An old hotel, with a great view.

Our stay was good. The front desk lady was a bit snobby but we did not have to use her much. Our room was clean up a spiral staircase with a very small bathroom and deck. The view was phenomenal with great breakfasts. The road to the town was challenging to walk since the traffic moved very quickly.

Perfect view of the coast

it was very hard to leave this hotel as it’s such a perfect place to relax. Thank you for making our holiday special.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 4 nights and I cannot say enough about it. The view was gorgeous and a five minute walk to town and the ferry port that we came in on. The hotel had so much character and the courtyard was so beautiful. I found myself wandering around the place because it was so interesting. My favorite part was the staff; they were so kind and welcoming. They clearly took pride in what they did and made us feel at home. I forgot my shirt when we packed to leave, and the ladies who cleaned our room folded it up and made sure they got to me before we left. 😊 The waitstaff gave us recommendations on towns to visit and which wines to try. We did breakfast every morning, lunch, and dinner…all were delicious and I would definitely stay here again. I’m glad we splurged a little-it was worth every penny!

Great location. Wonderful staff, very helpful .
Room is small ( it was a convent) but charming. Beautiful historic lobby. Off season so the restaurant was only open for breakfast .

If you can book this hotel, do it! This hotel is amazing! You'll be a 5 minute walk from shopping and ferries. They park your car for you when you arrive. Additionally, you have fantastic views of the Almalfi Coast along witb the inner Courtside gardens. Breakfast was terrific as well.

This hotel was amazing, historic, well preserved and beautiful. It was also located close to the center of things but far enough that it wasn't too noisy to sleep. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our hotel window. Service was polite, helpful and timely. The breakfast was spectacular.

Restaurant in the tower was excellent — great views of Amalfi and the water. Pool facilities were great too. Hotel staff were very helpful and did a great job assisting us with making dinner reservations.

Fantastic hotel. The pool is particularly marvellous. The ability to sit and look into Amalfi and then jump from this area into the sea is spectacular.

This hotel is amazing! Beautiful hotel, convenient location, very helpful and friendly staff.

The beds were extremely uncomfortable and place is very rundown. I have a video. The staff at check in were rude but others were friendly. The heat was so strong, we had to open window for air and there was no shower curtain or stall, which made it difficult to shower or bathe. Amenities were so limited too. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruit. Location was great. What’s worse was that Expedia said the room wasn’t guaranteed and this was not a great way for Expedia to get loyalty from frequent users like me, who had gold status and take at least 2 trips a year, this was my third for 2019.

We loved EVERYTHING about this property. We stayed here 20 years ago, and this time we wanted to stay for even longer time. This is a CLASSY hotel. Its location is perfect - 3 minute walk to Amalfi center of the town, bus stop which will connect you to Salerno, Ravello, Positano, Sorrento and eventually to Capri. Great uninterrupted views of the ocean from our room. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant was most friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has delicious menu every day with collection of wines. We would give this hotel a perfect 10 score and HIGHLY recommend it to others visiting the Amalfi coast!!!

Public areas quite nice but room was like a dull hospital room.

Originally a convent founded by St Francis of Asissi over 800 years ago. Fabulous views over the water & Amalfi & just a short walk from the town. Rooms are spacious, comfortable & air conditioned.

We especially appreciated the serviceminded and very kind staff, the relaxing pool area, the delicious breakfast, and the historic surroundings. Would absolutely recommend to family and freinds - who are traveling without children and looking to relax in beautiful surroundings.

This hotel is an established one which I had wanted to stay. The room we stayed was not very large but clean and lovely. The location was very nice and easy to move anywhere. The view from our room and restaurant was amazing! Any staffs were friendly and polite. The breakfast was one of the most my favorite ones I had ever while seeing great view. I would like to stay here if I would visit Amalfi again. Thank you.

Excellent view. Service and staff should be much better compared to a 4 stars.

Operations/staff service was impeccable! An older property that has a fabulous history and is very well maintained. Occupying a unique location in Amalfi, the hotel offers outstanding views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and features a salt water pool overlooking the Sea. Hotel has the traditional amenities wifi, TV, A/C. A quiet and restful spot.

