trip. Location very convenient to grand central terminal and midtown. Petite room is fine unless you are planning on spending a lot of time in the room

Excellent hotel from the minute we walked in the door. Friendly and helpful staff, very clean, a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle outside the door.

The theme concept was fun. Great location for walking to the libraries in the neighborhood.

My wife and I had a wonderful five-day stay at the Library Hotel. The location on the corner of Madison and 41st Street is conveniently a block from Bryant Park and the NY Public Library to the west, and Grand Central Station to the east. With regards dining, there are a dozen restaurants within a block of the hotel, as well as the Madison & Vine restaurant adjacent to the first floor check-in area. We especially enjoyed the 2nd floor lounge, a book-filled library space, with coffee, tea, and snacks 24-7. The rooftop bar-lounge is a pleasant place to spend a couple of hours relaxing. Finally, hotel staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful, ready to provide assistance or information whenever needed. A special thanks to Office Manager Arman for helping us with transportation upon our departure, as well as Doorman Steven for his cheerful self.

Staff was lovely - very helpful and engaged. The atmosphere was very special

A gem of a hotel in Midtown. One of few hotels where the resort fee gives you added value. Very comfortable room, altough the AC isn’t the most quiet one I’ve ever encountered but it was efficient. Lovely staff, the roof terrace is to die for and we lived the guest lounge!

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Library Hotel for 2 nights and it was amazing! What a joy to leave the busy, loud streets of NYC behind and step into this quiet, calm, clean, beautifully appointed sanctuary.
The rooms each have a theme - along with 50 books on the topic! We had the New Age room and enjoyed looking through the various books. Comfortable bed/clean bedding, small desk and nice sized bathroom. The shower was tiled, a nice touch for a hotel.
The library was a wonderful space for 24/7 snacks and relaxation. There was calming music, a piano (which I played) and hundreds of books. Also fresh fruit, a variety of nuts and snacks, coffee, tea and a cappuccino machine. The rooftop bar is a great place for drinks and more substantial snacks, and the Madison and Vine restaurant is wonderful!
The front desk and lobby staff was warm and welcoming. We felt very safe at this property.
Just a few easy blocks to Times Square and the theater district! Also close to many parks. And great shopping/eating!
Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will stay here again when in the city.

Really impressed with this hotel. All hotel staff was beyond pleasant and accommodating and the staff at the restaurant on the property (Madison and vine) were also excellent. Room was small but that’s NYC but clean and comfortable bed and pillows. Very child-friendly- they left a book and a personalized note in the room for my 8 year-old.

We enjoyed nearly everything about this property. We did have an issue with the shower head spraying most of the bathroom, but was repaired immediately.

The Library is a small gem near Grand Central, 5th ave, Bryant Park. The front desk is so kind and patient and we love the gentle safe "vibe" of it. The coffee and related on the second floor is so nice and convenient. Love the packaged Sahali treats. I highly recommend this charming and generous hotel. The upstairs bar and terrace are also lovely although we don't drink much so don't get up there much. Still it is all a darling gem of a place to stay.

Mattress wasnt as firm as my personal taste but everything else was great. Loved 2nd floor coffee, soda and snack room. Rooftop bar nice. Location worked great for me

The 2nd floor lounge made this trip. Loved the option to grab a coffee or water. Complimentary cheese board on the rooftop bar (as long we you buy 2 drinks). Gave a solo traveller same portion as a couple of which was nice to see. Room was very dark despite being over 41st street. Even with blinds open, I needed a light to see. I think it was a dark wood finishes. Bed, bedding and pillows were very comfortable. TV was tiny but didn’t really use it. Bathroom good and a decent size for one. Aircon was spot on. Will definitely look to stay again as so close to the areas I wanted this trip.

Seems to be differentiated from other Library Properties, all of which are good based on staying at several of them. But this one is unique as a "library"

The hotel is located in a central but relatively quiet area of Manhattan. The staff was friendly during check-in and gave me a free upgrade with my Hotels.com membership status. The room was comfortable and well-maintained.

Stephen the doorman at the Library Hotel is very polite, friendly and helpful. Which is the reason I changed my rating from a 4 star to a 5 star review.
To the hotel manager, I would like to say that Stephen gives an excellent first impression of the hotel and deserves a pay rise for his excellent attitude.

We enjoyed staying at the Library Hotel. The theme was throughout the hotel with rooms numbered like the Dewey decimal system in a library. The reading room offered free snacks and cold soft drinks along with fresh coffee each day. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. The rooftop bar was great. We walked to Central Park, Bryant Park, and Grand Central station was 5 minutes away.

Great spot, exceptional service with nice lounge and roof top bar amenities. Aside from more and more convenient electrical plugs its a great boutique hotel .

The Library Room that offered 24/7 coffee, water, sodas & snacks was a nice quiet place to come to hang out and relax. It’d be very nice to have some comfortable reading chairs and reading lamps in at least some portion of this large room - make it more like a real reading room. Biggest negative was not being able to get access to the rooftop bar on a number of occasions because of private events and/or being totally reserved. As the hotel bar, it seems inappropriate & was very disappointing that as hotel guests we more often than not were unable to use it. The rooftop bar is one feature that really drew us to book the Library Hotel…

Our home away from home in NYC. We have been staying here since the end of lockdown, whenever we are in New York.
We love the personal service, cleanliness, living room on the second floor, roof garden, and, of course, the books. We store our luggage after checkout, still have access to the 2nd floor, and it is convenient to both Penn and Grand Central. We can walk to the theater district.

Convenient (near grand central and broadway) and comfortable. Room was a bit small for two people but the bed and pillows were great. As was the second floor lounge. The restaurant attached was nice.
