The pool was closed and couldn’t get to the ice machine. Walked several buildings away to get ice. Should have been cleaner in the bathroom area. Hotel was not impressive. Parking was in an alley. The fire place wasn’t working well.

This hotel looks like it used to be a motel that they converted to this hotel. It's right next to the beach, which is nice, but the rooms are claustrophobic. The lighting is harsh, the sound echoes, and the beds squeak. We asked for a refund as we could not stay there. They showed us other rooms, but they were equally uncomfortable. The staff was very nice but the hotel was not.

It's an older property but that's a good thing. The staff was friendly and professional. We would stay there again.

Great location near good restaurants.

Couples trip 50th bday; reserved room with view (deluxe). When I asked why the room didn’t have a view the staff walked me out to the common patio area and said “see water view”. It was comical but super misleading. Walks are very thin, I heard the person in room next to me 5am conversation. Bathroom in lobby was so grossly dirty. Bad first impression. We made the best of it but would not recommend.

The thing to remember about the Milo is that it's a block long and parking is by valet. So if you forgot something like toothpaste, you have to go to the valet, get your keys, find your car, get the item out and return the keys to the valet kiosk then walk a block back ro your room. We were staying in room 164. The newer heating system did not work at all. In fact, this new system that was mounted on the wall didn't even come on. So we were not comfortable at night or in the morning. However, the heater in the bathroom, which is about 70 years old, worked very nicely for the bathroom. The hot water for the shower was tricky. The water temperature would surge on its own from very cold to very hot. So you have to be very carefu so as not to get scalded. Also, you couldn't shut the shower faucet off so it dripped all night and of course there was nobody available to fix it even though there was a night clerk, The only good thing I could say about our room was the beds were very comfortable. But otherwise, it was disappointing and definitely would not think to return to the Miilo

Very cute, spread out hotel with multiple buildings. Very friendly staff and neighborhood.

Amazing over all

The hotel’s location is amazing and the grounds are really beautiful and welcoming.
The room itself was underwhelming. It was fine enough but not quite as expected. It felt outdated. The phone and one bedside light weren’t working and the shower gel bottle in the shower was empty. We had mixed customer service experiences with some being very helpful and others pointing me back and forth to each other but not stepping up to resolve a question.
This place is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but missed the mark for us on this occasion.

Just an average hotel - it’s like they have taken an old hotel and tried to make it fashionably. The location is great however and right by the beach.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect, with beautiful views from our room. Our only complaint was with the room itself. It did not look like the pictures and felt older and dated compared to the pictures we saw online. The bed was on the harder side, and so were the pillows. After the first night, we asked the front desk for softer pillows, and they graciously provided two perfect pillows. Lastly, the room felt dark and dingy. The hotel is big so there is a chance not all rooms will be the same. But for the price we paid, we expected a better room.

This hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. The room was dingy and needed repairs. There was a smushed dead bug on the wall that housekeeping never cleaned. There’s no soundproofing so you can hear everything coming from the connecting rooms, even normal conversations. The street noise was also very loud. The tub/shower combo was missing a second door so the bathroom floor gets soaked every time you take a shower. The hot tub bleached our bathing suits from too much chemicals. Marketing photos of this hotel are a catfish, don’t fall for it!

It was amazing

Staff was nice and attentive. Rooms need some maintenance and shower was very small. Had to change rooms due to an ant problem and almost changed beforehand due to excessive noise from the parking lot. Heard a garbage truck pass by on 2 different days and walls are very thin. Location is great but wouldn’t stay there again.

The location of the hotel was great, right across the ocean/harbor. It's a huge hotel with several buildings. A big part of the experience is absolutely depending on the location of your room.....
The decoration of the room is very spare, not a lot of thought went into this and it was outdated. The bathroom was VERY small, not even two persons could fit in there simultaneously. The bed was comfortable.

Lovely stay in Santa Barbara. Great location nice big rooms but a small and dated bathroom. If you get one of the family suites / the bunk beds are enormous and comfy and the added benefit of having a mini terrace on the top floor. The swimming pool is small but fine for a dip and has a a jacuzzi. They provide bicycles for free - lovely for going out on a quick explore.

Very old rundown feel. Bare necessities at a high end cost.

Property was kept up incredibly well, the location is hard to beat, and the staff was very helpful! The room was slightly dated in my opinion, but for the value and location it’s hard to complain.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Milo. It’s in the perfect location for the beach, as well as the shops and some lovely restaurants. Good size rooms, with very comfy beds. The two pools are lovely too. And the staff are wonderful!

Overall staff, service, location all amazing. Free bike rentals, and towel service.
My only issue is street facing room was very loud. Walls and door were not insulated enough to stop the street noise

The valet staff was wonderful. From helpful tips for the nearby golf course to providing towels and beach chairs- they were wonderful. The room was small and old but the location near the beach was perfect. We hardly utilized the car as we were able to walk to nearby restaurants, wineries and breweries. The hotel rooms are a little old but it adds to the charm.

Love the place have stayed many times.. but just this time was like ughh.. got thrown in a corner bottom floor room was somewhat tiny for smaller people. And the bed said kong size bed ya no my feet were hanging of the end in a queen bed.. i didn’t make it a deal because it was a quick turnaround. But i still love the place..

We enjoyed our stay. The best part of the hotel is the location. Easy walk to great restaurants & right across from the beach.

Great location - dated property but staff is nice and grounds are great. Very lush.
2.5 / 5.0
The room was very clean and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back. My two complaints are the bed needs to be replaced and the room was very stuffy at night and the hotel has the air where you can’t make the room any cooler. Other than those two things everything else was wonderful.

Noisy blvd traffic. Very thin walls between rooms, i could hear everything our neighbors were
doing including bathroom visits, this was not good. Bed was old and worn and very uncomfortable. The air conditioner didnt have a fan only setting so it could be on to drownd oit all the outside noise.