We have spent 5 nights and our experience has exceeded our expectations. We had half board. The selections for breakfast and dinner was excellent. The quality of the meals is better than what you can get at a restaurant. The overall service has been magnificent. Victorio, Dominick, Roberto and Salvatore have helped us a lot during breakfast and dinner. They have custom cooked for our 6 yr old daughter for dinner. The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful with daily trips. The location of the hotel is breathtaking and only few minutes walk away from the city center and port. The restaurant across the street has a great view as well and the food is delicious as well. You need to take the steps down to the pool which is convenient for families with kids too. The gentleman there was very polite too. When we go back to Amalfi, this is where we are going to stay for sure.

Beautiful property, amazing views of amalfi. Close to the beach and port. Parking in the hotel is available by valet only. The pool and restaurant are literally on the water. You can jump down from the pool into the Mediterranean.

We had an issue with the room we were assigned upon arriving and took it up with the front desk. After a short time we were shown a room that was a major improvement and we were very happy with the change. Our room had a downstairs with a sliding door that opened to a balcony that overlooked the bay and the coastal road below. To the right from the balcony we looked down on the town of Amalfi since the hotel sits at a high point along the road. A window from the inside gave us the same view of the Amalfi. The bedroom was a loft upstairs that opened up toward the sliding door and from the bed you could look out to the sea. The first night and day we left the sliding door open and were very pleased enjoying the views and sounds of Amalfi. The coastal road is heavily traveled and very narrow but we thought there was no other way to get to and from the hotel. That was until one of the front desk workers showed us a back way through one of the many narrow passageways in Amalfi to get back and forth. Be ready for a little climbing. Breakfast was included and each day we ate in the dining hall that had great views of the town as well. The breakfast was excellent with scramble eggs, bacon, cheeses, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice and a variety of pastries baked onsite. For a place that used to be a convent it turned out to be a great hotel.

Overall good but let down by poor air conditioning in room and tiny bathroom.

3 couples making first visit to Amalfi. Totally lived up to our expectations and actually exceeded them. The Luna Convento is steeped in history and tradition and is perfectly situated overlooking the southern end of the Bay of Naples. The hotel is classic in design and excellently maintained. The staff are very good and very welcoming. Breakfast is excellent with good choices and it is worth the effort to secure a table on the terrace.
Anyone planning to stay at The Luna Convento should make sure their room is a sea view with balcony. This will be self explanatory on arrival and during your stay.
The only suggestion we would make is that hotel considers tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. We are sure they have reasons not to do this but the option to enjoy a tea or coffee on your room balcony and enjoy the stunning vista before heading out to explore the Amalfi coast would make a beautiful experience just perfect.

Very warm welcome and helpful staff to advise on where to go / what to see. Room extremely clean. Restaurant in the tower across the road an incredible experience - both food (fresh fish) and position overlooking Amalfi.

Hotel Luna was in an amazing location, and our room was great. It had an amazing view of the ocean, overlooking a cliff. The Hotel is an old convent, that has been updated for guest stay, so the rooms have everything you need for an enjoyable stay - comfortable bed, great views, in room A/C, cable TV, bathrooms ,etc. There are not a lot of extra in the room however - which we were okay with, as we spent most our time outside, and at the Private Pool and Rock Beach, which is rare/non-existent at other hotels in Amalfi. The pool and rock beach were just amazing, and we had a great time.
2.5
We were pleasantly surprised. Yes the Luna Convento is only a 4 star, whose glamour days are behind it, but it oozes old Italian charm and authenticity. The delightful arched architecture and pretty cloister reflect the old convent. The spectacular views of the Amalfi coast are breathtaking. The restaurant service is prompt and professional and while perhaps not the best meal in Amalfi, the setting more than makes up for it. The salt water pool and ocean swimming spot is reached by a rocky billy goat path way - great for the quads! It's not a pina colada sort of place where pool side drinks are served with a flourish, but its utterly charming.
My advice - stretch your budget and book a terrace room. Or, upgrade yourself to the hotel's top suite - room 39 - as we did. It is well worth paying extra for the stunning sweeping vistas from the two large terraces that come with this big, sunny and comfortable two story room. It was the perfect Amalfi coast experience I had imagined (from the glossy brochures!) - without the 5 star price tag or the 5 star fuss.
This is not a place that does celebrity service, but when you're sunning yourself on that terrace in room 39 with uninterrupted views up and down the coast, watching the ships sailing in and the brilliantly blue water sparkle, you will feel on top of the world.
We stayed 5 days in the first week of October. Next time we'll stretch it to 10.
